2025 MLB Draft Odds: Ethan Holliday Clear Favorite To Go No. 1
The Washington Nationals are gearing up to make the No. 1 pick, and bettors are diving into the action and wagering on which prospect will come off the board first.
Currently, Ethan Holliday is at the top of the board at -110. He's the son of former MLB infielder Matt Holliday and brother of Orioles' second baseman Jackson Holliday.
For what it's worth, Jackson was drafted with the No. 1 pick in the 2022 draft.
Will another prospect rain on the Holliday family or is Ethan far enough ahead of the field that the No. 1 spot is his to lose?

Ethan is the clear favorite at -110, but Kade Anderson is not too far behind at +210.
Anderson has gone 12-1 with a 3.18 ERA this season over 19 starts for the LSU Tigers.
After Holliday and Anderson, there's a sizable gap. Highly touted high school prospect Seth Hernandez rounds out the top three at +900.
Hernandez is the 6-foot-4, 18-year-old phenom from Corona, Ca., who has committed to take his pitching talents to Vanderbilt. In his junior year in high school, he went 9-0 with a 0.62 ERA while hitting .352 with eight home runs and 34 RBIs, which helped the right-hander earn Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year honors.

Blue Jays sign former All-Star pitcher in surprise free agent opportunity
The Toronto Blue Jays are taking a chance on a former All-Star pitcher who has fallen off from his peak. They've signed left-handed pitcher Joe Mantiply, according to the team's transaction log. Advertisement Mantiply, with a quirky southpaw delivery, was an NL All-Star for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2022. Yankees claim reliever Rico Garcia off waivers from Mets
The Yankees have claimed right-handed reliever Rico Garcia off waivers from the Mets, reports Anthony DiComo of Garcia was DFA'd by the Mets on Friday to make room on the roster for Kodai Senga. Advertisement Garcia tossed 2.2 perfect innings against the Orioles during Game 2 of the Mets' Thursday's doubleheader. In his only other appearance for the Mets this season, he fired 2.0 scoreless innings against the Yankees on July 6, allowing one hit and striking out two. Garcia, 31, has a 6.47 ERA and 1.68 WHIP in parts of five big league seasons with the Mets, Nationals, Athletics, Orioles, Giants, and Rockies.

Why isn't Aaron Judge participating in the 2025 Home Run Derby?
Aaron Judge isn't leading MLB in home runs at the All-Star break -- trivia question: Who does? That would be Cal Raleigh, who is in the field -- but he is second in the majors at 35 homers. So: why isn't he in the 2025 Home Run Derby, set to start on Monday night at Truist Field in Atlanta? We actually have an answer from Judge himself here, when he was asked about it earlier this season. Remember, he's been in it -- 2017 -- once and that's it. Back in June, he said to Newsday, "Nope. Same answer. Only if I'm talking about it here." "Here" would be New York. As in, if the Derby is at Yankee Stadium, he'd do it. But otherwise, he's happy not to mess with what's working and staying fresh for the regular season and a pursuit of a ring.
