Texas A&M HC Michael Earley has made his first staff change of the 2025 offseason
With the news that Texas A&M baseball coach Michael Earley will return for the 2026 season after Athletic Director Trev Alberts made his final decision on Friday, it was assumed that staff changes were afoot, knowing that last season's issues were much more than poor play by the roster. However, while some thought hitting coach Caleb Longley would be the first to go, Earley has made a somewhat surprising change to start the new regime.
On Saturday, it was revealed that infield coach Will Fox will not be retained. Fox has been with the program for the past six seasons and is considered one of the up-and-coming coaches with a bright future. According to D1Baseball's Kendall Rogers, Fox could join McNeese as the program's newest assistant.
Before serving as an assistant coach, Fox spent the previous three seasons as the director of video and analytics and his first two years in College Station as director of player personnel and video coordinator. Texas A&M's infield defense was average at best last season, leading to several game-changing errors in key games down the stretch.
While this is minor compared to the team's consistency issues at the plate, this is likely just the first change Earley will make on the staff heading into the summer.

Top 10 NHL pick Porter Martone reportedly picks Michigan State
We should get confirmation later today, but there is word that Porter Martone — taken 6th overall by the Flyers — will be going to Michigan State It appears Michigan State hockey is close to adding a major prospect to next year's team. Hockey insider at Sportsnet Elliotte Friedman is reporting that star prospect winger Porter Martone will heading to Michigan State. Martone is one of the top remaining prospects and would be a massive addition to the Spartans' already loaded 2026-27 roster. Martone spent the last three seasons in the OHL where he became a top-tier NHL prospect. The Philadelphia Flyers selected Martone with the No. 6 overall pick in this year's entry draft last month. Michigan State hockey came up short in the battle for fellow star prospect Gavin McKenna so landing Martone is great news. Friendman is expecting an official announcement to come out on Monday, but this is a massive win for the Spartans should it become official as Friedman is reporting. AI makes game-by-game predictions for Dallas Cowboys 2025 season, playoff appearance?
A lot of folks love the promise of Artificial Intelligence, or AI, while others see the myriad of negatives outweighing its utility. It seems inescapable how intertwined it has become in the everyday lives of average citizens, while tech lovers put it through rigorous challenges and most hope to avoid a total and complete takeover of people's ability to think for themselves. For the average sports fan, beyond being able to put a free agent in the uniform of their favorite team, does AI have utility in seeing the things that the armchair quarterback doesn't? We asked OpenAI's ChatGPT to predict the Dallas Cowboys' 2025 schedule, game by game, to see how they felt the club would do in the upcoming season. ChatGPT said it considered roster matchup analysis (positional strength, star power vs depth), coaching and scheme impact (head coaching tendencies, coordinator matchups, gameplanning track record), game environment (home vs away, field type, expected weather), schedule timing, statistical trends (EPA, DVOA, red-zone conversion rates), momentum, historical context and situational modeling (game script, style clash) to come up with their predictions.
