Rams' Kamren Curl jokingly vows to forgo playing 'Madden' after trailer shows him missing Saquon Barkley
The Philadelphia Eagles running back was named the cover athlete for this year's EA Sports video game. The trailer showed the video game version of the NFL's reigning Offensive Player of the Year receiving the ball, juking around Curl and leaving the defender in the dust.
Curl didn't appear to be too pleased.
"Lmao I ain't playing madden this year," he wrote on X with a middle finger emoji, later adding, "Been playing all my life and this how my first time being on the trailer gone be."
Barkley is the cover athlete for the first time in his NFL career – and he certainly earned it with the season he had in 2024.
The Eagles star ran for 2,005 yards and scored 13 touchdowns on the ground. He also had 33 catches for 278 yards and two touchdowns. He helped the Eagles to a Super Bowl title as well.
The photo used on the cover is from his incredible reverse hurdle over a Jacksonville Jaguars defender during the season.
Former Eagles star quarterback Donovan McNabb told Fox News Digital that the New York Giants losing Barkley was one of the worst mistakes an NFL team had made in recent history.
"They made a real big mistake, and I think it's going to cost them a little bit," McNabb said last week.

Arrowhead Game Studios' Helldivers 2 will make the jump to the Xbox Series X and S consoles on August 26th, costing $39.99. This is the first PlayStation-published title to launch on Xbox. The title will ship with cross play between all platforms. The cooperative PvE third-person shooter was an unexpected hit when it first launched simultaneously on PlayStation 5 and PC in early 2023. What initially seems like a serious sci-fi title often gives way to funny, emergent moments, thanks in part to its Strategem system, which requires you to input complex button combos while facing down swarms of enemies. There are a variety of missions you can take on against aliens, robots, and a newer Illuminate species. And, since it's a live-service title, the lore and the stakes are always evolving (and the developers often troll players). It's a fun world to be immersed in, even if you're just grinding the free battle pass for weapon upgrades. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has been named the best quarterback in the NFL by one outlet. That has not consistently been the case so it is worth noting when it happens. Matt Rhule believes NFL experience will help in new college football landscape
The new approach to college football will make it more and more like pro football. Which, in theory, provides an advantage for college football coaches with pro football experience. Nebraska coach Matt Rhule, who spent two-plus seasons as head coach of the Carolina Panthers, believes his time in the NFL will help him when it comes to shaping a college roster in an era of players getting paid. Via Shayni Matra of Rhule made his case in a recent visit to Greg McElroy's podcast, Always College Football. 'I think the biggest thing you learn when you're in the NFL is really evaluation,' Rhule said. 'Before, in college football, it was like, 'Yeah, he's a good player, let's offer him, let's take him.' You get to the NFL, they're all good players. It's just, 'Hey, what's the financial value we put on this person and put on this position?' Every year in the NFL, you go through free agency, and you see teams walking away from it with really good players because of their contract situations.' One key difference comes from the inability, under the current college system, to manipulate the available spending by carrying dollars over from one year to the next. 'The smart teams in the NFL carry money over and position themselves through the years,' Rhule said. 'But that discipline, I think, is something that's really, really unique. It's hard because you get to know the players. You want to take care of everybody.' One goal of the House settlement is to balance out the dollars. Rhule hopes that will lead to parity. We'll believe it when we see it. With the money now flowing freely, the programs that have the most will always find a way to get it to the players, directly or indirectly. Then there's the thing that you were probably thinking earlier and that probably goes without saying. But I'll say it anyway. Given that Rhule was 11-27 in 38 NFL games, does it make sense to put much stock in his NFL experience making a positive difference at Nebraska?
