Felon leads cops on 4-hour long slow motion chase with speeds of 7 mph in stolen car

New York Post03-07-2025
A police chase went at a snail's pace early Tuesday morning when an armada of cop cars – their sirens blaring and their lights flashing – followed a fleeing felon in Tennessee at speeds as slow as 7 mph, authorities said.
Video captured by Fox17 shows the surreal scene as the fleeing suspect, Katlyn Wray, 28, putters along on apocalyptically empty highways in Nashville while a fleet of police cars crawls behind her.
When officers finally caught up with Wray and asked why she didn't just pull over, she replied: 'I'm already on paper for ten years anyway,' according to reports.

Katlyn Wray was accused of causing a slow-speed police chase early Tuesday morning in Nashville.
Metropolitan Nashville Police Department
The dramatic but slow-as-molasses chase started just after 3 a.m. when Metro Nashville Police officers found Wray asleep behind the wheel of a stolen Nissan Altima, according to reports.
As four officers approached, Wray woke up, threw the car in reverse and motored away, according to WTVF.

Officers laid out two sets of spike strips to catch her. Wray hit both of them, flattening her front and back tires, but that didn't stop her, according to reports.
She continued to drive on the flat tires for nearly four hours while cops calmly pursued her – traveling at speeds anywhere from 7 mph to a whopping 15 mph, according to WTVF.
Police helicopters hovering overhead joined in the surreal chase.
Department policy prohibits Metro police from applying a PIT maneuver, a police tactic used to spin out a fleeing car, according to Fox 17. Instead, the Tennessee Highway Patrol was called in to execute the maneuver.

Video taken by Fox17 shows the trooper pitting Wray and officers putting her in handcuffs wearing a pair of pink shorts and a hot pink top.
Wray is charged with two counts of vehicle theft, reckless endangerment and four counts felony evading arrest for Tuesday's super slow chase, according to reports.
She was on probation for a November 2023 forgery conviction, and has an extensive criminal history including convictions for aggravated burglary, cocaine possession, criminal simulation and multiple theft convictions around Tennessee, according to reports.

‘Hertz Tried to Sue Us:' P.I. Rents Nissan Altima. Then He Shares What You Should Always Do Before Leaving the Rental Lot

A private investigator offers rental car drivers a tip: Take a video of your vehicle before driving it off of the lot. TikTok user Mike Calnan of Northstar Investigations ( @mikecalnan5 ) posted a video with his rental car advice on July 7. In the video, the private investigator (P.I.) with 30 years' experience is circling a Nissan Altima with visible dents and scrapes. Get the best news, reviews, columns, and more delivered straight to your inbox, daily. back Sign up For more information, read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use . Calnan says private investigators often rent cars. That's how he learned this trick. "Always take videos of the car before you rent it," he says. "Because I dropped it off after the weekend. They called me and said, 'You returned a dented car.'" 'Nope, not having it,' he adds. 'That was a 4th of July party in your parking lot that dented your car.' People largely agree Calnan's advice is sound. Many offered additional advice they've heard about the rental car process over the years. One said, "A rental agent told me to video, take pictures, and then email it all to myself immediately so that there's a time stamp. Best advice ever!" Another agreed. "I video and take pictures," they wrote. "Plus, on the sheet with the car diagram on it I circle every area no matter how tiny the mark is and even on the windshield." A third suggested, "Take a video when returning as well." Trending Now 'What Do I Do?:' Woman's Car Gets Boxed-In On the Street. What Can She Do to Get Out? 'Hertz tried to sue us for damages we did not do,' wrote one. A second said, 'Yup SIXT at Atlanta Airport emailed me a month after I rented a car and said I need to pay 1451.00 for the damaged bumper I forgot to mention, nope here's the video, sorry thank you.' Calnan did not identify the company he rented the car from. Car Rental Advice According to industry data , a quarter of rental car insurance claims are due to preexisting damage. These claims are purportedly often filed because rental car customers aren't meticulous about documenting the state of vehicles before they're driven off the lot. A personal injury attorney says that if you receive notice about a rental car insurance claim that you believe is due to preexisting damage, you can: Provide the company with time-stamped photos and/or videos you took before leaving the lot and upon return; Ask for rental records from after your vehicle return date; Contact your insurance company; and/or Hire an attorney who is knowledgeable about rental car laws. To avoid an unwarranted claim, the easiest thing to do is be obsessive about documenting the condition of the vehicle before you leave the lot. Look over and note each and every paint chip and bumper scuff before ever climbing behind the wheel. If you get into an accident while in your rental car, it's important to contact the company and your insurance provider to report it. If another driver was at fault or if you secured a vehicle protection policy for the rental at checkout, you'll generally be in the clear, per Hertz Car Rental . Your own car insurance may also cover the damages, depending on your policy. If you didn't notice the damage or the vehicle came into your possession already damaged, and you return it to the rental car company, the company may file a rental car insurance claim. This may come at a shock if the claim is over damage caused by someone else. That way, as Calnan says in his TikTok's caption, you may 'avoid this nonsense happening!' Advertisement Several of the men allegedly responded to online advertisements posted on 'known commercial sex websites' by undercover officers, while others were arrested after allegedly making street-level offers for sex to undercover officers who were on the sidewalk, according to police reports. The operation was launched after the police department's Human Trafficking Unit received 'actionable intelligence indicating that women in the area were being systematically exploited for commercial sex,' police said. The first arrest came early Thursday morning when shortly before 7:20 a.m. Marmandis pulled up in a black Nissan Altima and offered an undercover officer $20 for a oral sex, police wrote in an incident report. A short time later, Pena was arrested after responding to an online advertisement and allegedly agreed to pay $275 for an hour of sex, according to the report. He allegedly went to Home2 Suites by Hilton at 15 Jan Karski Way shortly after 8:10 a.m. to meet the undercover officer and was arrested, the report said. Advertisement Galdamez Surio also responded to an online advertisement and allegedly agreed to pay $200 for sex, the report said. Surio went to a Holiday Inn at 69 Boston St. and texted the undercover officer to say he had arrived, but as officers approached him, Galdamez Surio allegedly fled on foot through the South Bay Center parking lot and into a Target store, where he allegedly took a shirt off a rack and put it on, police wrote in the report. Galdamez Surio then left the Target and fled into the parking lot, where he was arrested, police said. Galdamez Surio suffered foot injuries during the chase and was treated by Boston EMS before he was booked, police said. Mishra was arrested after he allegedly responded to an undercover advertisement and agreed to pay $125 for sex, according to the police report. Mishra showed up at a Holiday Inn at 69 Boston St. about 3:20 p.m. on Thursday to meet the undercover officer and was placed under arrest, the report said. Less than an hour later, Williams pulled up to a sidewalk near 40 Newmarket Square in a gray Chevrolet Malibu and allegedly offered an undercover officer $10 for oral sex. He was then arrested and taken to Nashua Street jail for booking, police wrote in the report. Earlier that day, police said Djadoune allegedly responded to an advertisement by texting an undercover officer and agreed to pay $350 for one hour of sex, according to the report. Djadoune then went to 15 Jan Karski Way, the address for Home2 Suites by Hilton, to meet the undercover officer and was arrested, the report said. Advertisement Around the same time, Raj allegedly responded to an advertisement by texting an undercover officer who was posing as a 15-year-old girl, according to the report. Police said Raj allegedly offered to pay $300 for 2 hours of sex and went to the same hotel on Jan Karski Way, where he was arrested, the report said. About an hour later, around noon, one of the undercover officers was contacted by Vinci, who allegedly sought to pay $80 for a half hour of oral sex, the report said. Vinci went to Home2 Suites on Jan Karski Way and was arrested, police said. Shortly before 1 p.m., Colocho allegedly pulled up in a vehicle at 46 Newmarket Square and offered an undercover officer $15 for oral sex and was arrested, police wrote in the report. Djadoune, Raj, Vinci, and Pena pleaded were arraigned in the South Boston division of Boston Municipal Court on Thursday and pleaded not guilty, according to court records. Williams pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday, and Mishra is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 19, records show. D.A.R.E. cop stripped of badge after own bodycam catches affair with married teacher

How D.A.R.E. they! A Tennessee cop who taught the D.A.R.E. drug-prevention program in schools has been stripped of his badge after his body camera caught him getting frisky with a married teacher in her classroom. Lebanon Police officer Brian Gilley's body cam captured him flirting with teacher Shelby Moss in her Castle Heights Elementary School classroom — and even sharing a long, steamy kiss soon after a student had interrupted them, Fox 17 reported. The pair later confessed to also having sexual interactions on school grounds — even while the cop accepts kids could still have been on campus. 4 Shelby Moss resigned from her teaching job in May. WZTV Gilley admitted that he had 'done wrong' as he pleaded for leniency at his decertification hearing in April — but was permanently banned from serving in law enforcement in May. 'You engaged in sexual activity at a school as an officer who was supposed to protect children,' said William 'Chip' Kain, the executive secretary of the Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training [POST] Commission that voted to oust him. 4 Gilley is barred from working in law enforcement in Tennessee ever again. Lebanon Police Department The married teacher was suspended and later resigned. The Tennessee State Board of Education is reviewing whether to strip her teaching license. It is not immediately clear why Gilley's bodycam switched on while he flirted with the married teacher in August last year. It caught them talking about teasing each other, with Gilley telling his mistress, 'You just complain I don't touch you enough.' 'You're the one [who] teases me all night long,' he said, tellingly. A one point, a student interrupted them. But as soon as the coast was clear, the cheating teacher walked to the cop, embraced him and gave him a big smooch. 'Oh god,' Gilley gasped when they finally separated. 'I'll see you tomorrow,' he added, panting as he walked out the side door. The sexual activity they admitted to came a month later, but was not caught on bodycam. Screenshots of text messages between the pair obtained by Fox 17 show them talking about dressing up for Christmas and exchanging 'I love you's. Police and school officials were tipped off to the relationship in December 2024. 4 Screenshots show the pair exchanging flirty text messages. Lebanon Police Department 4 The pair allegedly had sexual relations at a Tennessee Elementary School. WZTV Gilley initially denied the sexual relationship during the internal inquiry, but later confessed and resigned from the force. Moss, who police confirmed was married, was suspended from the Lebanon Special School District for two days but formally resigned in May. The district reported the incident to the Tennessee State Board of Education which is reviewing whether or not Moss will lose her teaching license.
