NIA files supplementary charge sheet against 26/11 accused Tahawwur; court extends custody till August 13
According to the officials, Special NIA judge Chander jit Singh has put the supplementary charge sheet for consideration on August 13. The court is to hear Rana's application for regular telephonic conversation with his family on July 15.
The officials said that the supplementary charge sheet contains procedural documents like an arrest memo, seizure memo and other documents. The NIA had filed the main charge sheet in December 2011.
Rana was produced before the special judge through video conferencing after the expiry of his judicial custody. Last month, a Delhi court extended his judicial custody until July 9.
Rana, a Pakistani-origin Canadian national, was extradited to India earlier this year after the United States Supreme Court dismissed his petition on April 4, clearing the way for his transfer.
After his arrival in May, he was placed in NIA's judicial custody and has since been under investigation for multiple serious charges, including criminal conspiracy, murder, committing terrorist acts, and forgery.

NIA court declares Hizb chief Syed Salahuddin proclaimed offender under UAPA
An NIA court here on Friday declared Pakistan-based Hizbul Mujahideen chief Mohammad Yousuf Shah alias Syed Salahuddin a proclaimed offender under the UAP Act. Srinagar Police has appealed to the public for any information on the whereabouts of Salahuddin(HT/File) The special designated court under NIA Act, Srinagar, issued a proclamation requiring the appearance of Shah, a resident of Soibugh, Badgam, in connection with serious charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Ranbir Penal Code. According to court records, a challan was filed alleging that the accused has committed offences punishable under Sections 13 and 18 of the UA(P) Act and Section 505 of the RPC in Zakura police station. Despite a warrant being issued for his arrest, law enforcement authorities have reported that Salahuddin could not be found and is believed to have absconded or is deliberately concealing his whereabouts to evade arrest. In light of these circumstances, the court declared Salahuddin as absconding and issued a proclamation requiring his appearance before the court on or before August 30, to answer the charges framed against him. Failure to appear may lead to further legal action, including proceedings under Section 82/83 of the Code of Criminal Procedure pertaining to the attachment of property of an absconder. Srinagar Police has appealed to the public for any information on the whereabouts of Salahuddin and urged cooperation in the interest of justice and public safety.

Rajkot advocates ask for appointment of new district govt pleader, AGPs
Rajkot: A delegation of senior advocates from Rajkot met Gujarat minister of state for home Harsh Sanghavi during his visit to the city, demanding the appointment of a new district govt pleader and expedited appointments of assistant govt pleaders (AGPs). Dilip Patel, senior advocate and co-chairman of the Bar Council of India, said, "The current district govt pleader has been holding the post for eight years and has passed retirement age. The govt should retire him and appoint a successor. Interviews for assistant govt pleaders were conducted three years ago, but no appointments have been made so far." The district govt pleader heads the prosecution and assigns cases to AGPs in all courts. The advocates also voiced concerns about police conduct. They alleged that some junior police personnel behave rudely when lawyers visit police stations on behalf of clients. Additionally, they raised concerns about the city's worsening traffic situation.
