Being one of the most popular athletes on the planet today, Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes has had his fair share of celebrity encounters through the years.

One that has left quite a mark in his memory is a pretty wild experience with Grammy Award-nominated rapper Post Malone, who made sure that Mahomes would remember their encounter for the rest of the quarterback's life.
In a recent ad for T-Mobile, Malone reflected on his Chiefs tattoo while he was getting new ink done. The hip-hop star admitted that his Chiefs tattoo is one of his favorite ones because of the epic backstory.
"I told Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes that if they beat me in a game of beer pong, I would get a tattoo of their signatures and the Kansas City Chiefs logo," Malone said. "And they cheated, so I lost. ... That's probably my funnest story."

Mahomes caught wind of the accusation, and the Chiefs QB quickly responded with a message to the country singer.

"To be clear, we won fair and square @postmalone 😂" Mahomes posted.
The infamous tattoo incident went down following the Chiefs' Super Bowl win against the San Francisco 49ers in 2020. After their victory in Miami, Mahomes and Kelce attended Malone's concert in Kansas City, where the acclaimed rapper challenged the Chiefs stars to a game of beer pong backstage before his performance.
With one thing leading to another, Malone ended up getting a Chiefs logo tattooed along with Mahomes and Kelce's signatures.

In a GQ interview in 2020, Mahomes told his version of the story, as the All-Pro QB revealed how he tried to convince Malone not to go through with the bet.

'He has a tattoo artist literally in the room,' Mahomes recalled. 'I'm like, 'Dude, you do not actually have to get a tattoo of our autographs.''
Malone did not listen to Mahomes' advice, though, and he proved that he was a man of his word. Mahomes, however, maintains to this day that the bet was won fair and square.

Will Chiefs Still Be A Defense-First Team In 2025?
Will Chiefs Still Be A Defense-First Team In 2025? originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Kansas City Chiefs, over the past couple of seasons, have transitioned away from relying on fireworks on offense with Patrick Mahomes to leaning on their defense. Advertisement No longer do the Chiefs regularly score 30+ points and blow teams out; instead, Spagnuolo's defense holds teams to roughly 20 points per game, and the offense does just enough to win. Granted, two Super Bowl wins and making another appearance in three years show this is sustainable, but some want the Chiefs to revert to the swashbuckling offense they once had. But we know that might not be the case, and defensively, as we look ahead to 2025, what would be the best-case scenario for Spagnuolo's defense? "The Chiefs had a top-10 defense last season," Bleacher Report writes. "Chris Jones and George Karlaftis anchor a strong pass rush, Trent McDuffie is a star in the secondary, and the linebacker corps fits Spagnuolo's system to a tee. The best-case scenario would see the existing talent and familiarity be slightly better next season." Dec 26, 2021; Kansas City, Missouri, USA; Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Chris Jones (95) and defensive end Frank Clark (55) and quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15) pose for pictures as the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers winds down at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.© William Purnell-Imagn Images Last year, the defense allowed only 19.2 points per game (ranked fourth), 101.8 rushing yards per game (ranked 25th), and a third-down conversion on 43 percent of attempts (ranked 24th), so there is plenty to work with. Advertisement Plus, the Chiefs' defense, much like Mahomes, has a knack for making a play when the team needs it, whether that be a sack, a PBU, or a forced fumble. If the defense can at least replicate its efforts from last season, and the offense, with a host of weapons returning, can improve, this Chiefs team will be in good shape come playoff time. But let's make it clear, the Chiefs aren't driven by Mahomes anymore - it's the defense that sets the tone. ‘I Haven't Heard That' Says NFL Insider of Steelers' T.J. Watt Rumor
'I Haven't Heard That' Says NFL Insider of Steelers' T.J. Watt Rumor originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Most of us can agree that somehow, some way, the Pittsburgh Steelers will soon make edge rusher T.J. Watt one of the highest-paid defenders in the NFL - again. Advertisement How much will Watt get? What about years and guarantees? What about where he will end up ranking amid the highest-paid guys in the game... and in the history of the game? Thats where we don't all agree. Bleacher Report's James Palmer is reporting that the Watt number could be at the very all-time top, up and over the Cleveland Browns' recent deal with Myles Garrett. Color us skeptical... but let's hear out Palmer... 'I'm hearing there's a chance Watt gets past $40 (million APY), which is something we're really keeping an eye on, right? That if he gets that $40 million per year at the age that he is at. ' Palmer said on his NFL Insider Notebook. 'He has every right to ask for it. I've talked on here a lot about the comparisons between him and Myles Garrett. The numbers are almost identical in every aspect in terms of superlatives and in terms of numbers, and they came in the same draft class. Advertisement 'He has the right to try to get that. We'll see.' Whoa. Our response? With all due respect to the plugged-in Palmer, this take sounds like it comes from someone who just got off the phone with T.J. and his agent. It kinda comes out of the blue. Watt is presently entering the final season of his $112 million extension signed just ahead of the 2021 NFL year. At the time, the deal made Watt the highest-paid NFL defender. On that extension, the edge rusher has received an average annual salary of $28 million. But other defenders have blown past that historic deal over the past four years. Garrett signed a four-year, $160 million extension with the Browns this offseason. Advertisement Meshing with our take is 'Rap Sheet's' similar response to Palmer's report. During his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network was asked about the $40 million rumor. 'I still believe it's gonna work out. But I hadn't heard that number,' Rapoport said. 'And I hadn't heard that anything is imminent.' Rapoport is being polite here. 'I hadn't heard that number' is a nice way of saying… 'That's not the number.' So we will stick with 'out of the blue' view while hoping that Watt and the Steelers forge a deal in time for training camp. Related: Bills Trade For T.J.
