EXCLUSIVE How pregnant Rihanna is coping with the devastating death of her dad

Daily Mail02-06-2025
Rihanna, who is currently pregnant with her third child, is reportedly struggling with the abrupt and heart-wrenching loss of her father Ronald Fenty.
Although the pair had a complex relationship, which included periods of both reconciliation and estrangement, an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively that the death of the superstar's dad has taken a heavy toll on the superstar (born Robyn Rihanna Fenty), 37.
'Robyn has had a very difficult relationship with her father over the years but his death has hit her like a ton of bricks. Being pregnant and dealing with ASAP's legal woes have been an emotional roller coaster for her the last few months, and to add to it all, her dad was getting sick, and it started to become too much,' the source added.
They continued: 'As much as you realize that something like this is occurring, it is still completely heartbreaking and that is where she is right now.'
The insider also noted that she 'has forgiven her father and, in death, they got back to a loving father and daughter relationship.'

'But, she is in pain, especially being a mother herself and there being a chance that her kids would have lost their dad to jail a few months back, she feels how important family is,' the source explained. 'This is going to take a long time, and maybe even forever to get over. Sad time in her world right now.'
Over the weekend, news broke that Fenty died at age 70 in Los Angeles following a 'brief illness,' according to Starcom Network, a local outlet from Barbados.
At this time, his official cause and date of death have not been made public.
DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for Rihanna for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Rihanna and her dad had a tumultuous relationship, which saw them become embroiled in legal woes at one point.
The strained relationship with her father was brought into the spotlight in 2009—four years after her debut single—when she revealed they hadn't spoken in more than a year.
'I've been the one trying to reconcile with him forever,' she said during an appearance on Ryan Seacrest's Kiis FM radio show, per The Hollywood Reporter.
'I haven't heard from my father in over a year. I try though, I reached out to him. I did my part. Now it's on him.'
At the time, she said they had a falling out after he 'embarrassed' her on her tour.
'He disrespected some people on the bus and I didn't like that, so I kind of just let him go back home,' she said.
The pop star also said at the time that she was 'upset' that her dad had given interviews following her assault at the hands of then-boyfriend Chris Brown.
'He kind of did something that was really upsetting. He turned his back on me and went to the media,' she continued.
'He got paid to talk about stuff - all these little interviews he was doing after the whole situation in February.
'I hadn't spoken to him and he was speaking as though we did. It was so disappointing to me.'
In 2019, she sued her father for using their last name for his company Fenty Entertainment. In the suit, she accused him and his business partner of representing themselves as her agents.
She withdrew her lawsuit in 2021, and it's believed that the two came to a settlement.
Ronald has battled addiction to crack cocaine in the past and has long been a heavy drinker.
Rihanna told Oprah that as a child she witnessed her father physically abuse her mother, once breaking her nose.
Then in 2008 Ronald was sent home from her North American tour following his drunken behavior on her tour bus.
Ronald has said that Rihanna then froze him out for two years before they reconciled.
In 2013 the singer quietly put Ronald through a $58,000 Malibu rehab program to save him from jail after he was arrested during a visit to California.
But in 2014 Ronald was thrown out of her Diamond Ball after embarrassing his daughter by getting drunk and falling over on the red carpet.
He left California without seeing his daughter on that trip, although the two later reconciled once more.
And despite their subsequent legal problems, Rihanna even purchased a large house that he lived in.
Rihanna is one of three children Ronald shared with his ex-wife Monica Braithwaite, whom he divorced in 2002. In addition to the Grammy winner, they also have sons Rajad and Rorrey.
Ronald also has three other children from previous relationships - Kandy, Samantha, and Jamie.
TMZ published a photo of Rihanna's brother Rajad Fenty arriving to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Wednesday in a car. His sister Rihanna is said to have been in the vehicle as well however she was not pictured.
Despite their conflicts, Rihanna and Ronald appear to have overall remained on good terms.
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ronald praised Rihanna for providing him support after he contracted coronavirus.
'My daughter Robyn was checking in on me every day,' he told The Sun at his home in Barbados April 2020, referring to the pop star by her birth name.
Ronald said Rihanna did everything she could to help him from her home in the U.S.
'I thought I was going to die to be honest. I have to say, I love you so much, Robyn,' he told the outlet.
'She did so much for me. I appreciate everything she has done.'
The pop star even purchased a ventilator and sent it to Ronald in Barbados, but he had yet to use it at the time.
In 2022, Ronald told Page Six he was 'ecstatic' to learn Rihanna was expecting her first child with partner A$AP Rocky (the couple are now expecting baby number three, with Rihanna unveiling her pregnancy at the Met Gala).
'I'm so happy that I jumped for joy. I'm still so excited,' Fenty told the outlet.
'Rihanna always said that she wanted children, she loves kids. She always takes care of her cousins' kids…she's going to be a good mom,' her father said.
The celebrity father, who spoke via phone from his home in Barbados, said he found Rocky to be 'a very cool guy' after the two got a chance to meet when his daughter brought the rapper home in December 2020.
'I like him,' he added, before revealing that he got the news of Rihanna's pregnancy a day before she and Rocky (born Rakim Mayers) went public with her burgeoning tummy.

Gwyneth Paltrow's latest cooking video leaves fans horrified after spotting something 'unacceptable'

Gwyneth Paltrow may know her way around a kitchen - but she may not be as in tune with how to handle trash. The Goop founder, 52, recently posted a video whipping up an intricate, gourmet breakfast for husband Brad Falchuk over the weekend - but it wasn't what she was making that had people talking. In the Instagram post she shared on Saturday, the actress made a lobster benedict for her husband of seven years but it was her disposal of the egg whites that infuriated her followers. In the clip, Gwyneth was seen cracking eggs into a strainer before then appearing to tip the whites directly onto the floor and nonchalantly carrying on with poaching. In her caption for the divisive video, she wrote that she was making a 'paleo lobster benedict for a Hamptons-inspired #boyfriendbreakfast this morning' and accompanied her post to the tune of Phoenix's song Girlfriend. Fans were shocked by the star's apparent mess making - taking to the comment section to share their thoughts. 'Did I just see Gwyneth empty the remnants of the egg whites onto the floor? Tell me I didn't just see that,' an appalled user wrote. 'Where did the whites go? It looked like she threw them on the floor,' added another confused fan. 'Totally pour my egg whites on the floor too,' joked another. 'She may have a servant on standby for cleanup,' chimed in another. But others came to her defense, guessing there must be a bin underneath the counter. 'It must be the under-the-counter bin, nevertheless I was entertained,' laughed one user. The Goop founder has been married to Brad, a television writer known for co-creating massive hits like Glee and American Horror Story, since 2018. The couple do not share any children together but are stepparents to each other's kids. Brad is stepfather to two kids Paltrow shares with her ex-husband Chris Martin — daughter Apple and son Moses. The actress is also stepmother to Isabella and Brody, whom Brad shares with his ex-wife Suzanne Bukinik. Last month, Gwyneth also shared several 'boyfriend breakfast' posts. In one, she revealed what makes her cry and even shed a few tears while cooking, because she had to cut up some onions as part of her meal prep. In her caption for the divisive video, she wrote that she was making a 'paleo lobster benedict for a Hamptons-inspired #boyfriendbreakfast this morning' and accompanied her post to the tune of Phoenix's song Girlfriend Fans were shocked by the star's apparent mess making - taking to the comment section to share their thoughts In another, she was standing at the stove while topless, with her 21-year-old daughter Apple sassily responding to the social media post. 'Did I steal your shirt by accident or....' Apple commented, to which an amused Gwyneth replied directly to her daughter with a laughing-crying emoji. The Hollywood star recently opened up about how she achieves her enviable physique back in April on her Goop podcast. At the time, she confessed that while she had been sticking to the Paleo diet for years, she had now become 'sick' of it and had decided to start feasting on more carbs as of late. She added she was 'getting back into eating sourdough bread, cheese — there, I said it — [and] a little pasta.' 'Gwyneth doesn't take herself as seriously anymore and has let go of chasing perfection,' a source told at the time. 'She's confident in who she is and is enjoying the success she's worked hard for.'

Mum accused of ‘child abuse' after showing off ‘giant' 4-month-old baby whose size is ‘off the charts'

A MUM says her 'giant' 22lb baby turns heads in the street - as he's 2.5 feet long and wears clothes for toddlers at only four months old. Maci Mugele shared the clip of her four-month-old baby Gunner Mattheyer on TikTok to the I Like Them Chunky song by last month, when she was hit with backlash about his size. 9 9 A number of users left negative comments on the clip about Gunner's weight and suggested it was 'child abuse' - while others said his 'chunky rolls' are 'cute'. Maci says that her baby is 'healthy' and doctors have reassured her that he's just big for his age. Gunner weighed 8lb 1oz and measured 19.5 inches tall when he was born on February 19 but has since shot up to 22lb 8oz and now measures two and a half feet long. The 21-year-old says that Gunner measured big throughout her pregnancy and continues to 'eat more than the average baby'. The mum-of-one says she never expected it to go viral and rack up more than 20 million views. Maci, from Chandler, Oklahoma, US, said: "He always measured a week or two ahead [when I was pregnant]. "I could just tell that he was pretty big and everybody already told me that my stomach was bigger than average. "You only have two scans throughout your pregnancy so I went to an ultrasound place and paid for an ultrasound to be done to see how big he was. "They told me that he was measuring quite large for how far along I was. "I think I was like 34 weeks when he was measuring at 6lb 3oz. Love Islander reveals if his unborn baby is a boy or a girl at incredible gender reveal party with The Challenge star girlfriend "The doctors said that he's healthy but sometimes people just have big babies. He's big for his height as well so I think that contributes to him being bigger. "Ever since the second day in the hospital he has eaten more than the average baby - doctors always told me he was eating a little bit more than the normal baby, which is fine they said." Maci says Gunner is in the 100th percentile for his weight and the 90th percentile for his height. The hospital lab worker says she was surprised by some of the reaction and pointed out that she didn't see how it could be cruel to feed a baby when they are hungry. 9 9 Maci said: "It made me upset to realise that there are people like that in this world that feel so comfortable saying these things about a baby. "That's just so sad to me and I would never want people to say things about him like that. "I thought that people would think it was cute if they saw it, but I didn't realise how horrible people can be. "I don't know how it's cruel or abusive that I feed him whenever he's hungry. "I feel like it would be abusive if I didn't feed him when he was hungry and crying. "Like the doctor said, he's perfectly healthy and has no problem with his weight." 9 9 CRUEL BACKLASH Since sharing the clip online, the video has gone viral, racking up more than 20 million views, likes, shares and comments. Some users were quick to criticise Gunner's size in the comments, labelling it 'child abuse'. One user said: "Absolute unit, he has booked in to put my new windows in next week." Another wrote: "This should be child abuse." A third added: "Girl the box your supposed to use is baby formula not mass gainer." 9 9 9 NEW FAN BASE Other social media users defended Gunner's size, calling him 'cute' and many predicted that his size now is simply a good indicator that he will be tall when he gets older. One user wrote: "The amount of people who are calling a BABY fat. He's got the chunk because he's going to be tall. It's kind how it works. "They gain a lot of 'chunk' and shoot up. It's literally how kids grow. Another added: "Chat he is healthy. That is all that matters. "Yes he's a big baby but if you're so bored that a baby bothers you then something is clearly wrong, not with the baby, with you." A third person said: "I love chubby little babies so much! "The chunky little rolls look at his squishy little face! Everyone saying watch out for how much he'll eat as he's older this isn't the best indicator." Another said: "Omg I wasn't ready. Those chubby little rolls. The cuteness aggression is severe right now." What is baby led weaning? Starting your baby on food can be a daunting, scary process. And while mums have depended for years on purees and soft, easy to eat foods for their babies, there's another approach that often causes controversy. Namely baby led weaning (BLW). Instead of spoon-feeding your baby pureed or mashed foods, BLW means offering them "only finger foods and letting them feed themselves from the start", the NHS explained. "You can offer a range of small, finger-sized pieces of food," they added. "Some parents prefer baby-led weaning to spoon feeding, while others combine a bit of both. "There's no right or wrong way – the most important thing is that your baby eats a wide variety of food and gets all the nutrients they need."

Conjoined twin Carmen Andrade elopes with boyfriend of four years

Conjoined twin Carmen Andrade has eloped with her boyfriend of four years. She has revealed she married Daniel McCormack in front of their families on Lover's Leap Bridge in New Milford, Connecticut. Carmen - who is a conjoined twin with sister Lupita Andrade - announced the news quietly at the end of a YouTube video titled Overdue Update! 'We should probably also address something else pretty big,' Carmen said in the clip. 'I did get married.' The bride, 25, then flashed her wedding ring and laughed when Daniel came into view, proclaiming: 'I got an upgrade. I'm the husband now.' Daniel, 28, explained that the wedding was a 'small get-together' with 'local family' only - rather than extending the invite wider. 'I don't like those weddings where they invite like the third cousin twice removed,' he said. 'I'm sorry, but great uncle Patrick, whom I haven't seen since I was three, you're not worth a f***ing seat at my table, I'm sorry.' Carmen added: ''It was very pretty. It was in autumn, which made it even prettier.' The content creator then shed some insight about her wedding dress - which she wore alongside her sister. 'I did not wear white. Don't regret it. I don't like white. Not my thing,' she explained. The twin instead decided to wear a long, sparkling emerald gown on her special day. Pictures flashed on the screen as they chatted about the wedding, showing the couple side by side at their outdoor venue. Daniel was dressed in a classic tuxedo and a dark green bowtie to match his bride's shimmering gown. Carmen also made sure to clarify who actually got married in October. 'Before anybody gets it twisted: We got married,' Carmen said, pointing to herself and Daniel. 'But we did not get married,' she added, then including her conjoined sister. The pair met on dating app Hinge in 2020. The newlyweds are now trying to win America's Favorite Couple contest, for which they are in ninth place. Lupita identifies as asexual and said: 'I don't want to get married... because I don't want to.' Before meeting Daniel, Carmen said dating was a 'learning process for everybody.' The sisters previously claimed they have often been inappropriately 'fetishized' over the idea that someone is 'having sex with two people at once.' The Mexico-born twins, who have lived in Connecticut‌ ‌since‌ ‌they‌ ‌were‌ ‌two‌ years old, are attached along their chest walls down to their pelvis, where their spines meet. They have two arms, but only a single leg each, with Carmen controlling the right leg and Lupita the left. The sisters were only expected to survive for three days after they were born in 2001. They were told their separation could result in their death or years of intensive care, so they chose to stay together and have expertly adapted to living life with one another. Both women don't see themselves as disabled either - after admitting that it is only 'a disability if you make it a disability.' When Lupita and Carmen were young, they spent years in physical therapy learning how to sit up and work together to use their legs, and when they were four years old, they took their first steps together.
