Mum in shock as stranger reminds her young daughter to ‘be quiet on plane' while checking in
But her reaction has divided opinions online, with many people agreeing strangers should not be 'parenting' someone else's child — while others said misbehaving children can be a real nightmare on a flight.
Emma Darrouzet was flying from Brisbane to Port Douglas with her daughter on a family holiday.
'As I was standing to check my bag in, a lady tapped my three-year-old daughter on the shoulder and said 'Hello, I hope you know you need to be quiet on the plane',' Emma said on TikTok.
Emma said she turned around to the woman and said: 'What?!'
In video footage filmed on the plane, Emma asks her daughter: 'Did that lady tell you to be quiet?'
'You say 'silly lady',' Emma then told her.
Looking at the camera, the mother and daughter then repeat the words 'silly lady' together.
On Tuesday, Sunrise reporter Georgia Costi said the post 'has a whopping 2,500 comments already'.
'As you can imagine, they're extremely divided,' Costi said.
'Half of the people say of course you can't talk to someone else's kid especially before they got on the flight.
'However, there is a lot of support for the random lady.'
Costi then did a vox pop, asking passers-by for their opinion — with mixed reaction.
'I was on a flight from Switzerland to Amsterdam, and I had kids behind me kicking my seat,' one man said.
'(I gave) a few dirty looks to the parents, then I was like 'hey mate, come on, this is too much'.'
Another person said if they were being annoyed by a child 'I'd say to the mother 'can you please tell your child to stop kicking' or maybe pour a drink over its head'.
A woman remarked of the stranger involved: 'I would say she's had a lot of bad flights in the past with a lot of screaming kids and things, so she's probably trying to pre-empt it, so she can enjoy her flight.'
Yet another woman said: 'I think it's up to the parents, if you can't deal with that then maybe you shouldn't be on the flight.'
And another person commented: 'You always see those kids crying and you feel sorry for their parents, you just wish the kid would stop crying.'

Hugh Grant's ungentlemanly act at Wimbledon goes viral
British comedy actor Hugh Grant proved there wasn't enough drama at Wimbledon to keep him entertained on Wednesday, dozing off as arguably the greatest tennis player of all time went about his work. The Love Actually star appeared slumped back in his chair, masked by large sunglasses, and enjoying some shut-eye as Italy's Flavio Cobolli took the advantage against Novak Djokovic in the first set tiebreaker of their quarter-final on Centre Court. While Wimbledon is revered among tennis tragics for its age-old traditions and strict dress code, Grant's less than proper act at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club was spotlighted due to his proximity to Queen Camilla. Nasty fight breaks out on plane as lawyer tries to skip line and deboard first: ‘Just deal with it'
So much for the friendly skies. A nasty argument broke out among a crowd of airplane passengers when a lawyer tried to skip the aisle line and exit first — infuriating folks seated in front of her, viral video shows. The attorney, who is not identified in the footage, is first seen snapping at a flyer who had just scolded her for failing to follow proper deboarding etiquette, according to footage posted on TikTok Tuesday. 'You're all whining for no reason,' she is heard firing back. 'Just get up when you want to — just deal with it, people, my God.' 'Wait for the people in front of you to get off, that's how we do it,' a man wearing a baseball cap told her. 'Shut your mouth!' she retorted. As tension mounted, a baby could be heard screaming while a second passenger chanted, 'Karen! Karen!' — a reference to how he believes she's smug and entitled. '[You're] being the real Karens, because you're making noise about it,' she snapped. Travelers objected to the pushy 'aisle louse'-style move — a term coined by Reddit users to describe obnoxious passengers who stand immediately after a plane lands. After telling a passenger to 'Shut the f*** up,' the lawyer then lashed out at another man who criticized her for swearing, according to the footage, which had raked in nearly 15,000 likes Wednesday. 'Given your accent, I can tell you've said the F-bomb,' she says of the passengers' southern dialect, irking a woman seated nearby. 'You can be a jerk, but you're not gonna insult someone because of an accent — we're not doing that,' the flyer said. 'You're clearly racist,' a man off camera is heard telling the lawyer — to which the attorney points out that everyone involved is 'white' and that it's actually 'xenophobic' to insult someone's accent, not racist. Some observers of the airplane meltdown said the lawyer took rudeness to new heights. 'Oh my lorddddd, she's got an ugly personality,' one person wrote. 'It's common courtesy that the row in front gets out first,' said a second observer, while another called it '[my]biggest pet peeve.' Others jumped to the lawyer's defense, saying when it comes to arguing, the world is clearly her courtroom. 'I kind of enjoyed her. She had something for everything that was thrown at her,' another person wrote. It wasn't immediately clear when the footage was shot or on which airline the argument occurred.
