Tripura Allies BJP And Tipra Motha Workers Clash During Mann Ki Baat Broadcast
Guwahati: In a major political development in Tripura, members of the BJP and its key ally Tipra Motha clashed on Sunday at an area where BJP supporters claimed to have assembled to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's monthly radio broadcast Mann Ki Baat. The police said they have filed a case following the clash that broke out in Khowai district. Political analysts said the incident indicated the growing strain in the relationship between the two allies in Tripura. "I have no idea, but local people know who attacked first. They know the culprits as well, so they filed a police case. The police will take strong action and arrest the suspects," Triprua Chief Minister Manik Saha told reporters. According to police sources, some 30 BJP functionaries and their supporters were assembled at a house in the district's Asharambari assembly constituency to listen to Mann Ki Baat. A large group of Tipra Motha workers and supporters also reached the place. The clash broke out after that. The immediate cause is not known. Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Manikya Debburman in a recorded video posted on social media confirmed the clash happened. "We don't want any political violence in Tripura. If we the Tiprasa still keep fighting for the sake of a political flag, one day we will be left with no land. The BJP should also be careful. Many CPI(M) supporters are either in BJP or Motha and indulging in all these," he said. Eight motorcycles and two cars were damaged in the clash. A large number of police personnel have been posted in the area. Tension is still high, sources said.

‘Pluribus': First-look teaser of ‘Breaking Bad' creator Vince Gilligan's sci-fi series out; release date announced
Apple on Friday (July 25) unveiled a first-look teaser of its upcoming sci-fi series Pluribus, which is Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan's return to television. Starring Rhea Seehorn (who starred in Gilligan's Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul), the nine-episode series premieres with its first two episodes on Apple TV+ on November 5, followed by new episodes every Friday. In the extremely unsettling 30-second first-look teaser, we see a woman wearing pink scrubs lick donuts before placing them in a box that reads 'Help yourself.' Meanwhile, the first-look image of Seehorn from the series features the actor's character, on a phone call, looking ahead with a puzzled expression. The project is already generating early buzz due to the strength of its creative team. Gilligan's past shows have been critically acclaimed and commercially successful, while Seehorn has earned consistent praise for her dramatic range. According to a press release from Apple, Pluribus is a 'genre-bending original in which the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.' Interestingly, the series has already been renewed for a second season. The project is already generating early buzz due to the strength of its creative team. Gilligan's past shows have been critically acclaimed and commercially successful, while Seehorn has earned consistent praise for her dramatic range. In an earlier interview with Variety, Gilligan made some revelations about the concept and tenor of his new show. Though unfolding in Albuquerque, New Mexico — the setting of both Saul and five seasons of Breaking Bad — it will have 'no crime, and no methamphetamine,' he said. 'I wouldn't call this heavy science fiction, I would call it mild science fiction,' Gilligan was quoted as saying. 'But it does have a sci-fi element to it, at its core. And there's no crime, and no methamphetamine. It's going to be fun and different.' Asked to tease the plot, Gilligan divulged, 'The world changes very abruptly in the first episode, and then it is quite different. It's the modern world — the world we live in — but it changes very abruptly. And the consequences that that reaps hopefully provide drama for many, many episodes after that.' The cast of Pluribus also features Karolina Wydra and Carlos Manuel Vesga, with Miriam Shor and Samba Schutte appearing in guest roles. Sony Pictures Television produces the series. Gilligan, Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Diane Mercer, Allyce Ozarski and Jeff Frost serve as executive producers.

Woman outraged by London airport shop employees talking in Hindi, says she reported them
A British woman claims she heard three Marks & Spencer employees at London Heathrow airport talking to each other in Hindi and reported them to their employer. Her viral social media post has sparked mixed reactions, with many wondering what crime the staffers had committed and others criticising the woman as 'racist'. A woman claims she heard three staffers at London airport conversing in Hindi (Representational image) Hindi at Heathrow Lucy White took to the social media platform X on July 25 to complain about the Marks & Spencer staffers. 'Just landed in Heathrow Airport T3. Went into M&S. Three staff were speaking in another language,' she claimed. White asked the employees what language they were speaking in, and was told they were conversing in Hindi – the most widely spoken language in India. White further claimed she recorded their speech and had plans to report them to Marks & Spencer. 'We must confront them every time,' she wrote. Her post has gone viral with over 4.6 million views. It proved to be deeply controversial on social media, with some agreeing with White and her take on what language must be spoken in London. "It's alienating to hear shop assistants speaking in a foreign language in a British store. I wouldn't shop in stores that permit this,' wrote one X user. 'Well, what are you waiting for? Report them,' another said, to which the British woman replied indicating she was in the process of reporting the incident to Marks & Spencer. The majority of users, however, called out White for being racist and xenophobic, while expecting staffers at one of the world's busiest international airports to speak only English. 'People speaking Hindi at work aren't the problem—you policing languages in a multicultural country is. This isn't the confrontation you think it is. It's just xenophobia,' wrote X user Clare. 'Surely typing 'morning all, I'm a little bit racist' would have been much easier?' another asked sarcastically. 'Why shouldn't people speak a different language when they're talking amongst themselves? And at an international airport too.' 'Urgent, Marks & Spencer. You have multilingual staff working at the world's busiest airport. Please advise,' a third person joked.
