"Najahna" Supports 20 Startups Emerging from the Entrepreneurship Hackathon - Jordan News
As part of a strategic partnership between Plan International, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, and Orange Jordan, a grant agreement was signed under the "Najahna" Economic Empowerment Program for Youth. The agreement aims to support 20 startups selected from among 100 qualified projects that participated in the 2024 Entrepreneurship Hackathon, launched by the Ministry as part of its Public Policy for Entrepreneurship initiative. اضافة اعلان The selected projects are currently being incubated at Orange's Digital Center and span priority national sectors such as agritech, education, renewable energy, and tourism. The program provides financial grants, training, mentorship, networking, and logistical support, enabling entrepreneurs to develop viable prototypes. The selection process involved a multi-phase evaluation by specialized committees including representatives from local institutions, the private sector, and seasoned entrepreneurs. Of the 20 chosen projects, 60% are in advanced stages, while 40% are still in the ideation phase. Orange Jordan reaffirmed its belief in youth as the key drivers of economic growth and digital transformation, emphasizing its commitment to fostering entrepreneurship through practical programs and strategic collaborations. The company seeks to equip young innovators with the skills and tools needed to deliver innovative, impactful solutions that generate sustainable jobs and boost local development. Each of the 20 selected startups will receive financial grants of up to 13,000 Jordanian dinars, along with technical support, including legal and professional guidance, tailored to the specific needs of each project. They will also benefit from ongoing mentorship and resources offered by Orange's Digital Center to help refine and market their prototypes. This initiative marks a significant step in the economic empowerment component of the "Najahna" program, following intensive training in entrepreneurship.
