Linkin Park Fans Will Never Be Done With The Band's Debut Album
Hybrid Theory finds space on five different Billboard rankings this week, which is relatively rare for a project released in 2000. The beloved effort returns to four of those tallies and makes an especially large leap on one more.
The collection reappears highest on the Top Alternative Albums list, where it blasts back onto the tally at No. 18. It's not too far behind on both the Top Rock Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums rosters, returning to those rankings at Nos. 22 and 28, respectively.
Hybrid Theory even manages to claw its way back onto the Billboard 200. On the all-genre ranking of the most-consumed albums in the U.S., the title finds a home at No. 130.
The only Billboard list Hybrid Theory doesn't have to reenter is the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, where it remains a mainstay. This time around, the blockbuster doesn't just hold steady, it jumps. The set lifts from No. 22 to No. 5, charging back into the uppermost tier.
Hybrid Theory lands just one rung behind Meteora, the band's sophomore project and longtime companion on these rankings. That effort dips slightly to No. 4, giving Linkin Park two titles inside the top five.
According to Luminate, Hybrid Theory shifted 10,700 equivalent units in the U.S. last week. That total includes streaming, sales, and other forms of consumption. Just under 1,500 copies of the album were sold as pure purchases — an impressive number for a full-length that many fans already own, either digitally or physically.
Hybrid Theory hasn't just shown up on Billboard's charts from time to time, it's been present on many of them for years. The project has racked up hundreds of weeks on each of the five tallies it currently appears on.
It's spent the most time on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, where it's now up to 420 frames and counting. On the Top Rock Albums ranking, it's logged 272 weeks. On the other three lists where it's present, the album has also earned somewhere in the 300-week range, though exact counts vary slightly.
Hybrid Theory is one of four Linkin Park albums that show up on at least one Billboard tally this week in the U.S. Its immediate successor Meteora joins it on all five of the same lists. Meanwhile, both Papercuts, the band's recently-released greatest hits compilation, and From Zero, the group's comeback effort, appear on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart only.
Hybrid Theory first arrived in October 2000 and introduced the world to hits like 'In the End' and 'Crawling.' Since then, the album has been certified Diamond by the RIAA and become one of the most important rock releases of the twenty-first century.

MGK Can't Wait For His Daughter to Tear Up the Playroom with Pete Davidson's Baby: ‘These Playdates Bout to Hitttt'
Machine Gun Kelly's daughter Saga Blade is only three months old, but the 'Cliché' singer doesn't think it's ever too early to line up A-list playdates for the newborn. On Wednesday (July 16), just hours after it was revealed that his pal and former Saturday Night Live cast member and budding movie star Pete Davidson and girlfriend Elsie Hewitt are expecting a child together, MGK said he's super-psyched about the news. 'These playdates bout to hittttt,' MGK commented on Hewitt's Instagram pic post of the couple looking super cute and snuggly, getting their a sonogram and wearing matching collagen masks. The 35-year-old rapper-turned-pop-singer born Colson Baker recently welcomed his first child with former fiancée Megan Fox, while Davidson, 31, and Hewitt, 29, just confirmed the big news about their first child. Hewitt's post also garnered well-wishes from a number of her bold name friends, including Finneas ('Congratulations!!!!'), model Meredith Michelson ('HEHEHEHEHEHE IM SO HAPPY BEST MOMMY EVERRRRR 😭😭😭😭'), model/actress Kyra Santoro ('OMG CONGRATS HONEYYYYYYY') and singer/model Siiickbrain ('OMG CONGRATULATIONS ANGEL'). MGK Busts Out Killer Jim Carrey Impression, Confirms Bob Dylan Narrated Album Trailer: ‘No Idea How He Even Knows Who I Am'
Nothing beats being a proud papa, and for MGK the thrill is extra special the second time around with his newborn daughter with ex Megan Fox, Saga Blade Fox-Baker, since he gets to share those precious years with one of his best pals. On The Tonight Show on Monday night (Aug. 4) the rapper/rocker told host Jimmy Fallon that he's extra psyched that his good friend Pete Davidson is expecting his first child. 'Have you guys discussed?,' Fallon asked about whether the two have been talking about fatherhood. 'All the time, yeah,' MGK said. 'He has this vision with my newborn — her name's Saga — that he wants… he hopes that she plays sports so he can come to the game. And if she wins, he looks at the opposite team and goes, 'The Saga continues.'' 'I think that they would be in their heads thinking that we would be looking at the baby and go, 'Okay, what do we do? We're not ready for this,' said the rapper-turned-rocker who has a 15-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. 'The diapers end up on our heads or something.' The 'Cliché' star also confirmed that Bob Dylan provided the voice-over narration for the Lost Americana album trailer. 'Are you friends with Bob Dylan' Fallon asked. 'Well, to be honest, I don't want to mess my friendship up,' MGK responded in his best nasally Dylan impression as he and Fallon traded off aping the rock bard's signature pinched delivery. 'To be honest, I have no idea how he even knows who I am to this day,' MGK admitted. 'And I'm pretty sure that if I say the wrong thing I'll mess it all up, so I'll just shut up and accept whatever Bob Dylan throws my way.' To be fair, even Kelly doesn't seem to know how the totally unexpected collab came about. 'Something's going on in the stars where, like, good things keep happening… I don't know how it keeps happening,' he said. He added that the Dylan team-up came at a time when he was really questioning whether the music he was making was the right thing for him. 'Then Bob Dylan, who's the king of just getting all the outside noise out and trusting what's within stamps… I don't know, I feel like he's just in on some giant cosmic joke,' MGK said. After running through some of MGK's recent oddball tweets, including one in which he stated, 'growing up, Jim Carrey was dad. there's no other explanation for my rubbery face,' the singer showed off his spot-on Carrey impression. Twisting his mouth into a tortured rictus, he pulled off a super credible How the Grinch Stole Christmas look before asking Fallon for an assist with an Ace Ventura bit. Shaking his head and doing the signature 'all rightyyyyy then' and Carrey cackle, MGK expertly rattled off the actor's insane rant from the film to the host's delight. He also later fitted Fallon with a pair of his signature vampire fangs. 'I kinda like 'em,' Fallon said. MGK was back later in the episode to perform a medley of songs from his upcoming Lost Americana album, which is due out on Friday (Aug. 8). The set opened with Kelly standing behind a blue picket fence rocking the same red and white leather jacket he sports on the album cover as a Who-like keyboard fanfare and big rock guitars led him into the power chord-drenched 'Outlaw Overture.' 'I miss my drugs/ They've been my friend since 21,' he sang urgently as he tossed the jacket aside and strapped on an electric guitar to furiously strum it out before taking a seat to croon the intro to one of the album's lead singles, 'Vampire Diaries.' Hopping back up with his guitar, Kelly tore into the energetic pop rocker's chorus, 'Take, take, take me out/ I know how it's gonna end/ But it's too late to turn around.' The Jesus Lizard Cancel 2025 Tour Dates Citing ‘Serious Health Incident'
Revered Austin noise-rock band The Jesus Lizard have announced the cancellation of their 2025 tour plans, with the group citing a 'serious health incident' affecting an unspecified bandmember as the cause. News of the band's axed tour was announced on social media on Monday (Aug. 4), with The Jesus Lizard revealing their scheduled October performances in New Zealand, Australia and Japan have been affected, in addition to their November dates in the U.S.. More from Billboard Australian Rockers The Angels Honored With Laneway & Mural in Hometown Lady Gaga's 'Wednesday' Role Will Also Include a Spooky New Song for Season 2 Metro Boomin Blames Social Media for Music Not Being Regional Anymore: 'Let's Get Back to Actual Culture' 'Upon the advice of medical professionals following a serious health incident affecting one of the band members, it is considered necessary as a precautionary measure,' the group wrote in a statement. 'The band would like to convey their apologies to disappointed fans and emphasize that the affected member's prognosis is excellent. Your understanding and support are very much appreciated as always.' The statement closed by noting that all ticketholders will be provided refunds for their purchases due to an inability to 'currently project replacement dates.' The band currently have no other planned shows apart from the affected dates. The forthcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand was to be the band's first appearances in these countries since 1998, while the Japan tour would have been their first since 1996. The Jesus Lizard first formed in 1987, issuing a handful of singles and EPs on Chicago indie Touch and Go ahead of four studio records for the label, including 1991's Goat and 1992's Liar. Signing to Capitol in 1995, a further two albums followed before the band's split in 1999. Following a two-year reunion in 2008, the band have again been active since 2017, issuing their first new album in 26 years – Rack – in 2024. Though largely avoiding any chart success (save for 1996's Shot peaking at No. 28 on the Heatseekers Albums chart), the group's legacy as one of the most prominent and revered bands in the U.S. underground music scene is well-documented, with acts such as Nirvana labeling them a noted influence. Following sporadic touring upon their most recent reformation, The Jesus Lizard increased their live appearances last year, with the group having already completed tours of the U.S., U.K. and Europe in 2025.
