#SHOWBIZ: Marsila Hassan resolves to stop lending money

KUALA LUMPUR: Former TV3 newsreader Marsila Hassan has learned the hard way the meaning of the famous Shakespearean line, "neither a borrower nor a lender be." In a Harian Metro report today, the 36-year-old revealed her frustration and sadness over individuals who have borrowed money from her but consistently delay repayment, even when their financial situations appear to have improved. Marsila explained that she used to lend money to friends without hesitation, driven purely by a desire to help those in need. However, she now feels her generosity has been taken for granted. "When it comes to paying back, it's incredibly difficult for me to get the money from them," Marsila said. "The usual promises of returning the money promptly or in one lump sum are always just empty words." She now resorts to reminding debtors of their outstanding payments via social media. "Usually, those who are reminded this way are the ones who owe quite a huge sum. One person even owes me close to RM100,000." Given that she is no longer working full-time, Marsila emphasised her urgent need for these repayments. She currently works part-time as a radio announcer for Kool 101 and takes on various event hosting jobs. She also recently appeared in the TV3 drama series 'Keluarga Itu.'

#SHOWBIZ: Umie Aida apologises to Rosyam Nor for kicking him in the face

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Datin Seri Umie Aida has apologised to actor Datuk Rosyam Nor for a scene in the drama series Keluarga Itu, currently airing on TV3, in which she had to kick him in the face. In a recent Instagram video, the 52-year-old award-winning actress, whose real name is Umi Khalsum Rahmad Ali, explained that the action was necessary to convincingly portray her character, Chempaka. "Dear abang (Rosyam), I want to apologise for that, despite you allowing me to do so as required by the script. But it was difficult for me to do. "I also want to extend my apology to your family, your children and grandchildren. I've never done that to anyone else either," she said. The apology video followed the broadcast of the scene in Keluarga Itu where Chempaka (Umie) kicks Iman (Rosyam) in the face for raping their own child, a scene that has gone viral on social media. Rosyam, or Mohamed Noor Shamsuddin, 58, responded by saying that he understood it was part of their job as actors. "It's okay, Umie, this is part of our work. We have acted together so many times and for a long time. "We are already like siblings," he said. Rosyam last worked with Umie in the 2008 film Kala Malam Bulan Mengambang, directed by the late Mamat Khalid. Since its premiere in February, Keluarga Itu has become a trending topic on social media, with viewers discussing its storyline, which includes the issue of incest. The drama series also stars Fattah Amin, Puteri Balqis, Amir Ahnaf, Izara Aishah, and Muaz Zabir. It airs every Friday to Sunday at 9 pm on TV3 and can also be streamed via Tonton.

ARAVINTHAN ACTRESS Izara Aishah ( pic ) has dismissed rumours regarding her departure from the acting industry, clarifying that she is merely being more selective with her roles, Berita Harian reported. Izara, who is married to Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza's stepson Adib Khalid, expressed her desire to continue acting. However, she emphasised that family remains her top priority. 'I've never thought about quitting, although I did take a break during the Covid-19 pandemic. After that, I gave birth and had to care for my child, but that does not mean I am quitting. 'My commitment, however, remains with my family,' she said. The couple got married on Nov 17, 2017, and have two children – Irisa Alaia, five, and Amara Amina, two. 'When it comes to my children, it is very hard for me to leave them. Although I have helpers, my husband and I still need to be present. 'When there are events, I will leave them with my husband at home. Occasionally, we take turns to take care of them,' she said. Izara, who starred in the Keluarga Itu drama series, said that she prefers supporting roles over lead roles. 'If I take on the lead role, I will have to be at the set every day. It will take so much of my time, and I will not have enough time for my family,' she added. > Villagers in Bukit Kechil Pernu, Melaka, were shocked when a sheep gave birth to a two-headed lamb, Kosmo! reported. #SHOWBIZ: Chocolates and camera time for Muaz

"WE need desserts to sweeten up our days, especially when things don't go according to plan," actor Muaz Zabir quipped. The 27-year-old actor, who recently appeared in the popular TV3 drama series Keluarga Itu, revealed his plans to supply desserts to a friend's upcoming cafe. This marks another foray into the world of business for Muaz, who has been balancing his entrepreneurial pursuits with his acting career. Muaz's acting career took off after winning the TV3 reality show Fit For Action in 2022. He then landed a role in the 2023 TV drama Bukan Hanya Sekadar Cinta. Before his entertainment career, he worked as a personal trainer. During the recent Ramadan period, Muaz took a brief hiatus from acting after completing his filming commitments for Keluarga Itu, which features a star-studded cast including Datuk Rosyam Noor, Datin Seri Umie Aida, Izara Aishah, Puteri Balqis, Amir Ahnaf, and Fattah Amin. Instead of resting on his laurels, Muaz kept busy with various projects, including selling clothing at Hari Raya bazaars in both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. He also serves as a brand ambassador for Primavalet. Muaz also participated in Media Prima's recent corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, Tonton Gen+ Suai Kenal Sekolah, organized by TV3, Tonton, and DIDIKTVKPM. Safi Shayla was the project's brand partner. As part of the programme, Muaz shared his experiences with students at Sekolah Seri Puteri in Cyberjaya. Other celebrities involved in the initiative included Syahir Shafein, Anim Ezati, Zharif Ghazzi, Sharul Kamal, Fitri Farok, Hakimi Noordin, Shah (Tapaw), and Nisa Ka. Regarding his new dessert venture, Muaz sees it as an opportunity to expand his horizons and gain valuable business experience. "I'll be supplying chocolate and strawberry-based desserts initially. "As we progress, we may expand the menu to include other sweet treats, such as banana-based desserts and ice cream," Muaz explained. He added. "If chocolate can brighten someone's day, why not?" "Since I'm relatively new to this, I'm relying on a trusted team to help manage the day-to-day operations. "However, I'm personally involved in the research and development, supplier sourcing, and other crucial aspects of the business," he said.

#SHOWBIZ: Muaz Zabir: My mother gets along great with Bella Astillah

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Muaz Zabir has dismissed claims that his mother did not approve of his friendship with Bella Astillah due to the singer's status as a single mother. Muaz or Muaz Mohamad Zabir, 28, said in a news report yesterday that netizens should stop making baseless accusations against his loved ones. "The relationship between my family and Bella's is good, and my mother gets along great with Bella. "In fact my mother is the easiest person to talk to. Bella and my mother are okay, they have even had meals together," he told Oh Bulan. The Keluarga Itu actor said that he still maintained a good relationship with Bella despite their previous controversy. "We are still friends and have no problem working with each other. Even during the Hari Raya holidays, I went to Bella's house and met her family." "There was no intention to make a video (of himself with Bella's kids) viral and the post was also done by someone else. Previously, a video featuring the actor with Bella's two children during a Raya open house went viral. On another note, Muaz admitted that he likes to entertain children because they bring "joy to his life". "I receive many messages from single mothers. They have praised me for this. According to Muaz, his love for children was inculcated since childhood, especially since his mother used to babysit her family friends' children and grandchildren.
