IT was a glamorous afternoon at 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Petaling Jaya on July 27 as Malaysian wellness brand ITSU unveiled its latest offering: the VVS – a revolutionary 'workout sofa' that fuses sleek home design with cutting-edge vertical vibration therapy.
The launch event had no shortage of star power, with South Korean actress, singer and model Park Shin Hye officiating the grand launch at Ground Floor, LUXE.
Fans and shoppers gathered in excited anticipation as Shin Hye – ITSU VVS product ambassador revealed the chic workout sofa — a modern piece designed for those who want to look good, feel good, and live well, all from the comfort of their living room.
Shin Hye graced the launch with her signature on ITSU VVS, followed by a warm welcome from the ITSU chief executive officer Datuk Eric Cheah.
Shin Hye was greeted by Cheah at the event.
'I feel honoured to be the face of ITSU VVS. ITSU is very popular in Malaysia, and I'm glad I finally got to try it out,' she beamed.
When asked about the commercial shoot, she chuckled, 'Filming ads usually drains me, but VVS was so comfortable, I felt like I got a power boost instead.'
The event concluded on a high note with a cheerful group photo alongside the ITSU team.
To make the celebration even sweeter, ITSU rolled out an irresistible grand launch deal, giving lucky customers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to bring home the VVS through its 'RM0 Price' promotion.
After the unveiling, Shin Hye made a special appearance at IOI City Mall, where she was warmly greeted by Selangor princess Tengku Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
The actress and the Princess had a heartfelt chat as Shin Hye answered a series of fun, hypothetical questions submitted by fans – posed by the Princess herself – a royal touch that elevated the event beyond a typical celebrity meet-and-greet.

This was followed by a group photo session with IOI City Mall manager Safreena Sairee, and ITSU representative, Tyson Ng.
Designed for the modern urban home, the ITSU VVS – endorsed by the Hong Kong Health Care Federation – is an elegant lifestyle companion.
Clad in silky-smooth, wrinkle-resistant velvet, the VVS is available in four serene shades — Lavender, Misty Jade, Light Rose and Ocean Blue — chosen to complement contemporary interiors while inviting daily use.
At its core lies vertical vibration therapy, a gentle yet effective innovation engineered to mimic the impact of a workout without the wear and tear of rigorous exercise.
With a precise 3.2mm vertical vibration therapy, the VVS delivers fast-paced, up-down propulsion that stimulates muscle contractions — similar to skipping rope, minus the impact.
At lower settings, the vibrations become soothing, offering a massage-like effect that's both calming and restorative.

Every detail has been thoughtfully considered: a metal pull ring doubles as a handle to detach the seat for standing workouts or a handy magazine rack, while the 5cm high-density cushion ensures lasting comfort and structure.
In addition to that, the ergonomic 45cm seat height is just right for effortless sitting and standing.
Whether you're winding down after a long day or sneaking in a quick wellness boost between meetings, the ITSU VVS blends form and function to support your lifestyle with quiet sophistication.

Sora Ma holds memorial service for late husband: I have never stopped missing u

In a post on Instagram Stories on Aug 1, Sora Ma wrote that due to her husband's sudden passing, she did not have time to notify many friends at the time. Photos: Sora Ma/Instagram Actress Sora Ma wrote a sentimental post on social media for her husband, as she held a memorial service for him one year after his death. She married the Singaporean businessman in 2021 and the couple held their wedding the following year. Ma, 41, gave birth to their son Skye in August 2024 and disclosed in December that her husband had died suddenly in June. He was in his late 40s. The Malaysian-born actress became a Singaporean in January. In a lengthy post on Instagram Stories on Aug 1, Ma wrote that due to her husband's sudden passing, she did not have time to notify many friends then. She therefore held a memorial service on the first anniversary of his death, and attached a black-and-white photo of the event. 'In the past year, even though you are no longer with us, I still feel that you are with me and our child, learning and growing together,' she wrote in Chinese. 'We (our friends and I) never shy away from anything related to you. Instead, we prefer to talk openly about your kindness to everyone, as well as the warmth and influence you brought to everyone. This is our way of remembering, mourning and healing.' Asked by a friend how she managed to get through the difficult time, she said she and her late husband loved each other without regrets. 'When you were alive, we never hesitated to express our love,' she wrote. 'We always gave each other the deepest care and companionship until the very end.' She added: 'I have never stopped missing you every festival and every special moment.' She said she would use her husband's thoughtful and considerate love for her over the years to raise their child. 'I often tell my friends that the love you had given me over the past 11 years is more than enough for me to raise Skye well,' she wrote. Ma noted that many people who have benefited from her husband's kindness came for his memorial service. 'I thought you were good and gentle enough, but after hearing everyone share their stories and watching your videos, I realised you were so much better than we could have imagined. I'm so proud of you,' she wrote. 'The good deeds you did in your life, the light you radiated – all of them deserve to be remembered. This world is truly a better place because of you. Please continue to be brave and kind in the other world. We will always love you.' Ma recently held a celebration for her son's first birthday, inviting her celebrity pals such as Zheng Geping, Hong Huifang, Chen Xiuhuan and Apple Hong. Ma posted on Aug 2 several photos with her son from the past year on social media, with the caption: 'Month of August, month of Leo Baby.' 'One year ago, he changed my life forever,' she wrote in English, using the hashtag #SkyeIsOne. 'From sleepless nights to heart-melting cuddles, this first year of motherhood has been the fastest, slowest, most beautiful ride.' She added: 'Thank you, baby, for coming into my life, for pulling me out from the darkest days, and leading me into the warmest sunlight I've ever known. I'll spend the rest of my life learning, growing and loving beside you.' – The Straits Times/Asia News Network

#SHOWBIZ: South Korean actor Song Young-kyu found dead at 55

SEOUL: South Korean actor Song Young-kyu, aged 55, was found dead in a parked car in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, on Monday morning, according to police. The authorities have stated there are no signs of foul play and an investigation is underway, the Korea Herald reported. They plan to interview his family to better understand the circumstances of his death. A veteran actor with a career spanning three decades, Song was well-known for his supporting role as a tough squad chief in the 2019 box office hit Extreme Job. His international recognition grew with appearances in popular streaming series like Netflix's Narco-Saints and Disney+'s Big Bet, both released in 2022. The actor's career had recently come under intense scrutiny following a drunk-driving incident on June 19. Police revealed that Song had been arrested after driving approximately 5km in Yongin with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 per cent, which is above the legal limit for a driver's licence revocation. The case had been passed on to prosecutors, pending an indictment. In the wake of this incident, Song was swiftly removed from two high-profile dramas currently in production—ENA's The Defects and SBS' The Winning Try—as well as the stage play Shakespeare in Love. This swift industry response is common in South Korea, where public figures are held to strict moral standards.
