Lionsgate Television Adapting Alexis Soloski's Suspense Bestseller ‘Here In The Dark' For Series

Two-time Fleishman Is in Trouble Emmy nominee Taffy Brodesser-Akner joins as EP, reteaming with that FX series producers Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly.
Here in the Dark, published by Flatiron Books, is a dark and stylish novel of psychological suspense about a young theater critic drawn into a dangerous game that blurs the lines between reality and performance.
Abbott herself is a New York Times bestselling author of tension-filled narratives, i.e. Beware the Woman, The Turnout, Give Me Your Hand and several other major titles. Her next novel, El Dorado Drive, will be released by Penguin Random House in June.
She co-created, executive produced and served as showrunner for USA Network and Netflix international's Dare Me, which was based on her bestselling novel. Abbott's writing has also appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal and The Los Angeles Times Magazine. Her work has earned numerous accolades, including five Edgar Awards and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, among many others. Abbott was also a writer on the HBO series The Deuce.
Brodesser-Akner created the FX limited series Fleishman Is in Trouble which was based on her bestselling novel, and racked up seven Emmy noms including Outstanding limited series. As a journalist, her cultural commentary and storytelling has been seen in The New York Times Magazine. Brodesser-Akner recently wrote the national bestseller Long Island Compromise.
Award-winning producers Timberman and Beverly's TV series canon includes Unbelievable, which earned multiple Emmy nominations, and Masters of Sex, which garnered numerous award nominations. They also served as EPs on Fleishman Is in Trouble.
New York Times theater critic and culture reporter Soloski's second novel, Flashout, will hit store shelves in August via Flatiron Books.
The news of Here in the Dark comes as Lionsgate Television has myriad high-profile projects in development with A-list producers including Stephenie Meyer, Keanu Reeves, Chad Stahelski, Seth Rogen's Point Grey Pictures, LeBron James and Maverick Carter's SpringHill, Park-Chan wook and many others.
