Hansen shoots Norway to brink of Euro 2025 quarter-finals
Barcelona star Hansen snatched the three points in Sion with a mishit cross six minutes before the end to keep Norway top of Group with a perfect six points.

Gemma Grainger's side will become the first team to reach the last eight if Iceland fail to beat hosts Switzerland in Bern later on Sunday.
Norway looked set to dominate when Eva Nystrom diverted Hansen's low cross into her own net, and they were unlucky not be two ahead midway through the first half after striking the woodwork twice in the space of a minute.
First, Ingrid Engen nodded Vilde Boe Risa's probing cross onto the post in the 24th minute. Then, Finland goalkeeper Anna Koivunen tipped an inswinging corner onto the upright.
Koivunen pulled off two more superb stops four minutes later, tipping away Hansen's low drive before charging out to deny Ada Hegerberg just as it looked like the former Ballon d'Or winner was certain to net from close range.

Koivunen's goalkeeping heroics were rewarded in the 32nd minute when Oona Sevenius kept her head on the edge of the penalty box to guide home a superb leveller.
Finland suddenly looked far more likely to take the points, with Eveliina Summanen denied a brilliant goal when Norway goalkeeper Cecilie Fiskerstrand tipped a shot onto the post.
Hansen seemed to have missed her chance to win the match for Norway in the 82nd minute when she blasted over from point-blank range.
She made up moments later when she skipped past two Finnish defenders, burst into the box, evaded two more players and lofted the ball in off the post.

Botafogo target Davide Ancelotti appointment as head coach
Botafogo are in talks to appoint Davide Ancelotti as head coach. Ancelotti departed Real Madrid, where he was assistant first-team coach, alongside his father Carlo at the end of 2024-25. The 35-year-old Italian is currently contracted to the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF), after last month joining Carlo Ancelotti's coaching staff at the Brazil men's international side. Advertisement Brazil and South America champions Botafogo are currently negotiating Davide Ancelotti's move from the CBF, with the expectation of a positive conclusion. He would replace Renato Paiva at Botafogo, who last season won Brazil's Serie A and, for the first time in the club's history, the Copa Libertadores. Artur Jorge, the coach who oversaw Botafogo's 2024 success, departed in January and was replaced by Paiva, who the club parted company with following their Club World Cup last-16 exit to fellow Brazilian side Palmeiras. Davide Ancelotti has worked as a coach in his father's team since 2011 at Paris Saint-Germain. Davide initially worked as a fitness coach at PSG and Real Madrid before he was appointed as Bayern Munich's assistant coach in 2016. He joined Carlo with subsequent roles at Napoli, Everton, and a return to Madrid. Earlier this summer, there had been managerial interest in Davide Ancelotti from clubs, including Scottish side Rangers and Deportivo La Coruna, currently in Spain's second division. The Athletic reported in May 2024 that Ligue 1 side Reims had identified Davide as a leading candidate in their search for a new head coach, while he had previously received a lucrative offer from a Saudi Arabian club, after earning his UEFA A coaching license in 2016. Carlo Ancelotti left Madrid at the end of the 2024-25 season after returning to the club for a four-year spell. He became the first foreign head coach to be appointed by Brazil, and replaced Dorival Junior in the position, following his sacking in March. Botafogo are currently eighth in Serie A, six points from league leaders Flamengo. More changes as Matildas aim to rebound from shock loss
Joe Montemurro has promised to ring in the changes yet again as his inexperienced Matildas attempt to bounce back to form in Tuesday night's rematch with Panama in Perth. Panama, ranked a lowly 56th in the world, produced one of their greatest wins on Saturday win beating the 15th-ranked Matildas 1-0 in Bunbury. Montemurro, in his first international window as Matildas coach, had made a whopping 10 changes to his starting line-up for that match, and introduced four debutants off the bench. It's all part of his wider plan to gain more insight into the depth in Australian women's football, and to see who can adapt to his possession-based game style. Montemurro is looking for his players to display more football intelligence on Tuesday. And although the current window is more about information gathering and the implementation of a new game style, he wants to end it with a win. "We want to create the culture, we want to create the standards, we want to create an idea of football," Montemurro said. "And obviously there will be a wider, extended look at where we are, where we're going with the squad - but we want to do it while we're winning. "So a win is is important, like always."
