Oasis paused their Cardiff gig this evening to deliver a moving tribute to Diogo Jota, leaving fans visibly emotional during a stirring performance of Live Forever.
The heartfelt gesture came in the wake of the Liverpool FC star's tragic death in a car crash in Zamora, Spain on Thursday morning, which also claimed the life of his brother, Andre Silva, Mirror reports.

The tragic news comes just two weeks after Jota married his long-term girlfriend Rute Cardoso in Porto.

The 28-year-old had recently helped Liverpool win the Premier League title and played a key role for Portugal as they defeated Spain in the Nations League final in June.
As the Gallagher brothers took to the stage, a poignant photo of Diogo lit up the screen behind them.
Though known for their fierce allegiance to Manchester City, Noel and Liam put football rivalries aside to honour the Portuguese forward, with red flares lighting up the stadium in homage to his club, Liverpool FC.
The dedication of Live Forever was met with a deafening cheer, as Oasis fans and football supporters alike united in mourning a life cut short.
The song, one of the band's most iconic anthems, struck an especially emotional chord with the crowd, many of whom were left in tears.

Tributes have poured in from across the football world since the devastating news broke, with Portuguese Football Federation president Pedro Proença among those expressing his sorrow.
'The Portuguese Football Federation and all of Portuguese football are completely devastated by the death of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva, this early morning, in Spain,' he said.

'Much more than an amazing player, with almost 50 international appearances for the national team, Diogo Jota was an extraordinary person, someone with an infectious joy and a reference in the community itself.'
Liverpool FC also shared their grief in a solemn club statement: 'Liverpool Football Club are devastated by the tragic passing of Diogo Jota.

Diogo had only recently married his longtime partner Rute, whom he had been with since they were teenagers. In a poignant social media post from 2019, Rute reflected on their relationship with haunting foresight.
Sharing a photo of the couple, she wrote: 'Seven years ago two kids, 15 and 16 years old, began their story. Two friends, same class, that never even dreamed what the future could bring!'

Premier League icon 'vetoes Serie A move for Jamie Vardy after deal was agreed for former Leicester striker'

Jamie Vardy will not be joining a Serie A side after their Premier League great of a manager vetoed the move, according to a report. Vardy brought an end to his legendary Leicester career at the end of the season, netting his 200th goal for the club in his final game. The 38-year-old has made it clear that he has no plans to retire and has been linked with a move to Genoa in recent weeks. However, the Italian media claim that move will not be taking place with the club's manager stepping in to shut it down. Genoa's boss is Arsenal icon Patrick Vieira, a key member of the historic 'Invincibles' side of 2004. And La Repubblica claim that Vardy was closing in on a switch to Genoa after the expiration of his Foxes contract. They say that won't be happening with Vieira unconvinced by the former England striker and overruling the move. Genoa sporting director Flavio Ricciardella was working on the deal with Vardy with sponsors due to cover his wage with the Serie A side. Vardy now looks likely to continue his career in Scotland with Rangers leading the race for his signature. Como and Nottingham Forest have also been linked with the Premier League veteran, who won 26 caps for England. After finishing his playing career at Man City, Vieira's first managerial post was at New York City FC. The Major League Soccer side are part of City Football Group founded by Man City owner Sheikh Mansour. Vieira won many admirers during his two-and-a-half-year stint with NYCFC, guiding to the club from 17th in 2015 to a fourth-place finish in his first season and then second the following year. The Arsenal 'Invincible' was even tipped to replace Arsene Wenger when the Gunners' boss left the Emirates in 2018. Instead, Vieira went to Ligue 1 club Nice where he achieved seventh and fifth-placed finishes during his two full seasons which persuaded Crystal Palace to make him Roy Hodgson's successor in 2021. His stint at Selhurst Park start well as he led the Eagles to a 12th-placed finish in his first season, earning praise for an attacking style. Things declined sharply in his second season, however, and he was sacked after a run of 12 games without a win with the club scoring just 21 goals in 27 matches. Vieira then served just one year of a three-year deal at Strasbourg before stepping down and taking up his position at Genoa four months later.

Oasis fans sob as they watch Noel and Liam Gallagher perform live for the first time in 16 years - as people say 'the dads are crying'

Emotional Oasis fans could not hold back their tears as they finally witnessed Noel and Liam Gallagher reunite on stage for the first time in 16 years. The brothers - whose infamous fallout meant the band disbanded - began their reunion tour with a series of shows at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff over the weekend. Fans of the iconic band were blown away after the reunion tour kicked off on Friday, as the brothers delivered an electrifying set, packed with energy and nostalgia. On Saturday night, Noel, 58, and Liam, 52, continued their display of unity as they walked out on stage holding hands again for night two. And it was clearly all too much for some fans, who sobbed as they made their great return - with fans dubbing it the 'dads version' of Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour. In videos that have racked up hundreds of thousands of views on social media, people shared footage of their boyfriends, fathers and fiancés getting emotional. Filming the crowd, Anais Sykes wrote, in a video that has 500,000 views on TikTok: 'Pov, Oasis was worth it to see the Dads crying.' One concertgoer, wearing a black bucket hat, was struggling to hold it together during Champagne Supernova, while others lifted their arms in the air in elation. Chantelle Lydia shared a video of her fiancé crying on TikTok, writing: 'Pov: your stood next to my fiancé at the Oasis reunion. 'I remember when he was crying at an Oasis tribute band three years ago, saying "this is the closest I'll ever get to seeing Oasis". Look at you now hons.' Meanwhile Amy Louise said she was 'crying on the floor', while @gamble.95 filmed every time her friend Taylor cried during their concert. On social media, people were moved, writing: 'This is the type of person who DESERVE oasis tickets not people who just go for the hype, people who genuinely appreciate them and it means a lot to them that they're back together. 'I get everyone wants to experience their gig maybe but the amount of people who adore oasis like this that have missed out is insane.' Another added: 'I saw them last night. I cried my heart out. Oasis are the most important band to me for many of reasons and getting to see them live was such an overwhelming experience.' Meanwhile others said: 'Being a teenager in the 90's was amazing and this band was part of it'; 'No like I totally get it, when I saw Taylor Swift I cried when she came out bc it's not only that you're seeing your fave but it's all the build up and anticipation for this moment! It's an incredible feeling to be able to experience joy and emotion like this, he's very lucky!!'; Anais Sykes filmed the highly emotional crowd - who had been waiting years for the Oasis return 'Buzzing for that generation of lads because there's never a band like them they can't be recreated.' However, some spectators were less convinced, telling everyone to 'grow up' as the band 'ain't gotta clue who you are.' Kicking off the show, Liam and Noel walked out with their arms around each other in a sweet display of unity, before they proudly gazed on at the crowds, who erupted into rounds of deafening applause. As the masses gathered on Friday, Liam said: 'Manchester vibes in the area,' before he kicked off the show with Hello, which served as the opening track for their 1995 classic 'What's The Story (Morning Glory). They then went into Acquiesce - a song from their first 1995 album, which was followed by the iconic Morning Glory - the titular song of the second studio album. Among the 75,000 cheering fans gathered at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Friday and Saturday, were a slew of famous faces, who descended upon the Welsh capital to take in what was described as a 'monumental' weekend for British music. Hollywood star Sienna Miller revealed she had bagged tickets to both of the Cardiff gigs, hailing Friday's as the 'greatest show I've ever seen'. Speaking to The Mirror on the Saturday, the actress joked the concert was 'alright', before confessing: 'It's the greatest show I've ever seen. The love and the nostalgia and the joy, it's like saving the world.' While House of the Dragon star Matt Smith was lucky enough to attend both night one and two, after being pictured mingling with Noel's daughter, Anais, on Friday and praising the show to the publication the following day as 'amazing'. Anya Taylor-Joy and her model pal Cara Delevingne looked to be having the time of their lives as they belted out the band's hits from their seats. Cara took to her Instagram Stories to share a video of the pair singing their hearts out to Don't Look Back In Anger, alongside Anya's husband Malcolm McRae. Vernon Kay admitted that the show had left him in tears, after attending the opening night with his and wife Tess Daly's daughter Amber, 15. The radio presenter shared a number of videos to his Instagram, showing his daughter dancing and singing along in joy to the band - who last performed together the year she was born in 2009. He was full of praise for the concert as well as both the Gallagher's performances, writing: 'One of THE BEST gigs I've ever been to! Absolutely brilliant! '@liamgallagher on fine form! @themightyi (Noel) killing it in guitar!! Note perfect….It was actually like '95!!!!!' While he added: 'Spanning the generations!! @oasis @principalitysta in Cardiff was off the charts!! Liam's voice was like the 90's Noel was brilliant!! Tears were shed…4king outstanding!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️'. Vernon also shared a glimpse of him outside the stadium ahead of the show, proudly sporting an Oasis branded bucket hat, writing: 'As good as it was when its was as good as it was…!! @oasis Absolutely SuperSonic!! Bravo @liamgallagher @themightyi 4 Mega!❤️ It comes after its been reported that Liam and Noel are taking extreme measures throughout the reunion tour, to avoid another rift. Although the boys have come back together and put on a united front after 16 years, it's claimed they are staying in separate hotels half an hour away from each other in order to ensure they keep the peace. The lead up to the gig 'has all been carefully orchestrated,' with a source saying 'they don't want to over-expose themselves to each other.' 'Having separate residences is the best option so they can relax in their own space,' they told The Sun. 'They stayed in separate locations outside the city around half an hour away from each other.' The brothers are 'happy families at the moment' and reportedly want to keep it that way. They have had a lifestyle overhaul, with Liam coming off the booze and 'sounding better.' It's claimed he wants 'eight hours of sleep every night' and they're avoiding partying completely to make it work. Meanwhile, fans and celebs alike are thrilled that the brothers are back, with David Beckham amongst the list of people who have left a comment of support to Liam and Noel. Under a photo Liam shared on his Instagram from Friday's night one show, David wrote: 'Good to have you back man' with three heart emojis. Taking to social media to share their reactions, many lauded it as 'greatest rock n roll show of all time' as they praised the 'momentous' occasion. Oasis are BACK '.

Oasis fan slams concertgoers over controversial habit at reunion gig

An Oasis fan took to social media to blast a number of concertgoers who were sat down to watch the band perform as she states 'this is who you lost your tickets to' While many sang along with their hands in the air to the iconic songs of Oasis during the Cardiff leg of the band's world tour, it seems not everyone was feeling the same spirit. And this was highlighted by a fan who raged on TikTok as she posted a video clip of a number of people sat down to watch the Gallagher brothers take to the stage for their reunion tour. The clip taken on Saturday night, which was the second night of the tour, showed a portion of the Principality Stadium in Cardiff sat down while "blankly" looking at the main stage, which left the fan raging with anger. ‌ ‌ The fan who has been named as Laura Bradshaw panned the crowd and captioned her clip saying: "Why is everyone sat down - this is who you lost tickets to btw." She accompanied the post with a crying emoji. But her clip appeared divisive. Some fans responded to her post in agreement while others did not. One person said: "why is no one singing! I wasn't sat down. Stood up singing loud and proud as everyone should have been for the struggle it was to get tickets." Another wrote: "Real fans of oasis missed out so people can come and sit down at a concert." A third penned: "WHY IS IT SO QUIET." Meanwhile a few disagreed with her post. One said: "we were in seats on the left side and we all stood up for the entire gig!" ‌ Another said: "Because they're original fans and our backs are shot to pieces." A third person chimed in saying: "I would be seating too - appreciating and taking it all in. Standing and jumping about isn't the only way to enjoy it." ‌ And a fourth added: "What are they meant to do, it's difficult to dance to Cast no shadow." A fifth continued: "Because standing up at a gig has no bearing on my of how much of a fan you are?" This comes after an Oasis went viral on social media after she was caught having to use the music app shazam to find out the name of "one of the greatest songs of all time." ‌ More than 75,000 looked on as Liam and Noel Gallagher appeared on stage for the first time in 16 years to kick start their reunion world tour. Richard Ashcroft of The Verve opened for the band and sang the classic 1997 hit song Bitter Sweet Symphony. But one woman in the crowd had never heard of it. In the clip that was shared on TikTok, the concertgoer opened up Shazam to find out the name of the song which Rolling Stone magazine name as one of the greatest of all time. ‌ The fan who caught the moment on her phone, captioned the clip saying: "Imagine not knowing the greatest song of all time." On seeing the clip, many rushed to the social media platform to vent their fury. One person said: "Seriously! I couldn't get a ticket because of these people." ‌ Another said: "This is the people who got our tickets." A third added: "this is who i lost my tickets too. And there's real fans from the 90's that couldn't get tickets' And a fourth said: "nah there's no way i lost tickets to someone shazaming one of the most popular songs of the britpop era."
