A total of 88,518 units are impacted by the recall, covering the following Anker power bank models:
A1257 (Anker Power Bank 10K, 22.5W)
A1681 (Anker Zolo Power Bank 20K, 30W, Built-in USB-C and Lightning Cable)
A1689 (Anker Zolo Power Bank 20K, 30W, Built-in USB-C Cable)
A1647 (Anker Power Bank 20,000mAh, 22.5W, Built-in USB-C Cable)
A1652 (MagGo Power Bank 10,000mAh, 7.5W, Stand)
The ministry urged all consumers to immediately stop using any of the affected products and to contact Anker to arrange for a replacement or full refund.

How to check your device
Consumers who own an Anker power bank are encouraged to check the model number located on the bottom or side of the device. If the model matches one of the recalled units, users should proceed to verify the serial number or submit proof of purchase through Anker's

Steps for consumers
If your power bank is confirmed to be part of the recall:
Stop using the device immediately.
Do not dispose of it until confirmation is received from Anker.
Complete the Recall Claim form on Anker's website.
Follow instructions for receiving a replacement product or refund.
Disposal instructions
Once Anker confirms that your unit qualifies for the recall, the company will arrange for the pickup or shipment of the recalled product. Consumers are urged not to dispose of recalled batteries in regular trash, household recycling bins, or battery drop-off boxes at retail locations, as these facilities are not equipped to handle defective lithium-ion products.
Recalled batteries must be processed by certified facilities due to the elevated fire risk.

The cable has now come ashore at Port Said on the Mediterranean […] Telecom Egypt, the country’s integrated telecom operator and a subsea cables provider, together with SubCom, the global supplier of subsea data systems, has announced the completion of two critical landings of the Southeast Asia-Middle East-Western Europe 6 (SEA-ME-WE-6) subsea cable system in Egypt. The cable has now come ashore at Port Said on the Mediterranean coast and at Ras Ghareb on the Red Sea. Telecom Egypt facilitated the connection between the two coastal landing points by ensuring diverse and resilient terrestrial crossing routes were in place. With this, the SEA-ME-WE-6 subsea cable has completed its landing activities in Egypt. SEA-ME-WE-6 is the sixth edition of the SEA-ME-WE cable system family. The system connects Singapore (Tuas) to France (Marseille), crossing Egypt’s territory terrestrially. SubCom serves as the contractor responsible for building the subsea cable system. Upon completion, the SEA-ME-WE-6 cable system will establish a strategic connection between Africa, Asia and Europe through its 17 landing points, significantly enhancing global network infrastructure. Spanning a distance of 21,700 km, the system’s consortium comprises 16 major subsea cable providers, including Telecom Egypt, alongside BEYON B.S.C (Bahrain), Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC, Bharti Airtel Ltd. (India), China United Network Communications Group Company Limited, Dhiraagu (Maldives), Djibouti Telecom, Microsoft (United States), Mobily (Saudi Arabia), Orange (France), PCCW Global , Singtel (Singapore), Sri Lanka Telecom, Telekom Malaysia, Telin (Indonesia) and Trans World Associates (Pakistan).
