LAF Patrol Comes Under Fire While Pursuing a Weapons and Drug Smuggler
Thursday, 26 June 2025 The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: On 26/6/2025, while a LAF unit, supported by a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, was pursuing the citizen (M.N.) as he was smuggling a quantity of drugs, weapons, and military ammunition using a pickup truck near the Lebanese-Syrian border in Sharbin – Hermel, the suspect opened fire at the patrol members. They returned fire, resulting in the vehicle catching fire and the ammunition inside exploding, which also caused a blaze in the area. Civil Defense units worked to extinguish the fire. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the wanted individual.

Raids and arrests of wanted individuals in Al Laylaki – Dahye Janoubiye and Wadi Khaled – Akkar for committing various crimes
Sunday, 09 March 2025 The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: On March 8, 2025, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate raided the store of citizen (M.N.) in Al Laylaki area – Dahye Janoubiye and arrested him for forming an armed gang to impose extortion, as well as for several arrest warrants issued against him for committing crimes, including: shooting and injuring individuals, kidnapping at gunpoint, theft, trafficking and transporting firearms and ammunition, causing disturbances, and attempted murder. A large quantity of ammunition was seized from the store. Additionally, a military force raided the residences of wanted individuals in Wadi Khaled – Akkar, where citizens (A.F.) and (M.F.) were arrested. A Kalashnikov assault rifle, two pistols, a quantity of ammunition, and military equipment were seized. The seized items were handed over, and the investigation with the detainees was initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.
