Rod Stewart opens up on health hack that's been key to long career after falling ill
The legendary Sir Rod Stewart has disclosed the health secret behind his enduring success throughout an illustrious career that sees him still captivating audiences at 80 years old.
With a career spanning several decades, Sir Rod is not slowing down, as he continually performs to adoring fans around the globe, all while gearing up for his grand appearance at the Glastonbury Festival later this month.
Sir Rod's rise to fame was meteoric following the 1971 release of Every Picture Tells A Story, catapulting him to international stardom as it topped charts in multiple countries, including the UK and the US.

As the octogenarian singer prepares for another leg of his blockbuster tour, many ponder how he maintains such a high-energy performance level.
Sir Rod recently shared with fans how he still manages to maintain his stamina, during a talk with AARP, a US organisation for retirees.
In a candid revelation, he credited a piece of advice from iconic crooner Frank Sinatra for his vocal longevity: "Frank Sinatra once said to me, 'Rod, the secret to being a great singer is having powerful lungs. Do lots of underwater swimming, where you hold your breath.'"

He further explained how he incorporated Sinatra's wisdom into his fitness regime, saying: "I have an indoor pool, gym, golf course. The trainer throws a brick into the pool; I have to dive in, push the brick to the end, and come up."
While the practice of holding your breath underwater can have health risks if done for too long, short bursts are said by Medical News Today to boost lung efficiency in sending oxygen to organs.

Yet, despite sharing tips on a health hack he follows, the celebrity has been under the weather recently, with reports of him suffering from the flu.
Disappointment spread among fans as a number of his US tour shows had to be postponed abruptly, leaving Sir Rod to express his regret on Instagram, where he announced the cancellation of four shows and the delay of two more.
In the message, he said: "So sorry my friends," and assured them: "I'm devastated and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience to my fans. I'll be back on stage and will see you soon."

Nevertheless, the artist is gearing up for a stirring comeback, with an appearance scheduled at this year's Glastonbury festival - marking his first performance there since 2002.
