Person dies after crash in Waikato
One person was reported to be injured, police said. Photo: RNZ / Nate McKinnon A person has died after a crash involving a truck and car on Cambridge Road in Waikato. Police said the crash was reported at 11.25am Monday. "Despite the best efforts of first responders, the driver of the car died at the scene," a police spokesperson said. "Police are providing support to the person's family." The crash blocked the road and emergency services were on site. Cambridge Rd remains closed between Storey Rd and Cox Rd, and the Serious Crash Unit is carrying out a scene examination.
