Izara Aishah still acting, but on her own terms

ACTRESS Izara Aishah ( pic ) has dismissed rumours regarding her departure from the acting industry, clarifying that she is merely being more selective with her roles, Berita Harian reported.
Izara, who is married to Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza's stepson Adib Khalid, expressed her desire to continue acting.
However, she emphasised that family remains her top priority.
'I've never thought about quitting, although I did take a break during the Covid-19 pandemic. After that, I gave birth and had to care for my child, but that does not mean I am quitting.
'My commitment, however, remains with my family,' she said.
The couple got married on Nov 17, 2017, and have two children – Irisa Alaia, five, and Amara Amina, two.
'When it comes to my children, it is very hard for me to leave them. Although I have helpers, my husband and I still need to be present.
'When there are events, I will leave them with my husband at home. Occasionally, we take turns to take care of them,' she said.
Izara, who starred in the Keluarga Itu drama series, said that she prefers supporting roles over lead roles.
'If I take on the lead role, I will have to be at the set every day. It will take so much of my time, and I will not have enough time for my family,' she added.

According to him, he realised the presence of the lamb when he checked his farm.
'I was shocked. I hope it will have a long and healthy life. I view it as a blessing from God,' he added.
The video of the two-headed lamb went viral on social media.

Ex-flight attendant turns balloon art into business
KUALA LUMPUR - In just two minutes, Syed Shahrizal Syed Othman, 44, better known as Abang Belon Cakewhat, can transform ordinary balloons into a strikingly lifelike hibiscus flower. Former AirAsia X chief flight attendant Syed Shahrizal Syed Othman, from Ipoh, Perak, skilfully transforms round and elongated balloons into delicate petals and stamens-crafted entirely from balloons. Syed Shahrizal Syed Othman - Bernama photo "It looks easy, doesn't it? But it's not. It took me nearly six months to master it,' he told Bernama during a recent interview at his office in Cheras. Having spent 17 years in the aviation industry, Syed Shahrizal said his travels around the world opened his eyes to the creative potential of balloon art. "In countries like Venezuela, balloon art is incredibly imaginative. I was fascinated by it and felt inspired to bring the idea back home-where such art is still relatively uncommon,' he said. "I learned the 'distortion flower' technique online and drew heavily from international designs before adapting them to reflect my own style and local sensibilities,' he said. His remarkably lifelike flower creations began gaining traction among local and international balloon art communities after he showcased them in live streams on his TikTok account, @abangbeloncakewhat, which now boasts over 70,000 followers. Apart from hibiscus, Syed Shahrizal also creates a wide range of designs such as daisies, sunflowers, roses, tulips, handbags, and balloon tunnels for birthdays, weddings, and corporate events-making these creations his signature in the world of balloon art. "The challenge, however, lies in the short lifespan of balloons… sometimes they deflate within a day or two. That's why I developed Absolute Balloon Care, a protective formula that extends balloon life up to 14 days,' he explained. Having dabbled in balloon art for over a decade, Syed Shahrizal became active during the pandemic when the aviation industry was crippled. What began as a hobby eventually shifted the direction of his life. "During the Covid-19 lockdowns, everyone was confined at home and many customers started requesting surprise deliveries. That's when the business really took off, and I began to see its true potential,' said the former part-time cake entrepreneur. In addition to fulfilling orders, Syed Shahrizal actively offers in-person balloon art classes in collaboration with both government and private agencies, including the Community Development Department (Kemas), with fees starting at RM290. "The classes are divided into three levels-covering both theory and practice. We teach from scratch, starting with balloon types, basic tools, flower-forming techniques… all the way until participants can create their own decorations,' he said, adding that he also conducts classes in Jakarta, Indonesia. He hopes to see local talent in balloon art gain international recognition, especially given the encouraging response from his overseas followers on social media. To support this growth, he urges the government to invest in the industry's development-through the establishment of a dedicated association and the introduction of vocational training focused on balloon art. "Balloon decoration has become a staple at many events. It requires minimal startup capital but offers high returns. It would be a missed opportunity not to explore its full potential,' he said, suggesting that Malaysia look to regional models like Singapore's Balloon Expo for inspiration. MIRI (June 28): The transformation of Some Shak Lung Kung Temple from a small hillside shrine into a prominent religious and tourism landmark stands as a powerful symbol of perseverance and unity within the local Chinese community, said Sarawak Transport Minister, Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin. He made the remarks during a grand banquet celebrating the recognition of the temple's Tow Boo Kong Nine Emperor Gods as the 27th Seal-Holding Sacred Palace of Malaysia Tow Boo Kong Temple on Friday. 'What began as a humble temple by the hillside has now become a majestic landmark admired by all,' said the Senadin assemblyman, highlighting the temple's decades-long journey to secure land and establish its current structure. He emphasised that the temple, now a magnet for devotees and tourists alike, is not only a place of worship but also a representation of Miri's cultural and tourism potential. 'This transformation would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the community, the leadership of Sea Dragon Master Ng Khien Ku, and the strong backing of the Sarawak government,' he added. The state minister, who had been closely involved with the temple for over 30 years, recounted the early struggles, from land donations being withdrawn after ground-breaking ceremonies to losing sites due to government development plans. 'Despite these setbacks, the temple committee persevered and eventually secured a permanent site at Jalan Jee Foh 9, overcoming stiff competition from other associations,' he said. 'Today, the temple stands as a striking symbol of Miri's cultural landscape, featuring a grand hall that accommodates over 1,000 guests and a twin-dragon gate that has become a local icon.' Lee also revealed that over RM20 million had been invested into the temple's development, part of which was funded by the Sarawak government. 'The story of Some Shak Lung Kung Temple is more than just a religious journey – it embodies the resilience of our people and our collective dedication to preserving cultural heritage,' he added. The event, attended by over 1,000 guests from across Malaysia and also from Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, China, Taiwan, and Brunei, also brought together representatives of more than 60 affiliated temples. A highlight of the banquet was the presentation of a RM300,000 grant by the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor), proposed by the Pujut constituency. The grant would be used to complete the infrastructure of the temple's new meeting hall, which could accommodate over 1,000 guests at any given time.
