Delegation in Bahrain conveys India's stance on terrorism, to visit Kuwait next
The parliamentarians also met Bahrain's Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and stressed India's strong resolve against cross-border terror activities.
The delegation includes Baijayant Panda, BJP MP; Nishikant Dubey, BJP MP; Phangnon Konyak, BJP MP; Rekha Sharma, BJP MP; Asaduddin Owaisi, AIMIM MP; Satnam Singh Sandhu, Nominated MP; Ghulam Nabi Azad; and Ambassador Harsh Shringla will visit Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria.
Taking to X, the Indian Embassy in Bahrain posted, "Hon'ble MP Baijayant Panda led All-Party Delegation met H.E. Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, the Chairman Shura Council, Bahrain and underscored India's resolve to fight against terrorism and strengthen bilateral ties."
"Together in the fight against terrorism, Baijayant Jay Panda and other members of the All-Party Delegation called on Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa. Meeting discussed matters of mutual interest & India's commitment to combat terrorism in all its forms," the Embassy said in another post.
Later in the day, the delegation also visited Bab Al Bahrain, a historic landmark in Manama.
While in Bahrain, the Indian parliamentarians also interacted with the diaspora living here as well as conveyed India's unified and unwavering stand against terrorism.
Taking to X, BJP MP Panda said, "Our Indian diaspora has succeeded globally, and this makes us all very proud. Today, along with my esteemed colleagues from the all-party delegation, we engaged with the Indian community in Bahrain and conveyed India's unified and unwavering stance against terrorism"
The delegation also met the prominent personalities in Bahrain on Operation Sindoor and India's stance against terrorism.
The visit, aimed at strengthening India's ties in the region and highlighting the country's firm stance against cross-border terrorism, marks the beginning of a multi-nation tour across Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Algeria.
The Indian delegation will now head to Kuwait (May 26-27) and projecting India's united and unwavering stance against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism. There, the leaders will be interacting with senior dignitaries from the Government of Kuwait, prominent members of civil society, influencers, think-tanks, media and a cross-section of the Indian diaspora.

Gujarat: Amit Shah launches new dairy federation, salt co-operative
Ahmedabad: Union minister of home and cooperation Amit Shah launched the Sardar Patel Cooperative Dairy Federation in Gujarat on Sunday and said that it would benefit the farmers of the country on the lines of Amul. (PTI) Speaking at an event in Anand to mark the completion of four years of the Ministry of Cooperation, Shah also announced the formation of Kutch District Salt Cooperative Society that will benefit the salt-producers, or Agariyas, as they are known in Gujarat. The event, organised by the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Limited (GCMMF), or Amul, as it is popularly known for the brand it markets, also marked the 150th birth anniversary year of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The multi-state Federation aims to establish a system of organised milk procurement, fair pricing and circular economy in the dairy sector. 'The Sardar Patel Cooperative Dairy Federation will work to complete a cycle of organised market, input services, fair purchase of milk, difference in price and circular economy in the dairy sector,' Shah said, adding that on the lines of Amul, it will benefit the farmers of the country. Shah also virtually inaugurated the expansion of Dr Verghese Kurien cheese plant in Kheda and chocolate plant in Mogar, projects worth ₹365 crore. He inaugurated the new office building of the National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India (NCDFI) named Maniben Patel Bhawan, located in the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) complex in Anand, and dedicated the Ready-to-Use Culture (RUC) Plant of NDDB built at a cost of ₹45 crore. He also laid the foundation stone for the new NDDB headquarters building. During his address, Shah said the Ministry of Cooperation, created four years ago, has undertaken over 60 initiatives focused on people, Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), digital platforms, policy reforms and prosperity. He said that cooperation has existed in Indian society since the Vedic period and Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave it legislative backing by creating the ministry, which has given new life to more than 8.4 lakh cooperative societies involving about 31 crore people. Shah said that the upcoming Tribhuvan Sahkari University has recently been established in the name of Tribhuvan Das Patel and that 2 lakh new PACS, a National Cooperative Database and six new national level cooperative bodies are being set up—three related to grain and three to dairy. He also said that the Kutch District Salt Cooperative Society, launched on Sunday, will benefit salt workers and grow into a strong cooperative movement, and added that profits from salt production will now go to those who work in the fields. Gujarat accounts for more than 70% of India's salt production, with nearly 30% coming from the Little Rann of Kutch. Shah also called for cooperative institutions to focus on transparency, technology adoption and member-centric practices. He said that without these, cooperative models cannot survive in a competitive environment and urged leaders to make these values part of the work culture during the International Year of Cooperatives. He paid tribute to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee on his birth anniversary, saying Mookerjee sacrificed his life for Kashmir and made West Bengal part of India. 'He gave the slogan that 'Two prime ministers, two Constitutions and two flags would not be acceptable in the country',' said Shah. Talking about the milk co-operative model, he said that 36 lakh women work hard every day in Gujarat and 20 lakh women in other parts of the country. 'The annual turnover of Amul is ₹80,000 crore and it will cross ₹1 lakh crore next year. The profits from this are going directly into the accounts of these 56 lakh sisters. Prosperity is not of an individual but of the entire society, affluence is not of a few rich people but of the poor, labourers and farmers,' Shah said adding that the initiatives have been taken by Prime Minister Modi bearing this in mind.

Members of the Indian community held a traditional dance performance on the theme of 'Operation Sindoor' while welcoming PM Modi. Sharing his sentiments on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi said he was amazed by the Indian diaspora's enduring connection to Indian culture. "Members of Brazil's Indian community gave a very vibrant welcome in Rio de Janeiro. It's amazing how they remain connected with Indian culture and are also very passionate about India's development! UP CM Yogi Adityanath assures fee waiver to Class 7 girl, RSS-run school refuses: ‘No such provision'
After a Class 7 student appealed to Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath for a fee waiver, he assured her support — paving the way for her dream of becoming an IAS officer. UP CM Adityanath had assured the girl that she would not face obstacles in her education.(PTI) 'Either your fees will be waived, or we will arrange the amount,' Adityanath told the student, news agency PTI reported. However, despite the chief minister's assurance that the girl would face no obstacles in her education, the school management refused to pardon her fees, according to an NDTV report. The school is run by RSS's education wing Vidya Bharati, and charges a monthly fee of ₹1,650 for Class 7, reported NDTV. Pankhuri has outstanding dues of about ₹18,000. The student, Pankhuri Tripathi, said the school told her that there was no such provision. "I had gone to the chief minister with a fee pardon request. He gave me a chocolate and assured me that it would be done. But when I went to school with my father, they misbehaved with us," Pankhuri said. She added that the school management had told them that if more people asked for such waivers, the institution would not be able to function. 'They said they have to pay teachers,' Pankuri said, as per NDTV. Pankhuri's father, Rajiv Kumar Tripathi, had suffered a leg injury, following which he lost his job. 'When I was at home during the pandemic, I slipped off the terrace and suffered a leg injury. I lost my job,' Rajiv said. He said both his children study in English-medium schools, with his son currently in Class 12. Pankhuri was not able to attend school after February given the family's difficulty in paying the fees. 'It is my son's last year in school, so I did not want to disrupt his education. I thought of taking my daughter out of school for a year,' NDTV quoted Rajiv as saying. However, Rajiv then had the idea of attending the CM's Janata Durbar on July 1, during which Adityanath directed officials to ensure that Pankhuri's education is not affected. However, when Rajiv took his daughter to the school, the management 'misbehaved' with them, saying there was no such provision for a pardon. 'Truth behind BJP's slogan': Akhilesh Yadav's jibe at UP CM Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav took a jibe at the BJP and CM Adityanath, saying this was the 'truth behind BJP's slogan'. 'Those who are busy hoarding, how will they waive or pay someone's fees?,' Yadav said in a post on X. The SP chief also promised that Pankhuri's education would not stop. 'This is the truth of the BJP's fake slogans of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao'. We urge the BJP not to lie to children,' he said. However, Pankhuri's family has rested their hopes on the UP CM, with Rajiv Tripathi saying, '…We are associated with the Math and Maharaj ji (Yogi Adityanath) and we believe he will ensure my daughter's education.'
