Govt pushes mega infra projects in Warangal
Joined by Ministers D Anasuya (Seethakka), Konda Surekha, and CM's advisor Vem Narender Reddy, the minister reviewed an array of projects aimed at transforming Warangal into an administrative and economic hub.
Top of the agenda was the Mamnoor Airport, a long-pending dream for locals, which is now slated for expedited land acquisition. 'We're fast-tracking land procurement through green channel funds,' the minister stated, expressing confidence that the airport would soon become operational.
The review also focused on key infrastructure initiatives including the Rs 4,170 crore underground drainage system, designed to meet Warangal's projected 2057 population needs, and the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, where 863 plots have already been allotted to 1,398 displaced families under the R&R package in Rajiv Gandhi Township. Basic amenities for the township are to be completed by September-end.
Ponguleti also set deadlines for development works at the Bhadrakali Temple, including ropeway and glass bridge installations, all of which are to be completed by December.
Already, 3.5 lakh cubic meters of silt has been removed from Bhadrakali Lake, generating Rs 2.06 crore through soil sales.
On the welfare front, the minister directed district collectors to identify landless eligible families under the Indiramma housing scheme and allocate unfinished double-bedroom homes by August 15. A toll-free helpline will soon be launched to address housing-related grievances.
Following the CM's instructions, Minister Ponguleti ordered officials to involve MLAs and distribute ration cards in every mandal.

The offer received bids for 22.95 crore shares as against 5.11 crore shares on offer. Brigade Hotel Ventures (BHVL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Brigade Enterprises (BEL), is a leading hotel owner and developer in South India. The company operates nine hotels with 1,604 keys across key cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Mysuru, and GIFT City, in partnership with global hospitality brands such as Marriott, Accor, and IHG. BHVL plans to expand its portfolio with new luxury and upper midscale properties under brands like Grand Hyatt, Fairfield by Marriott, InterContinental, and The Ritz-Carlton, targeting completion between FY28 and FY29. Ahead of the IPO, Brigade Hotel Ventures on Wednesday, 23 July 2025, raised Rs 324.72 crore from anchor investors. The board allotted 3.60 crore shares at Rs 90 each to 17 anchor investors. The firm reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 23.66 crore and sales of Rs 468.25 crore for the twelve months ended on 31 March 2025.

Stalin urges PM Modi to release Rs 2,149 crore pending under Samagra Shiksha funds
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin submitted a petition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the immediate release of over Rs 2,000 crore in pending educational funds and the implementation of long-pending railway projects across the state. The appeal was made through State Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu during the Prime Minister's two-day visit to Tamil Nadu, where he inaugurated various development projects and unveiled a commemorative coin honouring Rajendra his letter, the Chief Minister said that the Tamil Nadu government has been effectively implementing the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scheme since 2018, which has led to consistent improvements in educational outcomes. However, he noted that the Union Government had made the full adoption of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 a precondition for the release of central funds. He reiterated that the state has legal and policy-based objections to certain provisions of the NEP, especially the imposition of the three language policy and the restructuring of school education to the 5+3+3+4 format.'The Tamil Nadu School Education System currently accommodates 43.90 lakh students, 2.2 lakh teachers and more than 32,000 supporting staff. Withholding funds for such a critical and large-scale scheme severely affects the future of lakhs of students,' Stalin said. He urged the Prime Minister to immediately release Rs 2,149 crore due to the state under the scheme for the financial year 2024–25, expedite the first instalment for 2025–26, and ensure that funding is not linked to signing the PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) Memorandum of Understanding. In addition, Tamil Nadu's School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi met Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi on Monday and submitted a memorandum seeking the urgent release of funds. The state is yet to receive the central share of Samagra Shiksha funds for the financial year 2024–25, as well as the first instalment for 2025– the education appeal, Stalin pressed for the implementation of multiple railway projects that have remained pending despite being sanctioned more than a decade ago. Accordingly, the Information and Technology Department reported that approximately 26.34 lakh beneficiaries, despite being ineligible, were availing benefits," she further benefits for 26.34 lakh ineligible applicants have been temporarily suspended from June 2025.
