Investigators tracked the vehicle using its registration number and found that it was a rented taxi. Siddipet police commissioner B Anuradha said two men had rented the SUV for a day. One of them was identified as Ramavva's son-in-law, T Venkatesh.
Confession and motive
Venkatesh and his brother Karunakar were taken into custody. During interrogation, they admitted to planning and executing the murder to claim life insurance worth ₹55 lakh.

BARIPADA: In what seems to be inspired by the plot of Malayalam blockbuster film Drishyam, a 32-year-old man of Mayurbhanj allegedly killed his wife and mother-in-law. He buried their bodies in his lemon orchard before planting banana trees at the site to hide the crime for over two weeks. Accused Debashis Patra, an ICDS worker, was arrested from Bada Nuagaon village under Kuliana police limits on Tuesday evening. The murder had taken place on July 12. Bodies of Patra's wife Sonali Dalai (25) and his mother-in-law Sumata Dalai were exhumed from the garden during afternoon hours. Investigation revealed the 32-year-old even registered a missing person complaint with Kuliana police station on July 25 to mislead investigation. Sonali was Patra's second wife. They had married three years ago and have a one-year-old son. However, there were disputes between the couple and Sonali was staying at her parent's place in Ambdubi village under Shamakhunta block for some months.

Boy beaten to death: Girl's parents lodged false plaint of theft on Dial 100
Indore: Parents of the minor girl, who allegedly caught a boy, tonsured his head and beaten him brutally to death after tying him to a tree in Namli village of Ratlam district, had falsely reported a theft at their house on Dial 100 helpline to mislead police. Police have arrested five people, including the girl's parents, in the case. ASP Rakesh Khaka said that in a bid to mislead the police, the accused called Dial-100 helpline and falsely claimed that a thief had entered their home. However, upon arriving at the scene around 3:25 am, police found the boy's body lying outside the house. Initially, the girl's father claimed the boy died after falling from the roof, but later during questioning, he confessed to thrashing the boy along with others. The police have registered a murder case against five people — the girl's parents and three of their relatives — Rahul Sisodia, Ishwar Singh Sisodia, and Lakhan Singh Sisodia. All five were arrested. Police recovered a press card from accused Lakhan Singh. Following the incident, senior officers, including SP Amit Kumar, visited Namli police station and reviewed the investigation. DIG L.S. Chauhan IPS Conducts Comprehensive Annual Inspection in Jogulamba Gadwal District
Gadwal: As part of the annual inspections, Jogulamba Zone DIG Shri L.S. Chauhan IPS visited Alampur Circle Office, Alampur and Gadwal Rural Police Stations, and the District Police Headquarters on Saturday. He was accompanied by District SP Shri T. Srinivas Rao IPS. During the inspection, DIG Chauhan thoroughly reviewed the station records, surroundings, and the duties being carried out by the police personnel. He examined section-wise records at the District Police Headquarters and emphasized effective record maintenance and operational efficiency. At Alampur Circle Office in Kodandapur, the DIG inspected the Circle Information Book, Crime Digest, Government Property Register, and Petition Register. He instructed Alampur CI Ravi Babu to ensure prompt police response to Dial 100 calls and to intensify 24x7 patrolling by Blue Colts and Petrol Cars. He also directed regular inspections of police stations within the circle and continuous supervision of staff performance.
