Disappointment for the King and Queen again at Ascot
The four-year-old had won three of her four starts for the the in-form training team of John and Thady Gosden, but while she travelled strongly for the first half of this straight mile contest under William Buick, she was a spent force with two furlongs to run and faded out of contention.
John Gosden said: 'The ground was too quick for her, it dried out too much for her and she wants stepping up to a mile and a quarter.
'She's actually run well for a filly who wasn't in love with the ground, so we will just now go a mile and a quarter with a bit of ease in the ground and hopefully win a Listed race with her.'
At the business end of proceedings it was Andrew Balding's Miss Information (11-1) and the Gavin Cromwell-trained Snellen who came to the fore, with the former coming out on top by a length in the hands of Oisin Murphy.
Balding said: 'She's been a star, this filly. She had no luck last time at Epsom, she got shuffled back and just didn't seem to enjoy herself.
'Fast ground is what she wants, she just about got the mile.
'It's so nice for her owner, they really get a lot of enjoyment out of it and I'm so pleased for them.
'She's in the Bunbury Cup, we will try to get some black type at some stage and she'll make a lovely broodmare.'

The timing of Blackmore's retirement meant Irish handler De Bromhead had some time to bolster his jockey ranks. And while it seems the brilliant Darragh O'Keeffe will be his No1 for the new jumps season, De Bromhead has moved quickly to sign another rider who could flourish on the Flat. Step forward Conor Cusack - who already has a close bond with the Waterford handler. Cusack has banged in a quickfire double for De Bromhead this month - winning twice from two rides. He showed superior skill in the saddle to time 9-4 Stepdance's win just right at Limerick last Saturday. While at Killarney on Monday he was never for catching on six-length stunner Catena Zapata in a mile contest. De Bromhead has shown himself a top notch dual purpose trainer in recent years. He won the Ascot Stakes at last month's Royal Ascot with Ascending and last year bagged a £300,000 cheque with Magical Zoe's win in the Ebor. Cusack's rapid rise through the ranks suggests he could be the man for the future. And how fitting that would be, given he was friends with De Bromhead's late son Jack. Racing was plunged into mourning when Jack died aged 13 in September 2022. Cusack dedicated his recent wins to Jack and thanked Henry for the chance to show what he can do. The jockey, who was lifted off his feet by several women in celebration at Killarney, said: "Hopefully things keep going and a massive thanks to Henry who has trusted me with two nice horses. "I'm light enough so hope to stay at this game - I'm not too fond of the table! "It's a great feeling. "I was supposed to be out in Spain on holidays but the availability came up to ride this one so I said I'd book a flight home early. "Thank God it's worked out!" The Havana Gold colt was a smart winner at the Royal meeting, and although he earns himself a 5lb penalty for that Listed success he would still run under a relative feather weight at the weekend. He was purchased for just 9,000 guineas and as the conditions of the Super Sprint reward cheaply purchased horses, the £250,000 feature looks a tempting option and may prove more so than the Molecomb Stakes alternative also under consideration. 'We're slightly leaning towards the Super Sprint now, but it hasn't been confirmed,' said Johnson Houghton. 'He's doing very well, he came out of Ascot in very good form. 'We had been discussing the Molecomb, but the Super Sprint is tempting and the prize-money is very good. 'He'll do a bit of work tomorrow and we'll take it from there.' Also entered is Rod Millman and Middleham Park Racing's Anthelia, fifth when beaten two lengths in the Listed Empress Stakes at Newmarket last month and three times a winner prior to that. Millman said: 'I thought she ran quite well at Newmarket last time and all being well the plan is to run on Saturday. 'It's a competitive race, it always is, and a lot depends on where you're drawn and who you're following. 'I wouldn't want too much rain because she's got a very low action. We've got other horses entered on Saturday that want cut, but she doesn't. 'There's 1lb between us and Eve Johnson Houghton's horse on handicap ratings, because we're 94 and we're getting 5lb him, so we're only 1lb wrong. 'She's been a very good horse for us so far and hopefully she can continue to be.'
