Martin Luther King Jr.'s daughter speaks out on Angel Reese drama with Robert Griffin III

The daughter of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. has weighed in on the ongoing drama between WNBA star Angel Reese and former NFL quarterback and former ESPN host Robert Griffin III. King's daughter, Bernice King, responded to a post by Griffin that said, 'We need more people ready to build bridges between us and not walls to divide us. Advertisement 'The only way to find unity is talking through our differences in opinion and life experiences to find the best way forward.' King wrote, 'I agree. That's why I suggest you call Angel Reese and stop posting about her.' King's post prompted a wave of viral reactions and debate by online users. Reese even shared a post from another user that referenced the situation. Advertisement 'When MLK daughter gotta tell you to shut tf up talking about Angel,' said the post Reese shared. Griffin claimed Thursday someone from the Chicago Sky star's 'inner circle' told him the WNBA forward 'hates' Caitlin Clark. 5 Chicago Sky's Angel Reese dribbles the ball up the court during a game against the Dallas Wings on July 9, 2025. IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect Griffin wrote several paragraphs on social media, first coming to the defense of Reese after a racist image of her NBA 2K26 appeared. He said there was 'no place for racism in the world' and that Reese 'should never be called or depicted as a monkey.' Advertisement He added that he was quiet about Reese because of the hate he and his family received over the most recent discourse in May after a contentious moment between the two WNBA stars. 'That will never be OK with me. I never attacked her or her family when I stated and backed up with clear basketball evidence that Angel Reese hates Caitlin Clark. It's sports. Everybody won't like each other,' he added. 'People in Angel's inner circle called me and told me I was right, and Angel Reese has grown to hate Caitlin Clark because of the media always asking her about Caitlin and being constantly compared to her. 'Some people made it about race, but I never did and never will. Instead of becoming the villain in anyone's story, I decided to just not. All that being said, Angel Reese or any Black man or woman should never be called or depicted as a Monkey. Ever.' 5 Robert Griffin III speaks to an audience during Fanatics Fest NYC 2025 at Javits Center in New York on June 20, 2025. Getty Images Reese appeared to respond to Griffin's remarks in a separate post. 'lying on this app when everybody know the first and last name of everybody in my circle for clout is nastyyyy work,' she wrote. Reese's mother also claimed Griffin was lying about talking with the basketball player's 'inner circle.' 'Whomever U say 'called' U is not in her circle 2 speak on her feelings towards a media/fandom made up beef,' she wrote. 'Just stay on that side bc the doors are closed over here.' 5 Angel Reese drives past a Dallas Wings player at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Ill. on July 9m 2025. Advertisement 'I spoke up in support of Angel Reese against racism not to start drama,' he wrote on X. 'But I won't let anyone twist the truth just because it's inconvenient to them. Instead of trying to check me, just tighten up your circle. 'They calling me and saying you hate Caitlin Clark, not the other way around. I have zero interest in being the villain in anyone's story. I just want to have fun, tell the truth and celebrate sports. But I won't pretend or lie just to protect feelings.' Griffin made the initial claim that Reese 'hates' Clark after the Sky and Fever stars got into a heated skirmish in May.

Today's ‘Wordle' #1484 Hints, Clues And Answer For Saturday, July 12th

How to solve today's Wordle. Looking for Friday's Wordle hints, clues and answer? You can find them here: Not only is it Saturday, it's also the 14th anniversary of the publication of A Dance With Dragons, the fifth—and most recent—in George R.R. Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire fantasy series. Fourteen years we've waited for The Winds Of Winter, and perhaps we will wait another fourteen before it sees the light of day. It's also my son's fifteenth birthday. Happy birthday kiddo! He turned one when A Dance With Dragons came out, which made reading that book a little trickier in terms of time and energy. I still devoured it, of course. I didn't think my kids would be nearing adulthood before the next book came out. My daughter had just turned four at the time and now she's 18! Life comes at you fast. Okay, enough rambling. Let's solve this Wordle! How To Solve Today's Wordle The Hint: Banishment. The Clue: This Wordle begins and ends with the same letter. Okay, spoilers below! The answer is coming! . . . Today's Wordle Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here. SHAME wasn't the best opening guess—what a shame!—but CLOUT slashed the 162 remaining words down to just 10. I went for BILGE because I could think of a few 'B' words, but this was just off the mark. Thankfully, only EXILE remained. Huzzah! Today's Wordle Bot 0 points for the Bot and I thanks to guessing in four and tying. Our July totals remain: Erik: -2 points Wordle Bot: 8 points The word "exile" comes from Latin exilium, meaning "banishment," from exul or exsul, meaning "a banished person." This is likely formed from ex- ("out") and a root meaning "to leap or move," though the exact second element is uncertain. It entered English via Old French exil. Annie Potts Joins Fox's Doc Martin Adaptation — What Does This Mean for Her Role on Georgie & Mandy?

Meemaw no more? Annie Potts (Designing Women, Young Sheldon) has been cast in Best Medicine, Fox's adaptation of the popular UK series Doc Martin. More from TVLine Georgie & Mandy's Emily Osment, EP Talk Threat to First Marriage (Chris Gorham!) and Season 2 Plans Georgie & Mandy Boss Talks Mary's Big Bet on Georgie — Is There a Big Bang Twist We Didn't See Coming? Boston Blue Twist! Blue Bloods Spinoff Recasts a Reagan Family Member (and in Turn Explains Danny's Big Move) Described as a 'charmingly complicated one-hour comedy,' Best Medicine centers on Dr. Martin Best (played by The Good Wife's Josh Charles), 'a brilliant surgeon who abruptly leaves his illustrious career in Boston to become the general practitioner in a quaint East Coast fishing village where he spent summers as a child. Unfortunately, Martin's blunt and borderline rude bedside manner rubs the quirky, needy locals the wrong way, especially local school teacher Louisa Glasson (Timeless' Abigail Spencer), however tenacity is the creed of everyone in their small village, and the people who live there may be exactly what the doctor ordered.' Potts will inhabit the series-regular role of Aunt Joan, 'a strong, sturdy, lobster woman who still goes out every day on her boat, and no one better tell her to stop if they know what's good for them. She's salt of the earth and underneath her stern demeanor she has a heart as big as the sea. She loves her small Maine town and her cranky nephew. She's loyal but stubborn, the kind of woman you want to be around and not disappoint. But even Joan will have a few secrets — including why she ended up losing touch with Martin so many years before.' The ensemble also includes Josh Segarra, who was previously cast as Mark Mylow, a lovable sheriff who is excited to befriend Martin… though maybe less so once Martin grows close to Mark's ex-girlfriend, Louisa! Potts recurred throughout Season 1 of CBS' Young Sheldon spinoff, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, appearing in four (out of 22) episodes. Production on Best Medicine will take place this summer in upstate New York and premiere on Fox at midseason, which should not preclude Potts from resurfacing on Georgie & Mandy at some point in Season 2 (which received a full, 22-episode order and will air Thursdays this fall). 2025-26 TV Preview: Every New Comedy, Drama and Unscripted Show View List Best of TVLine Stars Who Almost Played Other TV Roles — on Grey's Anatomy, NCIS, Lost, Gilmore Girls, Friends and Other Shows TV Stars Almost Cast in Other Roles Fall TV Preview: Who's In?
