Caitlin Clark Reacts to Indiana Pacers' Comeback Performance in Game 1 of NBA Finals

Caitlin Clark Reacts to Indiana Pacers' Comeback Performance in Game 1 of NBA Finals originally appeared on Athlon Sports. WNBA superstar and Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark had a simple yet powerful five-word reaction on social media following the Indiana Pacers' thrilling Game 1 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals. The Pacers swung home-court advantage after Tyrese Haliburton scored the game-winning mid-range jump shot to seal a 111-110 victory at Paycom Center. Advertisement 'You can't make it up,' Clark wrote in all caps in a post on X. Clark has been a dedicated supporter of the Pacers throughout the season and has been spotted at several home games for the Pacers this postseason. The 2024 All-WNBA First Team guard describes the Pacers as the 'greatest comeback team' she has ever seen. Each comeback Indiana has staged throughout this postseason has followed a familiar script: erasing a late double-digit deficit, capped by a phenomenal clutch shot from Tyrese Haliburton—who is a perfect 4-for-4 in the final two seconds of fourth quarters and overtimes in these playoffs. Advertisement Remember when Haliburton was voted the most overrated player by some of his NBA peers? Those same people should call him Mr. Clutch. 'When it comes to the moments, [Tyrese Haliburton] wants the ball,' Pacers Center Myles Turner said. 'He wants to be the one to hit that shot. He doesn't shy away from the moment, and it's very important this time of the year to have a go-to guy. He just keeps finding a way, and we keep putting the ball in the right positions, and the rest is history.' In his NBA Finals debut, Haliburton will look to continue his legendary quest—to silence doubters and hoist the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy. Tyrese Haliburton Faces Achilles Recovery with Positivity and Humor

Tyrese Haliburton Faces Achilles Recovery with Positivity and Humor originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Indiana Pacers superstar point guard Tyrese Haliburton is in the midst of his long road to recovery from a devastating torn Achilles injury he suffered in Game 7 of the NBA finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Advertisement Haliburton recently invested in a bell to signal when he needs his girlfriend Jade Jones' help during his recovery. 'This guy did NOT order a bell guys please,' Jones captioned in a clip posted on X. Jones, who has been by Haliburton's side since their days at Iowa State University, has proven to show unwavering support throughout his recovery process. Haliburton appears to be in good spirits as he continues to make light of what could otherwise be a dark situation. The 25-year-old had a successful surgery on his Achilles tendon and vows to be the best version of himself when he returns from injury. Advertisement 'I'm grateful for every single experience that's led me here. I'm grateful for all the love from the hoop world. I don't 'have to' go through this. I get to go through this. I'm grateful for the road that lies ahead. Watch how I come back from this. So, give me some time. I'll dust myself off and get right back to being the best version of Tyrese Haliburton,' Haliburton wrote in an Instagram post. While the path back to recovery may be long, Haliburton will lean on a positive mindset and a strong support system to get him through this minor setback on the way to a major comeback. Indiana Pacers Make Major Free Agency Decisions

Indiana Pacers Make Major Free Agency Decisions originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Indiana Pacers are no strangers to shocking the world. After making the NBA Finals, usually there would be real belief that the Pacers would be able to make it back to the championship series, although Tyrese Haliburton's torn Achilles put a damper on that. Advertisement Still, the Pacers have a key core in place and one of the best supporting casts in the NBA, and they seem poised to run things back with Andrew Nembhard playing a bigger role on offense. Hours before NBA free agency starts during the evening of June 30, the Pacers extended qualifying offers to Isaiah Jackson, Quenton Jackson, and Enrique Freeman. Isaiah missed all but five games last season with a torn Achilles, but he can shore up the depth behind Myles Turner, provided that the veteran is re-signed. Both Quenton and Freeman were on two-way contracts last season, and they will likely be joined by second-round pick Kam Jones. Advertisement In addition to that, the Pacers picked up Tony Bradley's $2.9 million team option for next season. Bradley's contract is non-guaranteed, but it looks like the Pacers have faith in his rebounding and floor spacing off the bench. Bradley averaged 4.4 points in 14 regular-season games and played in Games 5, 6, and 7 of the Finals, although a hip injury kept him out of most of the postseason. While Indiana will likely take a step back next season with Haliburton out, expect them to retain all of their depth pieces heading into next year.
