Homeowners on TikTok are falling in love with the sweet surprise a couple received when moving into their new home. TikTok user @madisonelizabethgrace posted a now-viral video of the sentimental gift her and her husband, David, were given by their home's previous owners. Included was a note and the photographic history of their newly purchased residence.
"The prior owner (who owned the house since it was originally built 30+ years ago) left us the sweetest surprise - a note saying 'this is your house…from the beginning' along with Polaroids that she took of the home construction & build," Madison wrote in the caption of her TikTok post.
Selling a home is a process often filled with emotion, and it often includes leaving behind a place you loved and hoping someone else will care for it the same way you did. Passing along the stories of memories made in that house to the next owners is a way to help keep the history alive, and Madison's former homeowners aren't the only ones doing it.
"Our previous owner did a few sweet things like this and now I still text her about updates we make or questions etc, even told her we made their spare bedroom into a nursery," commented TikTok user WinnyTheAussie.
Comments flooded Madison's TikTok with adoration for the transparent thoughtfulness of the photos and the feelings they evoked, leaving many viewers in love with the idea and fellow homeowners chiming in with their own similar experiences.
"Our home came with a binder. Pictures, permits, anything they changed over the years. My favorite is that on our wall is a photo of the original homeowners on the front porch. Over 100 years later and that photo has been passed down from one homeowner to the next..." read a comment from TikTok user kaymfka.
Numerous responses to the video of people sharing their own stories proved the idea of gifting the next owners the story of your former home is becoming an ongoing trend, and we're here for this incredible gesture. Whether you've recently moved into a new place, or are updating the house you've called home for years, consider taking photos of any changes you make and documenting the history over time. Not only will future owners enjoy learning about the evolution of their house, but you'll have memories to share with your family, photos to hang on the wall, and stories to reminisce on for years to come.
Madison has continued to chronicle the transformation of her new house, this time in video form. She posts TikToks of her and David sprucing up their new abode, tackling the unexpected tasks of homeownership, and prepping a nursery for their baby, due later this summer. Needless to say, they're continuing the history of love and heart in their beloved new (old) home.

Box Office Queen Becomes the Highest-Grossing Lead Actor of All Time

Box Office Queen Becomes the Highest-Grossing Lead Actor of All Time originally appeared on Parade. Scarlett Johansson just made box office history. The Oscar-nominated actress, 40, has officially become the highest-grossing lead actor of all time, surpassing her fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe alums Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Jr., according to verified data from The Numbers. The milestone comes on the heels of a massive opening weekend for Jurassic World Rebirth, which debuted July 3 and earned $147.3 million domestically and $318.3 million globally through Sunday. That colossal opening pushed Johansson's total global box office haul for leading and ensemble-lead roles to an astonishing $14.61 billion — edging Jackson's $14.60 billion and Downey Jr.'s $14.3 billion. What's more: Johansson got there with just 36 films playing lead roles, compared to Jackson's 71 and Downey's 45. Her average worldwide gross stands at $405.9 million per film, significantly outpacing both actors. Many of Johansson's biggest hits have come from her decade-long portrayal of Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in the MCU, including Avengers: Endgame ($2.7B), Infinity War ($2B), The Avengers ($1.5B), and Age of Ultron ($1.4B). Outside of Marvel, Johansson headlined major earners like The Jungle Book ($951M), Sing ($631M), and Lucy ($457M). Her latest win comes from a new franchise. In Jurassic World Rebirth, Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a hardened mercenary brought into the action by a pharmaceutical executive (Rupert Friend) to team up with a paleontologist (Jonathan Bailey) on a high-stakes mission involving dinosaur DNA. Clearly, Johansson is no longer just Marvel's most elite assassin. She's Hollywood's most bankable star. Period. Jurassic World Rebirth is now playing in theaters nationwide. Little Caesars Confirms ‘Fantastic' Collab Fans ‘Can't Wait' to Try

Little Caesars Confirms 'Fantastic' Collab Fans 'Can't Wait' to Try originally appeared on Parade. Get ready, Little Caesars fans, because the pizza chain's newest collaboration isn't just 'fantastic'– it's a first for the brand. Little Caesars is joining forces with Marvel ahead of the new movie The Fantastic Four: First Steps with the launch of its Fantastic Four-N-One pizza. The limited-time pizza has a little something for everyone, as instead of being one specific type of pie, it features four different popular topping combinations. The pizza, available for $7.99, has two slices each of classic cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage and bacon, as well as pepperoni and jalapeño. Related: Additionally, the brand is rolling out its first-ever exclusive film-inspired pizza boxes, which were designed in collaboration with Marvel. When pieced together, they create a unique full-team image. But the fun doesn't stop there, as fans who spend $20 or more at Little Caesars before August 10, 2025, will receive a code on their Little Caesars receipt for $4 off a movie ticket from Fandango to see The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Little Caesars debuted a new retro-futuristic commercial that highlights the pizza and gives fans a sneak peek of the first appearance in a live-action Marvel movie of Giganto, an iconic monster in the Fantastic Four's history. Fans took to social media to share their excitement, commenting on the brand's Instagram that they 'can't wait' to try the new offering and declaring that they'll 'be enjoying every second' of 'My favorite pizza with my favorite group of marvel characters ever.' 'Giganto doesn't get any slices because he didn't ask nicely,' teased a third fan. Pepsi Pops Off in Pointed Message About 'Iconic' Coca-Cola Campaign

Pepsi Pops Off in Pointed Message About 'Iconic' Coca-Cola Campaign originally appeared on Parade. Pepsi is taking direct aim at its biggest competitor—The Coca-Cola Company—in its new campaign. On Thursday—just days after Coca-Cola delighted fans with confirmation that Diet Cherry Coke would be returning to shelves—the beverage giant headquartered in Purchase, N.Y., revealed it would be releasing limited-edition Pepsi bottles featuring shoutouts to "popular eats like burgers, hot dogs, wings and more" in a play on its business rival's famous "Share a Coke" campaign. "Real flavor magic happens when Pepsi meets great food, elevating every bite with bold refreshment," Pepsi's VP of marketing Gustavo Reyna said in a statement. "That's why our limited-edition 'Share a Pepsi' bottles showcase fan-favorite grill classics, inspiring everyone to grab their go-to dish and enjoy it with an ice-cold Pepsi." Since the Coca-Cola Company's "iconic" ads officially returned earlier this summer, with both names and casual phrases (like "Bro," "Dude," "Sis," and "Friend") jacketing select bottles, Pepsi is now arguing that promo got it all wrong, suggesting it's the food—not the people—that make the experience of drinking the bubbly beverage better. Related: "The best way to share a cola is with a taco, not a Tom, and with a pizza, not a Paige," the company teased in its June 12 announcement. "With its unique flavor and sweetness, balanced with a refreshingly crisp fizz, Pepsi is the perfect accompaniment to cut through delectable eats. 'Share a Pepsi' encourages fans to savor the bold flavors of Pepsi and their favorite foods first, then bring friends and family together - because unforgettable taste creates lasting memories." Those looking to grab a "custom" Pepsi bottle can do so by entering for a chance to win a free 20-ounce Pepsi Zero Sugar by sharing which foods they'd #ShareAPepsi with on select Pepsi social media posts. Fans can also enter for a chance to win "the better tasting zero sugar cola, Pepsi Zero Sugar," online via the official contest page. Fans attending the EEEEEATSCON food festival in Los Angeles, Calif., June 28—29 are instructed to stop by the Pepsi activation to play a game in exchange for a complimentary 'Share a Pepsi' bottle, only while supplies last.
