to adopt a "Panth Parvanit" (Panth-approved) system for the appointment of jathedars of the Takhts to prevent embarrassing incidents, such as those witnessed in recent times.
Daduwal was here along with the HSGPC newly elected president Jagdish Singh Jhinda and its members to offer thanksgiving prayers at the Golden Temple.
It is already a matter of concern that the jathedars of Takht Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib and Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib are rarely invited to meetings of the Sikh high priests convened in Punjab Takhts to deliberate on Panthic issues, according to Daduwal.
The recent summoning of the jathedar of Takht Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib and Panj Pyare (five beloved ones), followed by the retaliatory declaration of the officiating jathedar of Akal Takht, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj — who also serves as the jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib — and Baba Tek Singh, jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib, as "tankhaiya" (guilty of religious misconduct), is deeply unfortunate and troubling, he added.
"Such actions not only send a negative message but also undermine the dignity and unity of the Sikh high clergy, causing embarrassment for the Panth as a whole," observed Daduwal.
Daduwal issued an appeal advocating for the appointment of jathedars through a process of collective and inclusive consultation. He emphasised the need for involving all significant Sikh religious bodies, including Sikh intellectuals, Nihang organisations, and others dedicated to the Sikh faith.
He called for the establishment of a system wherein jathedars are appointed through unanimous consensus, free from the influence of any single group or political party.
He said the HSGPC already initiated this movement and will continue to advance it both across India and internationally by engaging with Sikh intellectuals and religious bodies worldwide.
At the same time, Daduwal expressed the view that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) should not remain under the control of any single political party. "Our opponents in the Shiromani Akali Dal tried their best, but the Sikhs of Haryana succeeded in removing them from the HSGPC. Similarly, there is a growing sentiment among Sikhs in Punjab who do not want to see the SGPC dominated by one political party," he added.

A mazar was damaged ahead of the Brij Mandal Jalabhishek yatra in Nuh's Tauru town, police said on Monday (July 14, 2025) as security was ramped up in the District to ensure there is no repeat of the clashes that broke out during the religious procession two years ago. The culprits behind the vandalism on Sunday (July 13, 2025) night are unidentified, officials said. After the incident, a large number of police personnel have been deployed at the mazar in Tauru's Sainipura mohalla. "Necessary action is being taken by the administration in connection with the damage to the mazar in Tauru. It will be ensured that the Jalabhishek yatra is organised in a peaceful and harmonious environment in the district," said Nuh Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena. He said all officials have been instructed to make all necessary arrangements in their areas. Duty magistrates and police officers have been deployed at all places. Devotees are going to temples to perform their prayers. The yatra will start from the Nalheshwar temple in Nuh, about 50 km from Gurugram. "There is an atmosphere of peace in all areas. The general public is appealed to trust only official information," Meena said. On July 31, 2023, six people, including two home guards and a cleric of a Gurugram mosque, were killed in clashes that erupted when a mob attacked a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession in Nuh. The Haryana government on Sunday ordered the suspension of mobile internet, bulk SMS services (excluding banking and mobile recharge), and all dongle services provided on mobile networks, except voice calls, in Nuh district for 24 hours -- from 9 pm on July 13 to 9 pm on July 14.

NEW DELHI: Authorities on Monday suspended mobile internet and bulk SMS services in Haryana's Nuh district to prevent any communal tension ahead of the annual Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra. The preventive measures come in the backdrop of the 2023 procession, which led to deadly communal clashes in the district, claiming six lives. Fourteen deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) will be on duty, and 28 checkpoints have been set up at various locations along the route. Videography and strict checking will be carried out at these checkpoints to prevent the entry of miscreants. Additional measures include the deployment of mounted police, sniffer dogs, bomb disposal squads, four drones, 21 video cameras, and commando units, they added. All government and private schools in the district will remain closed. District Magistrate Vishram Kumar Meena issued orders prohibiting the carrying of all weapons, including licensed arms, firearms, swords, sticks, tridents, rods, knives, and chains. Strict action should be taken against those spreading misinformation," Meena said, adding that a special team will monitor social media to curb any attempts to vitiate the atmosphere. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Sanjay Kumar reviewed the security arrangements and directed officials from the civil and police administration to coordinate closely.

Mobile Internet services suspended in Haryana's Nuh for 24 hours ahead of Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra
The Haryana government on Sunday (July 13, 2025) ordered the suspension of mobile internet services, bulk SMS and dongle services in Nuh for 24 hours in view of the Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra on Monday (July 14, 2025). The services will remain suspended till 9 p.m. on Monday (July 14, 2025). Firecrackers, drones, light aircraft, kite flying and meat shops along the procession route have also been banned.
