France condemns settler attacks, calls for "Firm Measures" against perpetrators

Paris - Saba: France has condemned the repeated attacks carried out by settlers against Palestinian citizens in the West Bank. In a statement issued on Thursday evening, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "France condemns the repeated attacks by Israeli settlers in the West Bank, which have resulted in the killing of four Palestinians in recent days in the village of Kafr Malik (northeast of Ramallah) and the town of Surif (northwest of Hebron)." The statement added, "France calls on the Israeli government to take firm measures to put an end to the violence committed by these extremist settlers." It continued, "France reiterates its condemnation of settlement expansion and strongly opposes any form of annexation." The statement further noted, "At the national level, France has imposed individual sanctions on 59 extremist settlers involved in acts of violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank." The settlers' attack on Kafr Malik on Wednesday evening led to the martyrdom of young men: Murshid Hamayel, Mohammed Al-Naji, and Lutfi Sabri, while seven other citizens were injured by gunfire from settlers and Israeli occupation soldiers, according to the Ministry of Health. Additionally, vehicles and homes were set on fire. Last Thursday, citizen Mohammed Ahmed Mahmoud Al-Hour (48 years old) was martyred, and eight others were injured by settler gunfire in the town of Surif. Alongside the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, the occupation army and settlers have escalated their assaults in the West Bank, including occupied Quds, resulting in the martyrdom of nearly 1,000 citizens, the injury of around 7,000 others, and the arrest of more than 17,500, according to official figures. Zakharova: Western media hides unprecedented attack on nuclear sites

Moscow - Saba: Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova confirmed the complicity of the Western media in concealing a historical precedent embodied by the first attack on nuclear sites, launched by Washington and targeting Iran. As quoted by the Novosti news agency, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said, "It seems to me that the Western media is committing, or has committed, a grave professional crime by diverting the discussion from the main topic: that this may be the first time in history that direct missile strikes have been launched against sites, storage facilities, bases, and the development of nuclear materials as part of a peaceful program." She added, "The world has already used nuclear weapons and uranium-based munitions, but this is the first time that strikes have been launched against nuclear development centers." At the same time, it emphasized that Iran's nuclear program is operating peacefully under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency. Therefore, those who claim that Iran is close to producing nuclear weapons provide no evidence. In the early hours of June 22, the United States launched airstrikes targeting three Iranian nuclear facilities—Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan—in an attempt to degrade or destroy Iran's nuclear capabilities. Trump emphasized that his country "does not seek war," but warned Tehran of "serious consequences" if it does not agree to "end this war." Iran responded through its Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who emphasized that the door to diplomacy must remain open but held Washington responsible for undermining this process. For its part, Russia condemned the operation, describing it as a flagrant violation of international law, the UN Charter, and Security Council resolutions, calling on the IAEA to take a clear position. Similar condemnations were issued by China and Cuba. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print more of (International)
