‘Getting out of hand': Fans call out Sky Sports' perceived broadcast bias against Aussie Oscar Piatri
Norris – who started on pole – was passed almost immediately by Piastri, who pinched the lead after only a handful of corners and never looked back.
It appeared, however, the race may have been taken away from the Aussie with tyre strategy coming into play.

With Norris on the better compound for a one-stop strategy, the British driver threw away his chance at victory due to three costly mistakes as Piastri oozed class and kept his cool.
As Norris began to close the gap to Piastri, he ran wide at turn 10 and lost more than a second before losing another half a second thanks to a big lockup.
With only three laps to go and the margin down to three seconds, Norris once again locked up at turn one and saw the margin blow back out to around 4.7 seconds.
But even those errors were not critiqued, instead, the broadcast applauded the Brit's driving.
'It's a brilliant charge from Lando Norris,' Martin Brundle said on Sky Sports.
While David Croft added: 'Those two little errors have cost him. If not, he would have been in Piastri's slipstream by now.'
'He's certainly got his head down and is gaining, but he's going to run out of laps.'
Those miscalculations ultimately allowed the Aussie to hold off his teammate and secure his sixth win of the season.
However, fans were left furious at the commentary, which seemed to downplay the Aussie's masterclass and instead hinted that Norris was somewhat unlucky not to win.
Piastri's win was put down to 'superior race management', while instead of stating that Norris was simply outdrove, they put it down to 'unfortunate miscalculations'.
And it's not the first time Sky Sports has almost ignored the Aussie's superior driving in favour of his British teammate.
In Bahrain earlier this year, Sky Sports didn't even show Piastri cross the finish line, instead focusing on Norris and George Russell's battle for second place.
And fair to say fans are fed up with the broadcaster's insistent love of Norris at the cost of Piastri.
'Insufferable dribble coming from Crofty. Piastri, no mistakes on higher degrading tyres with something left in the tank at the end not mentioned at all. Let's talk about his race management skills, which are superior to Lando's. The bias of Crofty is oozing out of him,' one fan wrote.
'As an Aussie, the absolutely anti-Piastri commentary from Sky Sports has been disgraceful. Brundle and Crofty normally love listening to both of you every race, but today's obsession with Lando was incredibly biased, English or not,' another said.
'Tell Crofty his sh** British Lando bias is getting out of hand! Lando is making mistakes left, right, and centre, and Croft still has him winning! Even after Oscar crossed the line and won, Croft was STILL crapping on about Norris. It's time for him to go,' a third added.
The world broadcast feed is produced by Formula 1 Management, based at a facility in Biggin Hill, south of London.
That base product includes on-screen timing, graphics, and replays.
From there, the video is distributed to rights holders, such as Sky Sports, where commentary is then added.
Last year, Croft opened up about the process, where he revealed he has no control over what is shown, and he simply has to call what he sees.
'You try and follow the story wherever that story might be, and Formula 1 is unique in that there are many different stories that happen during the course of the race,' he told Speedcafe last year.
'You've also got to talk to the pictures, which we have no control over, on Sky, at all – they're all from a world feed – so you're reacting to what that director wants to put out there.'

‘Don't care': Cold Oscar Piastri radio message causes stir
Oscar Piastri's cold radio message during the rollercoaster Hungarian Grand Prix has raised eyebrows. The Aussie was the victim of his McLaren team's strategy gamble to put teammate Lando Norris on an ambitious one-stop strategy after he dropped positions on the opening lap. Piastri was being frustrated while stuck behind Ferrari pole-sitter Charles Leclerc, but appeared to be on his way toward another victory before it emerged that Norris was on the quicker strategy and assumed the race lead when Piastri was forced to pit for a second time. Fox Sports, available on Kayo Sports, is the only place to watch every practice, qualifying session and race in the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship™ LIVE in 4K. New to Kayo? Norris was forced to hold on in the final laps as the 24-year-old Melburnian nibbled at his rear wing, but on the Hungaroring track, a circuit notoriously difficult to overtake on, the British driver held on for victory. Piastri crossed the line just 0.7 seconds behind his teammate, but all that matters is that Norris has reduced Piastri's championship lead back to nine points. McLaren has done an incredible job in keeping the relationship between Piastri and Norris amicable as they fight for the world championship — but Piastri's radio message to his team during the race shows it is just a matter of time before the gloves come off. As Piastri was preparing for his final stop, he was asked by race engineer Tom Stallard if his intent was to extinguish any glimmer of hope Leclerc had of winning the race — or simply beating his teammate. As recorded by the @radiomessages profile on X, Piastri was asked: 'Leclerc is going to be four or five seconds ahead of our pit window. We suggest to box this lap'. Piastri's blunt response was telling: 'I don't really care about Leclerc. I just want the best chance to try and beat Lando. 'That's the most important thing at the moment.' It wasn't the only radio exchange that showed Piastri was not altogether happy with his team after the race. There was only awkward silence from Piastri after Stallard congratulated him on his drive. 'Well done mate. That was really close, Oscar. Really close. Great racing. Good job,' Stallard said. 'Good stuff. Great racing. We're going to shut down. Still leading both championships. Good first half of the season.' It appears Piastri gave no immediate response. The frosty dynamic has added another layer to Piastri's reputation as a mild-mannered assassin with some fans on X describing him as a 'cyborg' or 'terminator'. Piastri could sense right from the moment he went into the pits the first time that his team may have made a mistake. 'I don't know if trying to undercut Leclerc was the right call in the end but we can go through that after,' Piastri said. F1 guru Martin Brundle said after the race he understood why Piastri would have been frustrated by his team's tactical decisions. 'Oscar will be seething with that,' Brundle said. Remember the two radio calls. Pit to undercut Leclerc. They were busy strategising to beat Leclerc. Norris didn't have that problem as he was out of the picture and came in 13 laps later and changed strategy. 'The great irony is by not being in that fight with the Ferrari at the front they had more freedom and took it. 'But he still had to deliver that pace for that amount of time on those tyres. 'Oscar will be asking why didn't we do that. Why have we two stopped and been beaten by our teammate who one-stopped?' Despite this, Piastri congratulated his teammate after the race, recognising Norris' good defensive driving in the final laps. Piastri conceded his team was making a gamble either way. 'I pushed as hard as I could. I saw Lando going for a one (stop) so I knew I was going to have to overtake on track, which is easier said then done around here,' he said. 'I tried a few things, but it was a gamble either way and, unfortunately, we were just on the other side of it.' Piastri questioned his team's decision to try to 'undercut' pole sitter and early leader Charles Leclerc of Ferrari in the early stages of the race. 'I'm not sure that was the right call in the end,' he said on radio. It wasn't. McLaren boss Zak Brown said everyone in the team will 'sleep well tonight'. Piastri may not feel the same way. The outcome was McLaren's fourth consecutive 1-2 in succession and Norris's fifth win this year and ninth of his career.

Lando Norris goes public with girlfriend Margarida Corceiro at Hungarian GP
Lando Norris was seen arriving at the track with his girlfriend Margarida Corceiro for the first time this season. The British driver, 25, was all smiles when he walked into the McLaren motorhome with the Portuguese actor and model this morning. Fox Sports, available on Kayo Sports, is the only place to watch every practice, qualifying session and race in the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship™ LIVE in 4K. New to Kayo? The couple arrived today just seconds apart from Oscar Piastri, who was holding hands with girlfriend Lily Zneimer. Norris and Corceiro previously dated for a year from around May 2023, The Sun reports. She was first spotted back on the scene this year, supporting him from the McLaren garage at the Monaco Grand Prix at the end of May where he secured a glittering win. Norris and Corceiro's first spell together came shortly after the model had just split from Portuguese footballer Joao Felix. Their relationship split at the time when the Portuguese footballer's initial loan spell at Chelsea came to an end last year. Norris and Corceiro were then seen at the Monte Carlo Masters final in April 2024, although there was no official confirmation of their relationship. The romance was short-lived, though and in August 2024, Norris said he was single. When asked if he wanted a dog he gave a short response, saying: 'I don't have time for a dog. 'If I do, I need a girlfriend, I don't have one.' Corceiro lit up the paddock and the McLaren garage on Saturday in a revealing plunging dress. Lando needs all the support he can get this term from his loved ones with him locked in a fiercely close title race with his teammate Piastri. There are just 16 points separating the two ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix.

Four uncapped players in All Blacks squad hit by injury
All Blacks coach Scott Robertson has selected loose-forward Simon Parker among four uncapped players in his extended squad for the Rugby Championship which begins for New Zealand with back-to-back matches in Argentina. The 22-year-old Chiefs backrower, who is 197cm and weighs 119kgs, adds size and physicality to the All Blacks pack ahead of impending matches against Rugby World Cup champions South Africa that follow. The All Blacks are coming off a 3-0 series sweep over France last month, but Robertson has been forced to include a number of players as cover in a squad ravaged by injuries. New Zealand has a particular shortage at scrumhalf, where superstar Cam Roigard and young gun Noah Hotham both will miss the start of the Championship. Roigard has a broken foot and Hotham has a serious ankle sprain and is out for up to two months. Also facing lengthy periods on the sideline are winger Caleb Clarke, backrower Luke Jacobson, prop Tyrel Lomax. Captain Scott Barrett, backrower Wallace Sititi, prop Tamaiti Williams, flyhalf Beauden Barrett and lock Tupou Vaa'i will be sidelined for shorter periods. All were named in Robertson's squad on Monday but may miss the Tests against Argentina at Cordoba on August 17 and Buenos Aires on August 24. Robertson has recalled Blues scrumhalf Finlay Christie after an absence of almost a year to provide backup for Cortez Ratima, who currently is his only fit scrumhalf. Three uncapped players, prop Tevita Mafileo, scrumhalf Kyle Preston and utility back Leroy Carter, have been named to provide injury backup along with returning prop George Bower, lock Josh Lord and Christie. Backrower Peter Lakai returns from injury. "Simon Parker had an impressive Super Rugby season with the Chiefs and brings a valuable skill set and physicality that we are looking forward to working with," Robertson said. "He has the ability to play blindside or No. 8 and has gained experience in a number of New Zealand representative teams, so we believe he is ready for the step up. "While we are clearly disappointed for our men who are currently recovering from injuries, that has also created opportunities for a number of deserving players including the uncapped Tevita Mafileo, Kyle Preston and Leroy Carter." Robertson said the new All Blacks squad members earned the opportunity through consistent performance "we are excited about what they will bring." Squad: Forwards - Codie Taylor, Samisoni Taukei'aho, Brodie McAlister, Ethan de Groot, Tamaiti Williams, Ollie Norris, Tyrel Lomax, Fletcher Newell, Pasilio Tosi, Scott Barrett, Patrick Tuipulotu, Tupou Vaa'i, Fabian Holland, Samipeni Finau, Simon Parker, Ardie Savea, Du'Plessis Kirifi, Wallace Sititi, Peter Lakai, Luke Jacobson Backs - Cortez Ratima, Cameron Roigard, Noah Hotham, Beauden Barrett, Damian McKenzie, Anton Lienert-Brown, Jordie Barrett, Quinn Tupaea, Billy Proctor, Timoci Tavatavanawai, Rieko Ioane, Caleb Clarke, Sevu Reece, Emoni Narawa, Will Jordan, Ruben Love
