BREAKING NEWS Disturbing new details emerge in Cher's son Elijah Blue Allman's overdose at 48
The legendary performer's youngest child, 48, whom she shared with the late Gregg Allman, 'was rushed to the hospital in Joshua Tree, California, after overdosing earlier Saturday morning.'
Law enforcement sources told TMZ Allman had 'drugs inside his home' when police responded to his overdose at his Landers, California home - after receiving reports of a man 'acting erratically.'
When they arrived, paramedics were evaluating Allman - with deputies then finding the alleged drugs. The investigation is ongoing,
A source added that Allman remains hospitalized and his 'current condition is unclear.'
DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for Cher for comment and has yet to hear back.
It is unknown what drugs Allman was using - with an insider adding 'Allman is 'very lucky to have survived.
At this time, his mother is focused on 'doing everything she can to get him the help he needs' and only concerned for her son's well-being.
Back in 2014, Allman revealed he began using drugs, like weed and ecstasy, at just 11 and detailed some close calls when it came to overdosing.
'I [was] just looking to escape all the things in my past and, that's when you turn to those kind of drugs, you know heroin and opiates,' he told ET. '[Heroin] kind of saved me … If I didn't have that at that point, I don't know what I would have done …You may jump off a bridge. If you can only just go through that time period and live through it and then get help.'
Allman also revealed he had 'some close calls and some moments of really feeling at the edge of mortality.'
'I always kind of kept it a little bit safe but you never can do that,' he explained. 'Even though you think that in your mind, of course the wrong things can happen. The wrong combination of things can happen and you can just slip into the abyss. I knew it was wrong and I knew that I was very unsatisfied with life at that point.'
The Oscar winner filed for a temporary sole conservatorship over Elijah's finances in 2023, arguing he suffered from 'severe mental health and substance abuse issues.'
'Any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah's life at risk,' the court documents read.
Cher withdrew the request in September 2024, nine months after he had filed court documents stating he was sober and had been attending AA-type meetings.
Allman's father, Gregg, suffered from substance abuse issues which doctors believe lead to his death from liver cancer in 2012.
His late uncle Duane Allman also struggled with drugs before being killed in a motorcycle accident in 1971.
Allman's reported overdose comes after he was seen looking very sunburned, sweaty and disoriented outside the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles in May.
He is currently going through a divorce from his estranged wife, Marieangela King.
She has cited 'irreconcilable differences' and requested he pay $6,000 per month in temporary spousal support.

The actor and comedian's upcoming two-part Channel 4 show sees him create a piece of art for his hometown, St. Helens, in Merseyside. However during filming, the star was rocked by a shock health diagnosis as he discovered he had ADHD. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a behavioural condition defined by inattentiveness, hyperactivity and impulsiveness. And now Johnny has opened up about the 'most difficult time of his life' and how his art saved him. He told The Mirror: 'I went into meltdown, I couldn't function. It seemed insurmountable. I had to get professional help. This has been the most difficult part of my life. But the art saved me.' Explaining how the noise in his brain stops when he is working on his art he continued: 'With ADHD, when everyone else is going to bed, my brain goes, "It's just you and me now". 'It lives to work against you. But the one time the white noise stops, the one time I can focus, the one time that having ADHD is good for you is art. The world makes sense when I am working on my art.' Johnny took a year off work amid his health battle before he returned for his debut art exhibition. His new documentary, titled Johnny Vegas: Art, ADHD and Me, will see the star embark on a 'creative endeavour' that ends up being a 'journey of self-discovery'.
