Patrick Mahomes, Xavier Worthy make early connection downfield at Chiefs Training Camp
Kansas City Chiefs fans didn't have to wait long to see star quarterback Patrick Mahomes complete a deep pass to speedy wide receiver Xavier Worthy at training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri, on Tuesday.
In a video that was shared to Twitter by Sports Anchor/Reporter Bryan Hudnell of KRCG 13, Mahomes could be seen connecting with Worthy on a deep strike during 7-on-7 drills.
Worthy, who joined the Chiefs as the No. 28 pick in the 2024 NFL draft, added some much-needed speed to Kansas City's offense last season and put together a spectacular individual performance in the team's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.
Take a look at Mahomes' outstanding pass to Worthy below:
Given the uncertainty surrounding veteran wideout Rashee Rice's status for the 2025 season, Mahomes is likely to rely on Worthy as one of his most targeted receivers in the passing game.
Fans can look forward to seeing more highlight plays from Mahomes and Worthy during training camp and the preseason.

Chiefs' Chris Jones expresses marriage desire after messy split from longtime girlfriend
Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones may have gotten a bit too real at training camp this week. The Chiefs' social media team continued the tradition of asking players a question as they walked through the grounds at training camp. On Wednesday, the question was: "What's one thing on your bucket list you haven't completed yet?" Chiefs defensive lineman George Karlaftis expressed an interest in going to Japan, cornerback Jacobe Covington wanted to go skydiving, and linebacker Brandon George added that he wanted to go to Brazil. But when Jones appeared, he poured his heart out a little bit. "I just wanna be married, I just wanna be loved," he said. The New York Post noted that Jones' remarks came after his ex-girlfriend Sheawna Weathersby accused him of cheating. The two apparently split some time between the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025. "I'm choosing to focus on the positive as I close this chapter on a 9-year relationship. Ultimately Chris' infidelity with the woman he's recently been pictured with led to my decision to end our relationship months ago," she wrote in a post on her Instagram Stories in March, according to the New York Post. "This is especially troubling given her history of harassment, stalking and disrespect towards me, including constantly calling and messaging me and my close friends from text free apps and fake Instagram pages. This behavior has forced me to change my number and has forced Chris to ask her multiple times to please leave me alone and respect our coparenting dynamic." Jones acknowledged in January that he was single, but he has not addressed the cheating allegations. The two share two children together. Jones, a three-time Super Bowl champion and six-time Pro Bowler, is entering his 10th season with the Chiefs. He had five sacks in 15 games last season.

Xavier Worthy returned to practice Friday after equilibrium problem
Chiefs receiver Xavier Worthy returned to practice Friday. Worthy missed Wednesday's practice with concussion-like symptoms that landed him in concussion protocol. Further testing, though, revealed something else. 'It ended up not being a concussion,' Chiefs coach Andy Reid said, via John Dixon of 'He had a little liquid in his ear. They took care of that. It was throwing his equilibrium off just a bit.' Reid said Worthy insisted he didn't have a concussion, but noted that the team always will be cautious with potential head injuries. Right tackle Jawaan Taylor (knee) and linebacker Jeff Bassa (ankle) also returned to practice. Wide receivers Hollywood Brown (ankle) and Skyy Moore (hamstring), tight end Jake Briningstool, safety Deon Bush (hamstring) and cornerback Kristian Fulton (knee) all missed another day of workouts. Linebacker Drue Tranquill left practice early on the front seat of a cart, and Reid said Tranquill strained his back "a little."

Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy returns after diagnosis change
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy returned to practice Friday after further evaluation revealed he did not sustain a concussion, coach Andy Reid said. Worthy's head hit the ground during training camp practice on Tuesday, and he was placed in concussion protocol the next day. Reid said the diagnosis changed after additional testing on Thursday. His return was welcome news for the Chiefs with fellow wide receivers Hollywood Brown (ankle) and Skyy Moore (hamstring) still sidelined on Friday. Worthy, 22, had 59 catches for 638 yards and six touchdowns and also rushed for three TDs in 17 games (13 starts) last season after being selected with the 28th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The rookie added three touchdown receptions in the playoffs, including two in the second half of the Chiefs' 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. The Chiefs open the preseason at Arizona on Aug. 9 and kick off the regular season against the visiting Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 5. --Field Level Media Field Level Media 2025 - All Rights Reserved
