Vivo V60 launching in India on August 12 and here is everything we know about it

India Today2 days ago
Vivo will launch its latest V-series phone, the Vivo V60, in India on August 12. The company has confirmed several key specs before launch. The full design has also been revealed. Where the V50 went for wide and ultrawide camera setup, with the V50, Vivo is going back to its roots, sort of, by giving a proper telephoto to once again enable portrait photography – while keeping the ultrawide as well. So, while the V50 had dual cameras, the V60 has three – wide, ultrawide, and zoom. Vivo continues to offer ZEISS tuning here as well meaning that the V60 could be one of the most capable and compelling phones in the market at launch.advertisementThere are other big upgrades, too, chiefly around performance and longevity. The V60 is confirmed to come rocking Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, a step-up over the V50's Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. RAM and storage options are yet to be announced. The battery is bigger. The V60 packs a larger 6,500mAh, 500mAh more than the V50. Vivo hasn't specified charging speed yet. The V50 can do 90W. Given that the battery is bigger, the V60 could get 80W charging, but we'll see.Coming back to the cameras, the Vivo V60 is set to arrive with a total of four cameras. For the primary, Vivo is using a 50-megapixel Sony lMX766 sensor paired to an unspecified lens with optical image stabilisation. The secondary and tertiary cameras use a 50-megapixel Sony lMX882 with telephoto lens with optical image stabilisation and another unspecified ultrawide camera. The front camera is a 50-megapixel paired to a lens with 92-degree field of view (FOV). All the cameras get ZEISS treatment. Vivo has also put some of its recent photography chops such as stage and four-season portraits along with a bunch of AI quirks like AI Magic Move.
Vivo will offer the V60 in a choice of Auspicious Gold, Mist Gray, and Moonlit Blue. The phone will have a high degree of dust and water resistance with IP68 and IP69 ratings. The display will be quad-curved and the phone will run the latest Vivo Funtouch OS 15.Going by the history of these phones, we can expect Vivo to price the V60 at around Rs 40,000.
