Notre Dame football's 2026 class got larger on Saturday, as 2026 Texas defensive lineman Tiki Hola committed.
It was a big recruiting win for the Irish, as they beat out rivals USC along with SMU for the 6-foot, 2-inch and 285-pound pass rusher. Notre Dame's class now stands with fifteen commitments, and ranks as the No. 2 overall class according to the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.

Some highlights of what to expect from Hola
Hola is a load upfront, as not only does he keep offensive lineman from getting to the second-level, he's able to shed off blockers and make plays. He's close to having a college-ready frame, and with some time with the Notre Dame Strength & Conditioning coaches, an impact could happen early.
Underrated at his position
Edge rushers get most of the publicity along the defensive line, as Hola isn't ranked as high as some of his future teammates. That shouldn't matter much once they all enroll, as he plays in one of the best states for high school, and should over-perform his current ranking.
The Polynesian pipeline continues
Linebacker Kyngstonn Viliama-Asa's mother was pretty excited to see another Polynesian player joining the Irish recruiting class. Notre Dame has had multiple players shine from that area, and HOla could be another on that list.
The Irish are hot
While Notre Dame had a lull in commitments, behind the scenes they were putting in plenty of work. It's been a great last few months for Irish recruiting, and that doesn't look like it is going to stop anytime soon.

Notre Dame star RB Jeremiyah Love threw out the first pitch at a St. Louis Cardinals game
Notre Dame star running back Jeremiyah Love was in his home state of Missouri this weekend, and once again was honored by the St. Louis community. As one of the top returning players in college football, Love is no stranger to the spotlight and it was once again on him Friday night as he threw out the first pitch at the St. Louis Cardinals game. The clip starts off with him catch an over the shoulder 'pass' from the mascot, as he proceeded to the mount for the ceremonial pitch. Love would then have a solid throw, although it wasn't quite a strike, just a bit out of the zone. What's great about the video is it included his commentary during the whole time. You can hear him saying to himself not to screw it up, go back to his teaching and then not being overtly happy with his throw. After leaving the field, he did acknowledge that his toss was better than it bouncing up there. Class of 2027 Notre Dame in-state DE target Jayce Brewer picks up an offer from LSU
Notre Dame received a big commitment in its 2027 recruiting class this past Thursday when quarterback Teddy Jarrard pledged to the Fighting Irish. Landing a quarterback of his caliber early in a class is always a nice luxury, as it could potentially set the table for a special class. The Irish are in play for some intriguing prospects on the other side of the ball in this class as well, including in-state Franklin Central (Indianapolis, IN) defensive end Jayce Brewer. But the Irish will have some work to do in order to get his commitment. Brewer has a lot of offers from major programs, and he just picked another one up from Brian Kelly and LSU. The four-star prospect is the No. 3 player from the state of Indiana for the 2027 class, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound pass rusher has offers from major programs such as Michigan, Penn State and Florida, among others, in addition to the Irish and LSU. Last season, Brewer recorded 12 tackles for loss along with three sacks and an interception. Marcus Freeman, Al Washington and Co. are in the mix for the athletic and raw Brewer, but they will have to hold off LSU and others for his pledge.
