Burger and Coetzee return to provide pace for Proteas in T20 tri-series
Burger and Coetzee battled injuries last summer, which in the case of the former — suffered lumbar stress fracture — kept him out of game for the entire season, while Coetzeen, after playing the T20 series against India and then the first Test against Sri Lanka, missed the rest of the summer with a groin problem.
The Proteas start the series against Zimbabwe in Harare on July 14. It will be Shukri Conrad's first assignment in the T20 format after he took over the coaching responsibilities for the white ball sides when Rob Walter resigned in April.
Walter, will be overseeing the preparation of the Black Caps after he accepted that job a month later.

From fullback to scrumhalf, South Africa can call upon different world-class players, each offering unique skills while maintaining a consistently high standard as seen during the four mid-year internationals. It says a lot about the side if players of the quality such as veteran outside centre Lukhanyo Am and Jaden Hendrikse, both World Cup winners, and Jordan Hendrikse are left on the outskirts and unable to crack a nod to be part of a match-day squad. He was ably backed up by youngster Aphelele Fassi, who has shown brilliant consistency when called upon. Fassi with his left boot, as well as attacking runs, has been a brilliant addition to the Boks' attack. Centurion Willie le Roux's experience and game awareness remain invaluable. All three of them provide that attacking spark, but with their different traits, they equip the Bok backline with various skills when on the park. The Springboks have no shortage of options at the back with these three in control. Wings South Africa's wings are known for their explosive pace and physicality. While a first-choice pairing has clearly been established over the last year in Cheslin Kolbe and Kurt-Lee Arendse, veteran Makazole Mapimpi hardly disappoints, while the arrival of Edwill van der Merwe brought more pace, sidestepping and an eye for tries. If they are not running the ball, they can pepper opposition with box kicks, which the four chasers achieving plenty of success. They complement each other, ensuring the Boks can rotate without compromising on quality. Centres In the midfield, Damian de Allende and Jessé Kriel form one of the most balanced centre partnerships in world rugby. De Allende's power and direct running perfectly complement Kriel's defensive brilliance and playmaking. Two other midfielders in André Esterhuizen and Canan Moodie provided the perfect depth, and they should be the second combination going forward. They are almost like-for-like replacements, looking at what De Allende and Kriel bring to the system. Debutant Ethan Hooker has also shown potential. Youth is on the side of Esterhuizen and Moodie as they continue to grow their partnership. Their strength on both sides of the ball and ability to gel together quickly will enable Erasmus to rotate the centre pairing more to keep De Allende fresh. Flyhalf With the Springbok attack evolving at a rapid rate, Manie Libbok has shown over the last couple of weeks why he is the top No 10 for the Springboks. His game next to Grant Williams brings the best out of the side when they run with the ball. Libbok's awareness of space and decision making on the attack is up there, and it will be difficult for the Boks to keep him off the park at this rate. Handré Pollard remains the option when it comes to composure. He doesn't play the game like Libbok, but he brings a different calmness to the team that only he can. His goal-kicking remains his strong point, although Libbok has improved immensely. Able to adapt to what is asked of him, he is head and shoulders above the other South African scrumhalves. Known for his sniping runs and quick service, Williams was outstanding against Italy and Georgia. De Klerk and Reinach's knowledge of the game is invaluable and how they pass it on to Williams and Morné van den Berg, who can be happy with his playing minutes, will be crucial for the South Africans as they head into the Rugby Championship.

'Sad drunk' Paul Gascoigne collapses at home, rushed to hospital
Paul Gascoigne is recovering in hospital after the former Tottenham and England star collapsed at his home. Gascoigne was rushed to hospital by his driver and assistant Steve Foster, who found the 58-year-old in a semi-conscious state in his Dorset house. 'Paul is in hospital, which is the best possible place for him to be right now,' Foster told The Sun newspaper. Gascoigne was reportedly admitted to an intensive care ward after being discovered on Friday, but later moved to an acute medical unit, where his condition is said to be stable. Foster said Gascoigne would 'like to thank everyone for the support he's received so far from so many old friends who wish him well and want to see him back to his best.' One of the most naturally gifted footballers of his generation, Gascoigne played for Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio, Rangers, Middlesbrough and Everton. He was capped 57 times by England, becoming a global star after his brilliant form at the 1990 World Cup in Italy reached a tearful crescendo with his emotional reaction to a yellow card, which would have ruled him out of the final, in a last four loss against West Germany. Gascoigne also starred for England during their run to the Euro 96 semi-finals, where they again lost to Germany on penalties. The midfielder's issues with alcohol addiction and depression are well-documented and he has suffered a series of health problems in recent years. In 2020, Gascoigne said he had turned his life around after having anti-alcohol pellets sewn into his stomach. But last year, he admitted on the High Performance podcast that he was a 'sad drunk' living in a spare room at the home of his agent. Victorious Junior Springbok team set to arrive in SA
JOHANNESBURG - The victorious Junior Springbok team is set to arrive in the country on Monday morning. The team made history on Saturday when they ended a 13-year wait to win the World Rugby Under 20 Championship by beating New Zealand. A small but sizeable crowd is waiting at the arrivals' terminal to welcome home a new generation of South African stars, who've made their mark on the world stage. Led by captain Riley Norton, they became just the second Junior Springbok team to win the tournament after Wiaan Liebenberg's side did the same in Cape Town in 2012. The Junior Bok team that year featured future World Cup-winning Springbok stars Steven Kitshoff, Pieter-Steph du Toit, and Handré Pollard. What will become of the class of 2025 remains to be seen, but plenty will be expected of the likes of Norton, Hashim Pead and Vusi Moyo, who made a name for themselves in 2025. The crowd gathered here has been in high spirits and full of song as they wait for Norton and his teammates to emerge with the coveted trophy in their possession. SA Rugby will host a press conference shortly where Norton, coach Kevin Foote, and SA president Mark Alexander will address the media.
