The blade of the machete is over one-and-a-half feet long.
An unlucky knife thug was caught armed with a huge blade by a police dog - while the pooch and dog handlers were in the middle of a training exercise.
The male in question had been seen acting suspiciously in Larbert, near Falkirk, and the alarm was raised, resulting in officers being asked to attend the scene.

That meant that the four dog handlers who were training close by attended the scene. A Police Dog named Foss was utilised and the animal helped recover the blade.

The black-handled machete measures more than two feet and has a blade which is more than one-and-a-half feet long. A picture of the deadly weapon was shared on social media.
The weapon looked like its handle is metal and has been covered with dark electrical tape, and the weapon had what appeared to be string at the bottom.

The string seems to act as a wrist strap and the logo for American knife manufacturing firm Mtech USA can be seen at the base of the blade on the weapon.

A post on the Police Scotland Forth Valley Facebook page read: "When a male was reported acting suspiciously close to Larbert he clearly wasn't expecting 4 dog handlers to be training around the corner.

A picture of the dog was also published as part of the post, and we have contacted Police Scotland for further information on the incident.

Ghislaine Maxwell disappears from prison after push for Presidential pardon

The convicted teen sex trafficker, known as Jeffrey Epstein's 'Madam' has reportedly vanished from the US Bureau of Prisons custody register and has been transferred to cushier federal prison in Texas. Ghislaine Maxwell has disappeared from prison has she ramps up her efforts to secure a pardon from Donald Trump. ‌ The convicted teen sex trafficker, known as Jeffrey Epstein's 'Madam' has reportedly vanished from the US Bureau of Prisons custody register and has been transferred to cushier federal prison in Texas. ‌ Maxwell, who groomed girls for her paedophile ex-boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein, has been serving a 20-year sentence at the time low-security Federal Correctional Institution in Tallahassee, Florida, The Mirror Reports. ‌ However, as of today, her official prison status is listed as"Not in BOP custody" - despite no public announcement of her release or scheduled transfer. Maxwell, though, has been moved to the cushy Federal Prison Camp Bryan, a minimum-security facility in southeast Texas known for less restrictive conditions. The prison is home to Elizabeth Holmes, the American biotechnology entrepreneur and convicted fraudster and Jennifer Shah an American television personality and former cast member of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. ‌ The transfer comes just days after Maxwell had met privately with officials from the Department of Justice, including Trump's Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, as part of a high-stakes negotiation for leniency in exchange for information. Maxwell is said to be offering her cooperation on the wider Epstein investigation, and her legal team has openly floated the prospect of a full pardon or a commuted sentence from Trump, who is currently battling mounting pressure over the release of files tied to Epstein's sprawling trafficking network. Her lawyer, David Oscar Markus, confirmed that the 63-year-old is prepared to 'testify openly and honestly ' before Congress but only if she is granted immunity. 'If her conditions are not met, she will invoke her Fifth Amendment right and decline to testify,' Markus said in a statement. ‌ The House Oversight Committee, which has already subpoenaed Maxwell and has set a deposition date of 11 August, has rejected her immunity plea. Her expected testimony could mark the first time she speaks publicly under oath since her 2022 conviction for luring underage girls into Epstein's orbit. The timing of her transfer, disappearance from the federal prison system's public records, and sudden re-emergence in Washington's political crosshairs has raised eyebrows among critics, who fear a backroom deal may be underway. ‌ Maxwell's legal manoeuvring also comes as Trump was directly asked this week about the possibility of granting her a pardon. 'Well, I'm allowed to give her a pardon,' he replied. 'But nobody's approached me with it.' Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Despite repeated promises from Trump and his allies, including a campaign vow to 'release all the Epstein files', key documents remain sealed, including any list of alleged co-conspirators or clients. ‌ The secrecy has infuriated survivors, lawmakers, and even members of Trump's own party, with renewed calls in recent weeks for full transparency and the unsealing of over 100,000 pages of federal investigative material. Maxwell's sudden re-emergence as a central player in the scandal threatens to deepen the crisis, as victims' advocates argue that any leniency would be a grave injustice. 'She is a convicted predator,' one Epstein victim told the Mirror. "To even entertain a pardon is to spit in the face of every survivor who came forward.' Maxwell was sentenced in 2022 for trafficking minors for Epstein between 1994 and 2004. Prosecutors described her as 'an integral part of the abuse,' helping to recruit, groom, and exploit underage girls on behalf of Epstein and his wealthy associates. Epstein died in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial - a death officially ruled a suicide but still mired in controversy.

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with two violent sexual attacks that took place on the same night in Glasgow 21-years ago. The frightening incidents saw three men prey on two separate male victims in a park area next to the River Kelvin in 2003. A 22-year-old man was first approached by the three men who physically and sexually assaulted him late on Saturday, September 2003. Around two hours later, in the early hours of Sunday, 14 September, 2003, a 25-year-old man was also physically and sexually assaulted by three men. Over two decades on police yesterday arrested 65-year-old old man who was charged in connection with both incidents. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. Detectives say the investigation is still ongoing to identify and trace the two other male suspects. They have also appealed to any victims who suffered a similar attack to come forward and report it to the police, echoing the appeal shared by Strathclyde Police in 2003. Detective Inspector John Dowds said: 'These incidents were frightening and distressing for the victims who have had to wait over 20 years for someone to be arrested in connection with what happened. 'Time really is no barrier to a police investigation. We are committed to exploring all lines of enquiry and using advancements in forensics to ensure suspects are identified. 'At the time of these incidents my counterpart in Strathclyde Police appealed for anyone who may have been the victim of a similar attack to come forward and report it to police. I would echo this message today; anyone who has concerns should come forward and speak to officers, be assured you will be listened to and taken seriously.'
