Patriots rookie gets top-10 rating in Madden NFL 26
New England Patriots rookie offensive tackle Will Campbell has landed in the top 10 of EA's Madden NFL 26 rookie rankings. Campbell came in at the fifth spot, sporting an overall rating of 79. Rounding out the top five were Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Mason Graham, New York Giants edge rusher Abdul Carter, Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty and Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Travis Hunter. Hunter was the highest-rated out of all the rookies with a rating of 84. These rookie ratings should excite Patriots fans considering Campbell could be a cornerstone left tackle for years to come. Video game ratings are not the be-all and end-all, of course, but they can tell you the expected returns on a player. Hopefully, Campbell helps solidify the offensive line and serves as a key piece for the Patriots this year. Protecting the quarterback's blindside was something the team struggled to do last season, and it would be a major disappointment if it's more of the same in 2025. Jaguars' Travis Hunter Highest-Rated Rookie In 'Madden' In Over 10 Years
Travis Hunter might have gone No. 2 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, but he'll be No. 1 among the rookies in "Madden NFL 26." The Jacksonville Jaguars' two-way star is the highest-rated rookie in "Madden NFL 26," earning an 84 overall rating for the game, EA Sports announced Wednesday. His rating is the highest for a rookie in the "Madden" series since Andrew Luck in "Madden NFL 13." The former Indianapolis Colts quarterback also had an 84 overall rating, while Reggie Bush had the highest overall rating ever for a rookie in the game at 87. Hunter will be featured as a two-way star in "Madden NFL 26," just as the Jaguars plan to use him in real life. Users will be able to play with Hunter at wide receiver and cornerback, with restrictions being lifted on the depth chart settings for him. Hunter will also have "some exclusive benefits" in the game, according to EA Sports. He's the first rookie in the "Madden" series to ever have custom abilities made for him, making it so that the impact from the "Wear & Tear" feature will be less draining on him than it would be for other players that users try to play with on both sides of the ball. Still, Hunter will feel the effects of the "Wear & Tear" feature if you try to play him on every snap. So far in training camp, Hunter has split time at both wide receiver and cornerback. However, he's spent each day exclusively playing one position rather than splitting time between the two. Hunter's ability to shine on both sides of the ball also made him one of the best players in college football at Colorado last season, and the winner of the Heisman Trophy. He had 1,258 receiving yards to go with 16 total touchdowns on offense, while he recorded four interceptions and only allowed one touchdown at cornerback. Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty, who was taken with the sixth overall pick, is the second-highest rated rookie, earning an 83 overall rating. New York Giants edge rusher Abdul Carter (81) and Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Mason Graham (80) were the only other rookies to earn an overall rating of 80 or higher. New England Patriots offensive tackle Will Campbell (79), Atlanta Falcons edge rusher Jalon Walker (79), Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Kenneth Grant (78), Denver Broncos cornerback Jahdae Barron (78), San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Mykel Williams (78) and Buffalo Bills cornerback Maxwell Hairston (78) round out the top 10 for the highest-rated rookie players in "Madden NFL 26." Not among that group is Cam Ward, who the Tennessee Titans took with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The rookie has a 72 overall rating in "Madden NFL 26." Wednesday's unveiling of the rookie ratings is part of Ratings Week for "Madden NFL 26." EA Sports unveiled which players made the "99 Club" on Monday, with seven players making up the group. "Madden NFL 26" will be available to purchase on Aug. 14, but those who purchase the game with Early Access can play the game as early as Aug. 7. Want great stories delivered right to your inbox? EA Sports Reveals Ratings for Top Rookies in Madden NFL 26
EA Sports Reveals Ratings for Top Rookies in Madden NFL 26 originally appeared on GameDaily. The release date for Madden NFL 26 is almost here, and players are starting to find out their ratings. For veteran players, it's likely not that exciting at this point, but for rookies, this is the first time they're seeing their Madden ratings. Ahead of the game's August 14 release date, EA Sports dropped the ratings for some of the top rookies: Travis Hunter, Jacksonville Jaguars: 84 overall Ashton Jeanty, Las Vegas Raiders: 83 overall Abdul Carter, New York Giants: 81 overall Mason Graham, Cleveland Browns: 80 overall Will Campbell, New England Patriots: 79 overall Jalon Walker, Atlanta Falcons: 79 overall Kenneth Grant, Miami Dolphins: 78 overall Jahdae Barron, Denver Broncos: 78 overall Mykel Williams, San Francisco 49ers: 78 overall Maxwell Hairston, Buffalo Bills: 78 overall Hunter being the highest rated isn't a surprise due to his two-way ability, but there's one big name left off the list. No. 1 pick Cam Ward is only rated at 71, which puts him well outside the top 10. Now, quarterbacks typically have a stricter ratings curve than other positions, so Ward isn't too far behind his contemporaries. 2024 No. 1 pick Caleb Williams had a 76 rating going into last season, while No. 2 pick Jayden Daniels had a 74 rating. This story was originally reported by GameDaily on Jul 30, 2025, where it first appeared.

Madden NFL 26 continues to disrespect Titans' Cam Ward
Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward has arguably received the least amount of coverage of any No. 1 NFL draft pick in history. Good Morning Football's Kyle Brandt has ranted about it, we've talked about it here, other analysts have mentioned it, yet nothing changes. All of the talk in the league is around other teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs and other top teams. The disrespect toward Ward continued on Wednesday when the Madden NFL 26 grades were released. Not only is Cam Ward the lowest-graded first-round pick in the last 24 years, but he's the second-lowest graded player in the entire first round. And, to top it off, he's not even the highest-graded rookie on his own team. Femi Oladejo is the highest-graded rookie on the Titans' squad, and please don't misunderstand, he is absolutely worthy of that grade. Look at some of the No. 1 overall picks for the last 10 years. Kyler Murray - 73, Trevor Lawrence - 78, Bryce Young - 74, Caleb Williams - 75, just to name a few. And you'll never convince this writer that Williams is a better quarterback than Ward coming out of college. Now, let's also remember that these are video game grades that have zero impact on the actual season. Jayden Daniels was graded a 74 as a rookie and look what he did for the Washington Commanders last season. A lower grade than Williams, but performed far better in reality. That's likely what we can expect from Ward this fall. He's already got a chip on his shoulder, and this will only add fuel to his fire. Ward is poised to have a fantastic rookie season, and it's going to be fun to watch.
