Jason Licht: Emeka Egbuka was a "top-10" player on the Buccaneers' board
'He was super-high on our board,' Licht said of Egbuka, via JoeBucsFan.com. 'You know, top-10 on our board, kind of stood out like a sore thumb.'
The Buccaneers got Egbuka with the 19th overall pick. He gives them short-term insurance as receiver Chris Godwin continues to recover from a serious leg injury, and a long-term replace for Godwin or veteran receiver Mike Evans.
Evans was the seventh overall pick in the 2014 draft. Godwin arrived in Tampa with a third-round in 2017.

Marques Colston's game-winning touchdown catch is the Saints Play of Day 36
There are just 36 days until the New Orleans Saints kick off the 2025 regular season. Marques Coltson's 36-yard, fourth-quarter touchdown against the rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers is our Saints Play of the Day. You can watch the touchdown-scoring play for yourself here. Heading into the final week of the 2014 season, New Orleans was playing just for pride. They had a 6-9 record and were facing a 1-14 Buccaneers squad. Things got off to a pretty bad start for the Saints, as they were down 20-7 heading into the final frame. Mark Ingram was able to score a touchdown to make it a one-possession game just a minute into the fourth quarter. Later in the quarter, Keenan Lewis intercepted a Josh McCown pass to set New Orleans up at midfield with about five minutes left. On third down, Drew Brees connected with Colston over the middle of the field. The receiver ran the ball about 20 more yards into the endzone, 36 in total, setting up the eventual game-winning PAT. The Saints would go on to win 23-20 after a safety. Coincidentally, this score and eventual New Orleans victory helped the Buccaneers land the first overall selection in the 2015 NFL draft. They would go on to pick Jameis Winston, who became a fan favorite for the Saints from 2020 to 2023.

Buccaneers sign WR Jacob Harris
The Buccaneers have added a wide receiver to the roster for the second time in the last three days. The team announced the signing of Jacob Harris on Saturday morning. They placed linebacker David Walker on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Walker was a fourth-round pick this year and he tore his ACL in practice. Harris was a Rams fourth-rounder in 2021 and he appeared in 18 games for the team. He had one catch for six yards with the Rams before spending time with the Eagles and in the UFL. The Bucs also signed Jaden Smith on Thursday as Chris Godwin, Trey Palmer, Tez Johnson, and Kam Johnson deal with injuries.
