Vivo V60 Set to Launch in India on August 12 With 6500mAh Battery and 100x ZEISS Zoom
Vivo is gearing up to unveil its latest V-series smartphone — the Vivo V60 — in India, with an expected launch date of August 12, 2025. While the company has begun teasing the phone on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, several leaks have surfaced online, revealing major specifications and design elements of this upcoming mid-premium device. The Vivo V60 appears to mark a significant design shift from its predecessors in the V40 and V50 series. Taking visual cues from the recently released Vivo X200 FE, the V60 sports a modern look with a capsule-style rear camera module, a nearly bezel-less front display with a centered hole-punch cutout, and gently curved 2.5D edges that aim to offer a more ergonomic grip compared to the flatter edges seen in previous models. According to well-known tipster Pro Tech Village on X, the Vivo V60 will feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, offering a smooth and vibrant visual experience. Under the hood, the phone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, a capable mid-range processor that also powers devices like the Realme 15 Pro. However, what truly sets the Vivo V60 apart from the competition is its massive 6,500mAh battery, combined with support for 90W fast charging. This generous battery capacity is one of the largest in its segment and should comfortably support day-long usage for most users. The phone also brings added durability with IP68 and IP69 certifications, ensuring strong protection against water and dust. On the camera front, Vivo continues its long-standing collaboration with ZEISS optics. The V60 is rumored to boast a 100x digital zoom capability, alongside a versatile triple rear camera setup. This includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto lens also featuring OIS, and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. Selfie enthusiasts can expect a high-resolution 50MP front camera, ideal for sharp selfies and crystal-clear video calls. The smartphone will likely arrive in three colour options — Mist Grey, Moonlit Blue, and Auspicious Gold, catering to both bold and subtle style preferences. While Vivo has yet to confirm the official pricing, industry insiders suggest that the Vivo V60 may launch in India between ₹37,000 and ₹40,000, positioning it slightly above the Vivo V50, which debuted at ₹34,999. With its mix of standout battery life, ZEISS-branded camera capabilities, and a sleek new design, the Vivo V60 is shaping up to be a strong contender in the mid-premium Android market. All eyes are now on Vivo as fans await the official launch in just a couple of weeks.

Vivo V60 launching in India this August, it will have 6500mAh battery and 100x ZEISS camera
Vivo has started teasing its next-generation V-series phone, and to no surprise, the company is calling it the Vivo V60. The phone is being teased on Vivo's X handle (formerly Twitter), and even the phone's renders have started to do the rounds on the internet. From the looks of it, the company seems to be moving away from the design language we are accustomed to seeing with the V40 and V50 series. Instead, the phone looks strikingly similar to the recently released Vivo X200 FE, with a similar camera layout. The only visual difference is the colours, of course, and the V60 smartphone has slightly curved sides — more like 2.5D curves — which should give it a more natural feel in the hand as opposed to the sharp and flat edges of the X200 Vivo V60 is tipped to launch on August 12, and ahead of this rumoured date, some of the phone's key specs, including the camera details and chipset, have leaked to tipster Pro Tech Village via X, the Vivo V60 is expected to come with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is said to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. This is the same mid-range chipset that also powers the recently released Realme 15 Pro. In terms of design, Vivo is going for a more premium look with the V60. Official teasers show a hole-punch display with minimal bezels and slightly curved edges. As mentioned earlier, the back of the phone houses a capsule-shaped camera module — similar to what we've seen on the X200 FE — and overall, the phone looks quite sleek. It is rumoured to come in three colour options at launch: Mist Grey, Moonlit Blue, and Auspicious for the cameras, Vivo has confirmed that the V60 will support 100x digital zoom, and ZEISS optics are back again. The rear camera setup is tipped to include a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, a second 50-megapixel 3x periscope lens also with OIS, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. On the front, users can expect a 50-megapixel camera for selfies and video of the biggest talking points, though, is the battery. The Vivo V60 is said to pack a large 6,500mAh battery, paired with support for 90W fast charging. That should comfortably get most users through a full day and then some, depending on usage. The phone is also expected to come with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water per rumours, the Vivo V60 may be priced somewhere between Rs 37,000 and Rs 40,000 in India. For context, the Vivo V50 was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 34,999.- Ends

Indian smartphone market grows 7 per cent, iPhone 16 drives Apple's numbers
India's smartphone market saw a healthy recovery in the second quarter of 2025, with total shipments reaching 39 million units, which is a 7 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase. The rebound follows a quiet first quarter and was largely driven by a slew of new launches and improved channel activity. According to a report by Canalys (now part of Omdia), while Chinese brands continued to dominate the top five spots, Apple stood out with over half its shipments driven by the iPhone 16 series, despite finishing sixth led the market during the quarter, shipping 8.1 million units and securing a 21 per cent share. The company's success was supported by strong offline campaigns and deeper distribution, especially in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. 'Vivo's new launches were widely embraced by channels, driven by strong partnerships,' said Sanyam Chaurasia, Principal Analyst at Canalys. The company's V50 series performed well in larger cities, while the Y-series remained a popular pick in smaller followed in second place with 6.2 million units shipped and a market share of 16 per cent. Oppo and Xiaomi tied at 13 per cent market share each, with 5 million units sold. However, compared to the previous quarter, Oppo's shipments have grown by 24 per cent, while Xiaomi's have plummeted by 25 per cent. Finally, realme came in at the fifth spot, with 3.6 million smartphones shipped and a market share of 9 per cent. Apple's sixth-place finish may not seem impressive at first glance, but there was clear interest in its current-generation models. The iPhone 16 series made up more than 55 per cent of Apple's total shipments in the quarter. However, the iPhone 16e — the most affordable version in the lineup — did not perform as well. 'The iPhone 16e lost momentum post-launch, as consumers questioned the value of its single-camera design and largely unrealised Apple Intelligence features,' Chaurasia brands have also contributed to the mid-range and premium smartphone space in India. Motorola, which ranked seventh, focused on expanding its reach in smaller cities. Infinix gained popularity among young buyers, especially with its design-forward marketing and gaming campaigns. Nothing continued its growth story, with a 229 per cent YoY jump driven by models like the Phone 3a Pro and CMF Phone 2 forward, the Indian smartphone market will likely depend more on channel activity than new product launches in the second half of 2025. Chaurasia noted that 'brands are actively locking inventory with distributors and retailers through channel incentive programs ahead of the upcoming festive season.' Canalys expects these efforts to boost short-term sales, but projects a modest overall decline for the full year due to structural demand challenges.- Ends

Vivo V60 leak hints at Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, 6,500mAh battery and triple cameras: Launch timeline tipped
Vivo is reportedly gearing up to unveil the successor to its V50 smartphone in India next month. The upcoming Vivo V60, expected to launch on 19 August, has been the subject of several leaks, revealing key specifications, colour variants, and even design renders ahead of its official debut. According to noted tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh), the Vivo V60 could come equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, a notable upgrade over the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 featured in the V50. The handset is also said to pack a massive 6,500mAh battery, potentially supporting 90W fast charging, as hinted by recent TUV and SIRIM listings. Brar suggests that the upcoming smartphone may continue the brand's focus on photography, possibly offering 50MP cameras, although the exact camera configuration remains unclear. The leaked renders point to a triple rear camera setup, arranged uniquely within a pill-shaped camera island, with an additional lens and LED flash positioned alongside it. Vivo's branding appears on the bottom-left corner of the rear panel. In terms of aesthetics, the Vivo V60 could be launched in three distinct colour options: Mist Grey, Moonlit Blue, and Auspicious Gold, further adding to its premium appeal. Adding to the excitement, the tipster also claims that Vivo might introduce OriginOS, its custom user interface based on Android 16, in India alongside the new handset. This would mark the first appearance of OriginOS in the Indian market, offering a fresh user experience compared to the company's traditional Funtouch OS. The Vivo V60 is expected to bring several upgrades over its predecessor, the Vivo V50, which made its Indian debut in February this year. The V50 features a 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED display with full-HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 4,500 nits. It is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC and houses a 6,000mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging. Camera-wise, it sports a dual rear camera setup (50MP main + 50MP ultrawide) and a 50MP front camera.

The vivo X200 FE is a compact and fast shooter. We took it to the streets of Berlin to test out the 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto lens.
vivo's new X200 FE is the brand's first compact telephoto flagship in the X series, and it's designed to challenge the idea that compact phones require a compromise in capability and specs. Well not in this case; this phone has powerful imaging capabilities, and offers advanced performance in a one-hand-hold form factor. Self portrait taken with the vivo X200 FE in the blue shade (used with the included case from the box). Taken at Fotografiska Berlin. The compact phone weighs 186g, has a 6.31-inch flat screen, and a body width of 71.76mm. What's interesting is that it has a perfectly balanced 1:1 weight distribution along with a refined and minimalist camera module that takes up only 9% of the body's rear surface. This device is truly comfortable to hold in any orientation. Holding the vivo X200 FE in one hand. Its compact form is comfortable to hold in one hand. Taken at Fotografiska Berlin. We love the Metallic Sand Anti-Glare finish on the back, which gives the phone a refined and sophisticated look and feel. Featured below is the phone in Blue, Yellow and Pink. In Singapore, only the Black and Blue shades will be available. The vivo X200 FE in Pink, Yellow and Blue. Taken at Hotel Telegraphenamt in Berlin. Most advanced photography for a compact device I've previously shot with the vivo V40 and V50 smartphones, both devices incorporating ZEISS lenses and achieving incredible pictures with beautiful colour rendering. With the X200 FE, vivo has included its most advanced ZEISS Multifocal Professional Photography system, which has full Multifocal Portrait capabilities, including: 23mm Landscape Portrait, 35mm Narrative Portrait, 50mm Classic Portrait, 85mm Professional Portrait, and 100mm Close-up Portrait. These are flagship specs for any camera system on a phone. Here's me shooting with the phone in Berlin (left photo), and one (on the right) taken by my good friend, street photographer Aik Beng Chia: There are also seven classic bokeh effects and cinematic flare rendering, so you can craft atmospheric and emotionally resonant portraits. There's also a Street Photography Mode where you can take blurred, grainy, or overexposed images for that authentic, human feel. Here's a series of street shots taken in Berlin. Click on the images to see the full specs for each image. The 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera, along with the Sony IMX882 Ultra-Sensitive Sensor and AI Telephoto Enhance, I could capture stunning details from afar, even in the images of foliage and architecture. Small but mighty performance While the vivo X200 FE has a beautifully slim, lightweight form, it still delivers in speed, endurance, and intelligent functionality that surpasses even some larger flagships. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ flagship chipset, and can handle intensive multitasking and file loading with near-zero latency. There's a large 6,500 mAh BlueVolt Battery that supports 90W FlashCharge, and this means you can get up to 9.5 hours of continuous gaming, 25.4 hours of YouTube video playback, and 44.9 hours of voice calls. But more importantly, when you take this to the streets, you'll be shooting numerous photos and the battery is going to keep you going the whole day. Taken at the East Berlin Wall. The vivo X200 FE is priced from $999 and will be available in Singapore starting 12 July. You can pre-order the device from now to 11 July through Shopee, Lazada, TikTok and authorised retailers as well as telcos. For more information, visit
