What is The Mirage?
The Mirage is a 76-foot luxury yacht, the brainchild of Mark Werhley and Tara Sharbonda. Designed specifically to handle Cape Town's famously unpredictable weather, it stands as South Africa's largest and safest private yacht. Or, as Tara perfectly put it, "The boat was built for Cape Town."

With two sleek, modern levels and uninterrupted 360-degree ocean views, The Mirage blends style and serenity.
It's the kind of place where stress seems to evaporate, and you're left with nothing but the sound of waves and the rhythm of the city's soul.
If you've ever dreamed of having your "I'm flying, Jack!" moment from Titanic, the Mirage's front netting offers the perfect spot to channel it. That said, I'll admit, when it came time to try it myself, fear got the better of me.
Gourmet bites and expertly crafted cocktails
The feeling of luxury sets in before you've even stepped aboard. As you make your way to the yacht, you're greeted by warm smiles, a chilled hand towel, and a perfectly balanced mimosa – setting the tone for what's to come.
Once on board, guests can indulge in a range of dining options, whether it's fresh pizza, beautifully prepared sushi, or just about any cocktail you can imagine, thanks to the onboard mixologists who take their craft seriously.
Chef Steve and his talented team at No Fixed Address Food Concept ensure an endless stream of exquisite canapés.
Just when I thought I couldn't eat another thing and politely declined, Chef Steve would give me a look – a knowing glance that said, " you're about to miss out on greatness".
And every time, he was right.
From cauliflower poke bowls to melt-in-your-mouth beef tartare, everything was fresher than the ocean breeze swirling around us.

Let's talk cruises and pricing
All charters set sail from the V&A Waterfront, cruising along Cape Town's stunning coastline toward Mouille Point before looping back. The Mirage offers two main experiences:
The day sails last an hour, while sunset sails extend to an hour and 30 minutes – perfect for soaking in golden skies and, if you're lucky, spotting a curious whale along the way.

Tickets for daily cruises range from R400 to R600 per person, excluding food and drinks. Among the day sails, The Mirage stands out as one of the more accessible ways to experience Cape Town from a fresh, luxurious perspective – offering premium comfort without the full private charter price tag.
If you're after a truly elevated experience, the private charters are in a league of their own.
Think full-day exclusivity, inflatable slides, private pool, onboard DJs, and a completely personalised itinerary. These bespoke experiences start from R35,000 for the day.

Justin Timberlake says he's been diagnosed with Lyme disease

Justin Timberlake has been diagnosed with Lyme disease, the former NSYNC star said on Instagram on Thursday. Timberlake shared the news in a post commemorating his Forget Tomorrow tour, which wrapped in Turkey on Wednesday, adding that the disease 'can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically'. The SexyBack singer, who described himself as a private person, wrote that he considered ending the tour when he was diagnosed, but wrote that he 'decided the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I'm so glad I kept going'. Lyme disease is transmitted by Ixodes ticks, also known as deer ticks. It can cause flu-like conditions, neurological problems, joint pain and other symptoms. In the vast majority of cases, Lyme disease is successfully treated with antibiotics. 'I honestly don't know what my future is onstage, but I'll always cherish this run! And all of them before! It's been the stuff of legend for me,' Timberlake wrote. Timberlake cancelled and postponed multiple shows throughout the tour's run, citing health issues including bronchitis and laryngitis. Six of his US shows were postponed from October and November to February, the singer announced on Instagram. Timberlake ultimately cancelled the final show of the American leg of the tour in Ohio due to the flu in February. Representatives for Timberlake did not immediately respond to The Associated Press's request for comment. Timberlake pleaded guilty to driving while impaired in New York's Hamptons in 2024. As part of his plea deal, the singer gave a public safety announcement in September, urging drivers not to get behind the wheel after drinking. The ten-time Grammy winner ended the post thanking his wife, Jessica Biel, and their two sons, Silas and Phin, saying, 'Nothing is more powerful than your unconditional love. You are my heart and my home. I'm on my way.' Get all the latest news from around the country Follow STV News Scan the QR code on your mobile device for all the latest news from around the country

'I was rejected 5 times on Dragons' Den but now my profits have doubled'

A Dragons' Den entrepreneur has revealed she's grateful to have not secured investment on the BBC One competition. A Dragons' Den contestant has admitted she's grateful to have not secured investment on the BBC One competition. ‌ Anshu Ahuja entered the Den in an episode that aired tonight, hoping to seek £100,000 for 3 percent of her business, DabbaDrop. ‌ The founder and her business partner had built up their sustainable takeaway business, inspired by the dabbawala system of Mumbai, in 2018, and had valued the business at more than £3,000,000 just a few years later. ‌ The entrepreneur was looking for investment from the likes of Peter Jones, Sara Davies, Touker Suleyman, Deborah Meaden, and Steven Bartlett to help upscale DabbaDrop and encourage its growth outside of London. However, despite her inspirational ethics behind the sustainable product, and the fact that DabbaDrop had turned over more than £800,000 in its latest year, Anshu failed to convince the Dragons to invest. ‌ In fact, Peter encouraged her to 'pivot' on one key part of her business model, while Touker called the valuation 'crazy' and Sara feared DabbaDrop was in 'distress.' Yet despite their comments and not securing an investment from Dragons' Den, Anshu has had no regrets. ‌ In an exclusive interview, she reflected on Touker's harsh remark on their valuation, saying: 'We had done quite a lot of work going into Dragons' Den and our own fundraising round, so the £4million valuation was independently valued, based on our £850,000 revenue and a lifetime value of the 1,500 subscribers at that point of nearly £400 per subscriber. At that point, we also had a 1,000-person waiting list, which is currently, even before airing, standing at 4,000 people.' Anshu knew it was a 'risk' to go on national TV and pitch her business, but was willing to take the leap as the team was fundraising for DabbaDrop at the time of being approached for the show. They'd already received interest from more than 2,000 investors, had reached millions of views on an Instagram reel, and pledged more than £1,000,000. ‌ 'It is risky going on national TV, but why not? Let's take the ris,k and it might be worth it," she said. 'Also, the opportunity to talk to five smart, brilliant people was what I was most excited about, being up there talking about our story and our vision, all about the Dabba dream, and having them dissect it and come up with interesting ideas of how to take it further. ‌ 'I know it sounds mad, but I was thrilled about being chosen to have that conversation, regardless of what happened at the end.' With the help of the investors and support they've received, Anshu already has plans for DabbaDrop to expand with more products and to build new hubs in other cities, after demand for the service across the world in Mumbai, New York, and Sydney. 'It's not just us that believe in it, there are investors across the world who think this is a great idea and have the same sort of vision for it as we do,' she said. ‌ Since going on Dragons' Den, before the episode had aired, Anshu revealed that the company had already doubled its number of subscribers and profits. She reflected:' We've really taken the advice that the Dragons gave us to work at bettering our model. Actually, in a lot of ways, I'm glad we didn't get the investment, and look at how great we're doing, we've used that moment to go away and think about how we can be better. 'I'm really proud of how far we've come in just a year with no help.' 'I have absolutely no regrets,' she declared. 'It was worth every minute of that grilling, even Touker saying, 'You just take other people's money and go and spend it.' It was worth all that stress, chaos, and embarrassment. It was worth it, I'm still smiling.'
