Chelsea offered chance to sign Manchester United transfer target for £45m
Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Manchester United transfer target Emiliano Martinez for £45million. The Aston Villa goalkeeper looks set to leave this summer after five years with the Midlands club. Unai Emery is reluctant to lose the Argentina international but Villa could be forced into a sale in order to meet PSR, according to The Mirror. Chelsea have chopped and changed goalkeepers over the course of the last few years but are no closer to establishing a No.1. Robert Sanchez has flattered to deceive since his move from Brighton and has lost his place in the side under both Mauricio Pochettino and Enzo Maresca. Djordje Petrovic impressed briefly stepping in for Sanchez under Pochettino but was loaned out to Strasbourg last season and is likely to complete a permanent move to the French club. Chelsea spent £24m on Filip Jorgensen 12 months ago, but he too has been unable to convince Maresca he is worthy of becoming the No.1. United's plans for their goalkeeping department remain unclear, meanwhile, with Andre Onana's future a matter of speculation. The Cameroon international joined from Inter two years ago for a fee of close to £50m but he has proved an inadequate successor to David de Gea. A string of high-profile errors has seen United lose faith in the 29-year-old who has been heavily linked with a move. 'Will I leave? I don't know, we'll see!' Onana said, according Actu Cameroun, earlier this month with Monaco the latest club to be linked to his services. United are reported to believe that Martinz would favour a move to Old Trafford but Ruben Amorim's priorities reportedly lie elsewhere. The Red Devils have already recruited Matheus Cunha from Wolves and are locked in negotiations with Brentford over the transfer of Bryan Mbeumo. United would also want at least £35m for Onana which has opened the door for Chelsea to make their move. Villa, for their part, are eyeing up a mvoe for Royal Antwerp's Senne Lammens, but there are a number of other clubs tracking the 22-year-old, including United. Joint saves four match points to claim Eastbourne title
EASTBOURNE, England, June 28 (Reuters) - Australia's Maya Joint saved four match points before beating Alexandra Eala 6-4 1-6 7-6(10) to win the Eastbourne title in a gripping final on Saturday. Four times Eala, the first player from the Philippines to reach a WTA Tour final, was a point away from victory in the final-set tiebreak but Joint dug deep to prevail. The 19-year-old Joint showed tremendous resilience to stay alive and when she earned her second match point at 11-10 made no mistake, drilling a backhand crosscourt winner. While it was joy for Joint who claimed her second WTA title in her last four events having also won her maiden crown in Rabat on clay, the pain was too much for 20-year-old Eala, who went off court in tears to compose herself before the ceremony. "We will definitely play in more finals," Joint said after the youngest Eastbourne final by combined age since 1981. The men's final between Americans Taylor Fritz and Jenson Brooksby was taking place later at Devonshire Park.

Arsenal star Mikel Arteta sold for £9m linked with shock Premier League return
A former Arsenal star Mikel Arteta sold for just £9million, could make a surprise transfer back to the Premier League, according to reports. While no new signings have been confirmed yet, Arsenal have been busy this summer transfer window, especially with regards to their midfield. They are set to buy Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad and Christian Norgaard from Brentford, who will replace the released Thomas Partey and Jorginho. Another Premier League side overhauling their midfield is newly-promoted Sunderland who have the difficult task of replacing Jobe Bellingham, who was sold to Borussia Dortmund. To do so, it has been widely-reported that the Black Cats will pay a club-record £30.5m to sign Habib Diarra from Strasbourg. The highly-rated 21-year-old was also a target for Leeds, Brighton and Everton, and notably scored for Senegal in their historic win over England earlier this month. But French outlet RMC Sport claim that Sunderland are also interested in signing Lazio midfielder Matteo Guendouzi who spent two years at the Emirates. Guendouzi knows Black Cats boss Regis Le Bris well having worked with him at Lorient but it remains to be seen whether the France international would consider a transfer. The 26-year-old only moved to Lazio on a permanent deal last summer and is considered a key player, but the Serie A club may be forced to sell due its financial situation. Signed by Unai Emery in 2018 for £7m, Guendouzi quickly established himself in Arsenal's first-team despite his tender years, going onto make 82 appearances for the club in two seasons. Appearances: 82 Goals: 1 Assists: 5 Yellow cards: 20 Red Cards: 1 It was expected that he would become a key player for the Gunners for many years to come but he fell out with Arteta after multiple disciplinary issues on the training ground. More Trending The final straw came in June 2020 following a post-match altercation with Brighton's Neal Maupay, during which he grabbed the striker's throat, with Arteta exiling Guendouzi from training. Guendouzi would never again play for Arsenal, loaned out to Hertha Berlin and Marseille before leaving for good in 2022, and upon departing north London said: 'I will never forget any minute spent with the Gunners jersey. 'I will never forget the Emirates Stadium. I will never forget the fans. I won't forget the city. I will never forget everything I've been through here. I will never forget that my only will was to defend with pride Arsenal colours. 'Thanks to all of those who believed in me during my time here, during the good and the bad moments. I can only wish the best to the club and its fan who deserve so much, trust me! 'Goodbye Arsenal, I will never forget you and will be a Gooner forever.'
