
Perumbavoor, Muvattupuzha natives secure 139th, 158th rank in Civil Services Examination
Ms. Krishna secured the rank in her sixth attempt since 2019. She was serving in the Indian Information Service (IIS) as an assistant director after clearing the exam in 2022. Before that, she had worked in the IT sector in Chennai and had undergone civil service coaching in Thiruvananthapuram. Her father, Chandramgathen K.K., is the vice-president of ESAF Bank, while her mother Shyji is a homemaker.
Mr. Amal had secured the 661st rank in the 2023 results and had subsequently opted for the Indian Police Service (IPS). He was undergoing training as an IPS officer trainee when he improved his rank this year.
Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Amal said he had taken a year's leave from training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad and relocated to Thiruvananthapuram to prepare for the subsequent CSE. He rejoined the academy in December 2024.
The son of the late P.K. Vijayan, who retired as Joint Regional Transport Officer, and T.K. Rugmini, who retired as divisional engineer from BSNL, this was his sixth attempt at the CSE since 2019.
