A Place In The Sun presenter Scarlette Douglas has opened up about the "hard graft" involved with the filming of the Channel 4 show and the two items the hosts are banned from wearing
A Place In The Sun presenter has revealed the less glamorous side of her job.
The Channel 4 show helps prospective buyers in their search for their dream home abroad. Scarlette Douglas, 38, first appeared on the property programme in 2015, offering her expertise to numerous house hunters.

Despite visiting various locations and meeting a wide range of people, the job isn't always as easy as it seems.

Scarlett told The Express that working on A Place In The Sun is actually "really hard", with five days of filming squeezed into one "47-minute show."
She also revealed two items that presenters are not allowed to wear, reports Leicestershire Live.
"There's a lot that goes into it. It's hard graft," the property expert admitted. She added: "You can't wear sunglasses or a hat."
The host confessed: "You just about have time to drink some water. You keep going and going and going, so as much as it looks glamorous, it's actually a really difficult show."
Scarlette said goodbye to A Place In The Sun in 2022 and has since featured on another property show, Worst House On The Street.

The Channel 4 series sees property developers Scarlette and Stuart Douglas, who are siblings, helping people revamp their family homes without breaking the bank.
It comes as Jasmine Harman, a host from A Place In The Sun, has shared an 'awful' experience she had while filming the Channel 4 show.

The property expert, who has been on the programme since 2004, recalled a bout of motion sickness during a microlight plane ride in the Algarve.
"We were flying and he was doing all of these little tricks and I got a bit of motion sickness and I started to feel a bit dodgy. I kept telling myself, 'I'll be alright, I'll be alright,'' she told the Express.
However, upon landing, Jasmine felt 'so sick' that she ended up vomiting inside her helmet. "I ended up vomiting inside the helmet. And it was so embarrassing."
"In front of the house hunters and this handsome pilot. The whole team," she confessed.
Despite the incident being "an awful moment" with "everyone there," Jasmine can now look back and laugh at the experience.

Big Brother star ordained as a deacon after turning to the church – 20 years on from finishing runner-up on reality show

A BIG Brother legend has finally been ordained as a deacon after swapping fame for the church. Series seven runner-up Glyn Wise, 37, has been working towards this moment for five years after time spent in China made him reconsider his life. 4 Big Brother's Glyn Wise has formally recognised as a deacon Credit: Twitter 4 Glyn's ordination ceremony was inside St Asaph Cathedral Credit: Glyn Wise 4 Glyn found fame on the reality show back in 2006 Credit: Channel 4 Last month he graduated from Bible College where he spent three years studying for a theology degree. Five weeks later, he is officially a vicar. Today, he confirmed the news, writing on Instagram: "This is Rev Glyn - I'm coming to get you! "Day 1 as an official Rev! Hard work, praying & studying has paid off - 'With God all things are possible' Math 19: 26. "Looking forward to follow in the footsteps of the disciples in the book of Acts, spreading the good word across the nations!" Glyn shared a video from his ordination ceremony inside St Asaph Cathedral, North Wales, as he was made a member of the clergy. The work of a deacon focuses on spreading and serving the Church in poor and marginalised communities. Glyn's next stage of training to become a priest will see him based in the Aled Mission Area around Old Colwyn and Betws yn Rhos, according to the diocese of St Asaph. He has already completed a 770km pilgrimage to the iconic Santiago de Compostela in Spain, believed to be the burial site of the apostle St James, as part of his faith journey. DIVINE INTERVENTION Religion has always played a big part in Glyn's life and previously told how he "prayed my way onto Big Brother". Speaking on This Morning in 2022, he said: 'I grew up in a religious family and I prayed my way onto Big Brother. Pete, Glyn and Victor appear on Big Brother 5 as they reunite 17 years after show "I was asking God can you please just get me into Big Brother. 'I was 16 thinking there must be so much more to life, life is so predestined, school then university and I wanted something so different for me. 'Big Brother was what I wanted and it changed everything.' Previously, he told how he counts Hollywood actor and Wrexham AFC co-owner Ryan Reynolds as one of the congregation at his local church in North Wales. After dropping out of the limelight, Glyn went on to have a normal life, heading to university two years and becoming a teacher. He then decided to go travelling and ended up working in Shanghai, China, where he 'got rid of the Glyn from Big Brother tag'. With Christianity growing at a massive scale across Asia, Glyn embraced his faith and decided to train as a vicar once he got home in 2020. He previously opened up on what his course entailed and said: 'I'm learning theology, going into depth about the Bible and learning how to cope with people, because you're not only the vicar, you're someone to listen, you're a psychiatrist, you have to help sort people's lives out and spread the good word. 'So there's a concoction of stuff that you need to learn before you become a vicar.' Despite sporting a very different look now, Glyn says he still gets Big Brother fans coming up to him in church — and he will often weave his past into his sermons. He said: 'I've got a beard now, I've shaved my head, I'm a man not a boy, but yeah, there's conversations about Big Brother that still come up. People come to church and are like, 'I really loved you when you cooked that egg'. 'And I'm like, 'Can we talk about Jesus Christ now, the Saviour?'. 'But I feel like when you've lived a good life, you've got a lot to talk about when you're up in the pulpit doing a sermon.'

I was on 8 Out Of 10 Cats - there's a stressful struggle hidden from screens that impacts everyone on the show

A contestant from 8 Out Of 10 Cats has revealed all about their experience on the show, including a struggle hidden from screens. Comedian Aisling Bea featured on the recent episode of Saturday Kitchen, hosted by TV chef Matt Tebbutt. She opened up about what it's like to appear on the long-standing panel game show on Channel 4. Aisling has starred on multiple episodes of 8 Out Of 10 Cats, hosted by comic Jimmy Carr and Matt admitted he 'loves' the show. The comedian revealed the one part of the show she finds tricky - the rolling news segment. She said: 'The rolling news part of it is the bit you have to try... when something's newsworthy, a lot of peoples brains come to a similar type of joke around the same time so the stress of it can be like, 'Oh I wonder does that person have the same angle on royal baby, or Brexit, or whatever it is'. She opened up about what it's like to appear on the long-standing panel game show on Channel 4 'And if they do, you're like 'Oh God, can I think of anything else, quickly'.' Aisling revealed a tactic for trying to make sure she's got enough funny lines prepared. She added: 'You have to have sometimes like eight jokes on one subject matter, hoping you'll remember why it's funny.' The comic described QI, another game show she has appeared on multiple times as 'so much fun'. 'It's just improv so all of that is improvised, you don't know what's coming up,' she said. Aisling admitted the 'pressure's a bit more off on the ones that are more improvised'. It comes after Aisling recently confronted her 'shameful' family history on an episode of Who Do You Think You Are? In an episode back in May of the BBC show, which sees celebrities explore their heritage, the actress looked through some historical documents during a meet up in County Limerick with historian Dr Richard McMahon. Richard opened up to the comedian, from Kildare, Ireland, about her great-grandmother Martha Sheehy and her time during the great famine. However he could find records from the early 1850s which gave him a sense of position that she was in at the time. Aisling said: 'Before famine 40 acers in area of court, then her estate in Ballycannon she had 115 acres post famine...' Richard tells her: 'The family have a larger farm by the end of the famine then they had pre famine Ireland. 'So during this devastating period in Irish history, which would have such a long terrible legacy for all of us afterwards, how does someone come to have more land if owned than renting so soon after the famine?' Aisling asks him. Richard explains: 'During the famine landlords would have evicted 100,000s of people off the land and when they are moved of the land, the land is taken over by farmers like your great great great grandmother Martha.' Aisling Bea gasps 'that's hard to hear' as she confronts 'shameful' family history on BBC's Who Do You Think You Are? A previous instalment of the BBC show, which sees celebrities explore their heritage, saw the actress look through some historical documents during a meet up in County Limerick with historian Dr Richard McMahon Aisling tries to wrap her head around it and replies: 'So while she might not be evicting them, she maybe using it as an opportune moment.' 'Some people got larger farms on the back of people getting moved off the land,' Richard tells her. Aisling brutally says: 'That is hard to hear. I'll be honest. 'Having spent all our childhood learning about the Irish famine in our history classes, anyone who, any terrible situation profited...
