YouTuber's family speaks on alleged kidnapping, abuse
They allege that while en route, Myeza realised the car was taking a strange path and requested that the driver make a U-turn. As a result, the driver allegedly became agitated and stopped the car. Thereafter, two others approached them and held Myeza at gunpoint.
In a statement released by the family, they claimed that one man blindfolded the YouTuber while the other tied his hands. This was before taking him to an unknown location. They further claim that the kidnappers accessed Myeza's phone and cleaned his bank account.
'Upon realising who he was, they went on to make phone calls to his family members, colleagues and friends and demanded a ransom. When they got the money, they stripped him off his clothes and took pictures and videos of him while forcing him to perform despicable acts,' said family spokesperson, Lomsongaka Myeza.
The family also alleges that the kidnappers requested another ride for Myeza after asking him for his residential address. They also claim that the men said they would come after the YouTuber and his family should he 'do or say anything stupid'.
Myeza remains in a safe place, surrounded by family and friends. The e-hailing company has been contacted for comment.

Advocate Sesi Baloyi and Advocate Sandile Khumalo will assist him. Despite outlining the lengthy process, Ramaphosa claimed that the commission would be attended to with 'necessary urgency and thoroughness'. After its investigation, the commission would submit a final report to Ramaphosa, who would also expect an interim report after three and six months. Interim reports are expected after 3 and 6 months, respectively. Minister Senzo Mchunu has been placed on a [paid] leave of absence with immediate effect. Wits Professor Firoz Cachalia will be appointed acting Minister of Police at the end of July. In the interim, another cabinet member will take up the temporary post. While many South Africans expected fireworks in the family meeting – like Ramaphosa's suspension of either Minister Senzo Mchunu or Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi – the outcome was something of an anticlimax. Parliament and SAPS leadership cannot wait for yet another long, expensive process while trust in policing collapses further. President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to address the nation regarding KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner lieutenant general Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi's damning allegations against the minister of police, Senzo Mchunu. Earlier this week, the Presidency confirmed that Ramaphosa was attending a BRICS summit in Brazil on Sunday, 6 July, when lieutenant general Mkhwanazi outlined numerous allegations at a media briefing. 'The President undertook to attend to this development on his return from Brazil, given the implications for national security,' Ramaphosa's spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya said. In response to Mkhwanazi's allegations, ministry of police spokesperson Kamogelo Mogotsi said they would be reviewing the provincial commissioner's statements and would consider appropriate action. Five alleged robbery suspects shot and killed in Riverlea
Gauteng police have shot and killed five suspects in Riverlea following an alleged robbery in Johannesburg CBD on Sunday morning. The suspects were gunned down on Sunday afternoon. South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson in Gauteng, captain Tintswalo Sibeko said a crime intelligence-driven operation was conducted on Sunday, 13 July, by a multidisciplinary team. Sibeko said the operation followed information about a business robbery that occurred at a shop in Johannesburg Central on Sunday morning, 'When the members attempted to stop the suspects at Riverlea, the suspects opened fire, leading to a shootout. Three suspects were fatally shot, and the fourth suspect was declared dead by paramedics without sustaining any injuries. 'Preliminary investigation revealed two unlicensed firearms were recovered so far, along with the robbed items. The police are investigating business robbery, attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearms,' she explained. The car the alleged suspects shot and killed by police were travelling in.
