RecipeTin Eats chef Nagi Maehashi asks for privacy following Erin Patterson guilty verdict
Patterson, 50, was convicted of three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder on Monday, after she served beef wellington laced with death cap mushrooms for lunch at her Leongatha home in July 2023.
It was revealed during her trial the recipe she had based the meal on was from Nagi Maehashi's cookbook titled Dinner.
Maehashi is the chef behind the popular website RecipeTin Eats.
Photos released by the Supreme Court of Victoria following Patterson's guilty verdict show Maehashi's cookbook in the killer's home.
Maehashi pleaded to not be questioned about Patterson's case in a statement posted to Instagram on Tuesday.
'It is of course upsetting to learn that one of my recipes — possibly the one I've spent more hours perfecting than any other, something I created to bring joy and happiness — is entangled in a tragic situation,' she said.
'Other than that, I have nothing to say and I won't be talking to anyone.
'Thank you for respecting my privacy.'
Maehashi's recipe directed the beef wellington be cooked into a log, however, Patterson claimed she made individual serves as she could not find the right cut of beef.
Photos were taken during examinations of the lunch leftovers, which were subjected to various scientific tests.
Toxicology reports found the leftovers contained death cap mushrooms, while the fungi was not detected in plant virology and microscopy analysis.
Patterson was found guilty of the three poisoning murders of her former in-laws Don and Gail Patterson, both 70, and Gail's sister Heather Wilkinson, 66.
She was also found guilty of the attempted murder of Wilkinson's husband, Ian, 68.
Reports surfaced on Wednesday morning that Patterson was going to appeal against her conviction, however it's unclear exactly what grounds the appeal will be on.
Her legal team will have 28 days from the date she is sentenced to file an appeal. She will be sentenced later this year.

He took his son Anthony to a gun range in 2021 and that same year the father-son duo visited a gun store, according to photos shared on his Instagram. Chapman, 72, married Frane, Zecca's mother, in 2021 shortly after their respective, former spouses died. The Dog was previously married to Beth Chapman for 13 years until she died in June 2019 following a lengthy battle against throat cancer. In part, their families were united by their shared grief and patriotism. 'We understood the pain that the other one was feeling and [in] those tough days and moments, we helped each other stand up. We could cry with each other and talk about what we were feeling,' Frane said in a September 2020 interview with Entertainment Tonight. A man charged with stalking KIIS FM radio host Jackie O Henderson was found outside her Clovelly home with a bolt in a sock, a court has heard. David Gourley was arrested in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs in early July after he allegedly stalked the radio star and would send her hundreds of Instagram messages. Police launched an investigation after receiving a complaint from Ms Henderson on July 3. The next day the 38-year-old was arrested while sitting on a bench outside her home. Police allege the 10-15cm bolt inside a sock was found when they searched Mr Gourley's satchel. Picture: Instagram Waverley Local Court heard on Monday, the police feared the bolt inside a sock could have been used against Ms Henderson. The alleged stalker appeared via video link from prison, where he has been held on remand since his arrest. The court was told Mr Gourley sent 'hundreds if not thousands' of messages from January up until his arrest to the radio star. The 38-year-old is facing four counts of stalk/intimidate and one count each of using a carriage service to menace/harass, armed with intention to commit indictable offence and use offensive weapon to commit indictable offence. Magistrate Michael Barko said the messages would have been a 'great concern' for Ms Henderson, the court heard. Mr Barko described the allegations as 'disturbing', aligning with someone suffering serious untreated mental health condition. At the time of Mr Gourlay's arrest, he was taken to a mental health facility before being charged by police. The court heard he had been unmedicated at the time from his diagnosed schizophrenia. Mr Barko refused Mr Gourley bail due to not having a proposed mental health treatment plan or regime to address his mental health condition.

Permanent Bondi Westfield memorial revealed
The first early details of a planned permanent memorial to the victims of the Bondi Westfield attack have emerged, with initial proposals for a new 'garden space' that might serve as a place for 'reflection and respite'. Waverley Council, which takes in the eastern Sydney suburbs of Bondi Junction and Bondi Beach, is proposing the memorial, with the council's Arts Committee discussing the project in April. A key theme for the memorial could include acknowledging women victims and the council will likely preference a female and Australian artist for the new installation. 'Key themes about women victims and need for mental health care,' Waverley's July 15 meeting document states. 'Preference expressed for a female artist. Garden space / mental health space, a place for reflection and respite, not just an artwork. 'Pressed flowers were such a great part of the one-year anniversary, would be good to keep this intimate, curved, sweeping, softer space (not angular). From April 10 to 16 this year, two commemorative display boards were installed in Oxford Street Mall in Bondi Junction. The displays showcased photographs, messages and images from the floral tributes and vigil, offering a space for reflection. 'One year on, we pause and reflect on the tragic events of April 13 and remember the strength of the community in the days following,' NSW Premier Chris Minns said in April.
