Ilya Samsonov gets 2nd shutout of season as Knights blank Penguins
Tanner Pearson had a goal and an assist and Ivan Barbashev and Brandon Saad also scored goals for Vegas, which extended its Pacific Division lead to six points over idle Edmonton with its fourth straight win and seventh in the last eight games.
It was Samsonov's 15th career shutout for and followed back-to-back games that he had allowed five goals. The Golden Knights, who last lost in regulation at T-Mobile Arena on Jan. 11 to the New York Rangers, 2-1, extended their home point streak to 10 games (7-0-3) while also improving to 24-6-3 on home ice.
Alex Nedeljkovic finished with 23 saves for Pittsburgh, which lost its fourth consecutive game and eighth in its last nine.
Vegas took a 1-0 lead at 12:58 of the first period when Stone picked up a rebound of a Zach Whitecloud shot by the right side of the net and then backhanded a pass to Pearson cutting down the slot. Pearson then fired a wrist shot into the top left corner of the goal.
Barbashev made it 2-0 early in the second period when he ripped a wrist shot from the left circle past Nedeljkovic's glove and into the top far corner of the net.
Vegas then broke the game open with two goals in within 54 seconds early in the third period.
Saad got the first when he ripped a wrist shot from the top of the right circle over the right shoulder of Nedeljkovic and into the top far corner. Stone followed when he took a Pearson pass coming down the right wing, deked Nedeljkovic and then stuffed a wrist shot inside the right post.

The Open star who learned to play golf with a broom handle can't go back to his homeland over threats to his life
'IT IS NOT SAFE' The Open star who learned to play golf with a broom handle can't go back to his homeland over threats to his life JHONATTAN VEGAS revealed 'it is not safe for me and my family' to go back to his homeland… because of the country's dictator. Vegas, 40, was born in Venezuela where he learnt to play golf with a broom handle. 1 Jhonattan Vegas cannot return to his homeland of Venezuela Credit: Getty But when his father Carlos signed a petition against former president Hugo Chavez, who incidentally hated golf, the Vegas family faced persecution. And with the help of two-time Masters champion Ben Crenshaw, Jhonattan made his escape to the USA in 2002 when he turned 18. Now, with Nicolas Maduro running Venezuela since Chavez's death in 2013, the country has been deemed guilty of systematic attacks on objectors by Amnesty International, with some 'disappearing'. So as much as Vegas wants his kids, nine and six, to see where he grew up in Maturin, he realises it is not worth the risk of kidnapping - or worse. 'I think I'm the only person in Venezuela to get a visa in 24 hours, and part of it was down to the connection between Ben Crenshaw and President George W Bush. 'It's not safe politically, and not safe for me and my family. 'The country is run by a dictator government and I just read a case of an actor getting his passport cancelled and not being able to leave the country. 'I'm not an activist but I've always been very outspoken and clear that what's happening is not right for people.' Vegas now lives in Houston, Texas. But Donald Trump has cracked down on Venezuelans travelling to the US as part of his new travel restrictions and immigration policies. Vegas added: 'I just feel sad for all those people who came into the US with a dream to succeed in life, like I did, and have everything taken away in the blink of an eye just because the president decided to go after them for no reason. 'The US is a country that was built by immigrants. I was welcomed and I'm thankful. 'I know there has to be order but at the same time, create a path for people who want to make the US better. 'That's why I haven't agreed with what the president has done. 'Immigrants don't deserve that type of treatment anywhere in the world.'

New NHL season set for opening day triple header in early October
The National Hockey League season is set to commence on October 7 with a tripleheader, featuring Mike Sullivan's debut as head coach of the New York Rangers against his former team, the Pittsburgh Penguins. The opening night action begins with the Chicago Blackhawks visiting the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers at 5 pm ET. This is followed by the Penguins and Rangers clashing at Madison Square Garden at 8 pm ET, and the evening concludes with the Los Angeles Kings hosting the Colorado Avalanche at 10:30 pm ET. All three fixtures will be broadcast exclusively on ESPN in the United States, and on Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada. The full 2025-26 regular-season schedule is expected on Wednesday afternoon. Prior to their game, the Florida Panthers will raise their second championship banner at Amerant Bank Arena, having beaten the Edmonton Oilers in six games last month to claim the Stanley Cup. Sullivan, 57, coached the Penguins from 2015-25, winning two Stanley Cups. He parted ways with the team on April 28 after they missed the playoffs for a third straight season. On May 2, Sullivan was hired to replace Peter Laviolette as the Rangers' coach, who missed the 2025 playoffs after reaching the Eastern Conference finals the previous year.

Aryna Sabalenka's millionaire boyfriend who was rock through personal tragedy
As the world No.1 women's tennis star Aryna Sabalenka prepares to play in the Wimbledon semi-final, we take a look at the man who has been by her side throughout personal and professional trauma Tennis superstar Aryna Sabalenka has proved why she is ranked as the world 's No1 seed during her 2025 journey at Wimbledon. She hadn't dropped a set at SW19 until she faced Laura Siegemund on Centre Court in the quarter finals. That match proved much tougher for Belarusian Sabalenka as she battled her own frustrations and an outstanding start from Siegemund, seeded 104. The favourite fought back though and eventually won the game through gritted teeth after a tense finale, meaning she now goes through to the semi-final against No 13 seed, Amanda Anisimova. Watching the unexpected drama unfold from the stands was Sabalenka's strapping boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis. At times the 36 year old Brazilian, whose family comes from Greece, looked concerned as he raised his tattooed arms to touch his face whilst watching his girlfriend, 27, face the biggest test of her tournament so far. It's doubtless nothing he can't handle though as he is used to seeing his partner through difficult times. The handsome pair went public in July 2024 with an Instagram post, just four months after her former boyfriend died. American National Hockey League (NHL) star Konstantin Koltsov, 42, passed away in an "apparent suicide". Koltsov made 144 appearances in the NHL for the Pittsburgh Penguins and was the head coach of Russian club Salavat Yulaev at the time of his death. In a statement Miami-Dade police confirmed: "According to investigators on Monday, March 18, 2024, at approximately 12.39am, Bal Harbour Police and Fire Rescue were dispatched to the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort, 9703 Collins Avenue, in reference to a male that jumped from a balcony." They also stated there was "no foul play suspected". He and Sabalenka dated for around three years but they had split up when the tragedy happened. Her last public post to him was a year before his death when she wrote: "I love you @koltsov2021. Happy birthday my love. Peace be with you, strength, patience and health." Following the awful news Sabalenka once again took to Instagram and shared: "Konstantin's death is an unthinkable tragedy and while we were no longer together, my heart is broken. Please respect my privacy and his family's privacy during this difficult time." Sabalenka is thought to have first met Frangulis at the beginning of last year when she became an ambassador for Oakberry - the superfood company he founded. When they went public their multiple pictures appeared to show a couple who were very comfortable with each other. Alongside one cute video where she was riding on her boyfriend's back she commented: My love of my life." It was clear that she was spending plenty of time with her new man following her devastation at having to pull out of Wimbledon 2024 with a shoulder injury on the morning of her first match. The pair shared snaps of them "out and about" and on a tennis court while Sabalenka was trying to get fit again. The muscular Frangulis certainly shares her love of fitness and sport. He is a stock car driver and his health food company, which uses the acai berry as its main ingredient has been so successful it's thought the entrepreneur is now worth an estimated £55million.
