The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On March 8, 2025, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate raided the store of citizen (M.N.) in Al Laylaki area – Dahye Janoubiye and arrested him for forming an armed gang to impose extortion, as well as for several arrest warrants issued against him for committing crimes, including: shooting and injuring individuals, kidnapping at gunpoint, theft, trafficking and transporting firearms and ammunition, causing disturbances, and attempted murder. A large quantity of ammunition was seized from the store.
Additionally, a military force raided the residences of wanted individuals in Wadi Khaled – Akkar, where citizens (A.F.) and (M.F.) were arrested. A Kalashnikov assault rifle, two pistols, a quantity of ammunition, and military equipment were seized.
The seized items were handed over, and the investigation with the detainees was initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.

They did not comply with the warnings from the observation point personnel and attempted to leave the area, trying to run over the soldiers, who were forced to fire back, resulting in the death of the Lebanese citizen and the injury of the Syrian. The investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the relevant judicial authorities to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
