WATCH: Young fan's unforgettable moment as he performs on stage with The Script

A young music fan had the night of his dreams on Saturday when he got to perform on stage alongside his favourite band, The Script, in Limerick.
Young 'Charlie', charmed the crowd as he sang and helped perform a little piano piece alongside his musical hero and The Script frontman, Danny O'Donoghue, on stage at Thomond Park.
O'Donoghue told the crowd at the band's only Irish date on their Satellites tour that he picked Charlie out of the masses after the lad caught his eye dressed in a Satellites Tour t-shirt and a Script bucket hat and waving a giant flag of the Irish pop-rock band.
Charlie performed a duet with O'Donoghue and the band on a mini circular stage located in the middle of the heaving crowd during a version of the band's ballad, Never Seen Anything - 'Quite Like You'.
'Everybody give it up for Charlie,' O'Donoghue screamed as he invited the boy to join him on stage.
Young Charlie warmed the heart of O'Donoghue and the crowd when he pointed at the singer and sang: 'I've never seen anything quite like you tonight.'
O'Donoghue returned the favour and said: 'I've never seen anything quite like Charlie tonight.'
'Deadly', beamed O'Donoghue after the boy hit the final note on the singer's piano to bring the Thomond theatre to its feet.
'They're all singing your name, bro,' the frontman said as the crowd chanted: 'Charlie… Charlie… Charlie."
O'Donoghue and the band rocked a sun-drenched Limerick with their anthem pop-rock, including hits such as Hall of Fame, The Man Who Can't Be Moved and Superheroes.
With Limerick recently used to winning senior hurling All-Irelands - five in the past eight years - The Script concert, at one point, was akin to another All-Ireland Final after-party as the band's light show shrouded fans in green and white during the group's storming Irish rock anthem Paint The Town Green.
On a glorious summer night, it all went to script.

CMAT takes a pop at former taoiseach Bertie Ahern in new Euro-Country single

Irish pop star CMAT has teased the next single on her forthcoming album Euro-Country, which includes a cut at former taoiseach Bertie Ahern over his time in government. The upcoming album, expected to be CMAT's most political record to date, comes after the singer received rave reviews for her standout performance on Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage. In social posts on Tuesday, CMAT shared a short clip of the single, which shares the same name as the album, along with a snippet of the lyrics: 'All the big boys, 'All the Berties, 'All the envelopes, yeah they hurt me 'I was 12 when the das started killing themselves all around me...' The song about the financial crisis in 2008 references the hardships people faced in the area where CMAT grew up. READ MORE 'I was about 12 and it all happened around me, it didn't really happen to my family directly,' CMAT said in a recent interview . 'My dad had a job in computers, we didn't really have any money, we weren't affluent, but we were fine. Everybody else on the estate we lived in worked in construction, or in shops, and they all lost their jobs. Everybody became unemployed. 'Then, in the village I grew up in, there was a year or 18 months where loads of the people I went to school with, their dads started killing themselves because they'd lost everything in the crash.' The reference to Ahern in the song is not the first time CMAT has made her feelings known about the former Fianna Fáil politician who served as taoiseach between 1997-2008. In an interview with Hot Press in 2023 , she said if Ahern ran for the presidency she would 'make it my personal f**king mission to make sure that he doesn't win'. Ahern has yet to confirm if he will be running in the presidential election this year, but his name has been included among those speculated to join the race. - Additional reporting from the Guardian

'Creepy' Conor McGregor behaviour puzzles fans as he posts strange message

Conor McGregor has been labelled "creepy" and accused of behaving like two well documented recent scandals "never happened". Images of McGregor appearing to show him kissing a mystery woman on a beach in Florida, emerged this week. The photographs appear to show McGregor wearing nothing but luminous green swimming shorts embracing a dark-haired bikini clad woman while sitting on a sun lounger. A few hours after the images of McGregor on the beach with the woman emerged, news broke that the 37 year-old former UFC fighter had allegedly sent unsolicited completely nude photographs of himself to American rapper, Azealia Banks. Banks, 34, claims father of four, McGregor, sent her the two images via her X (formerly Twitter) account. Banks, who does not follow McGregor on the social media app then took screenshots of the images and shared them with her 260k followers on X. Surprisingly, a few hours later, Banks, posted on X saying she and McGregor have been sending each other unsolicited nudes since 2016. Since news of the scandals broke, McGregor, who is engaged to long-term partner, Dee Devlin, has been active on social media where some former fans labelled him "creepy" and accused him of behaving like nothing had happened. He has also failed to address the images that appeared to show him kissing a mystery woman on a beach in Florida. McGregor has also not denied that he sent the nude photographs of himself to American rapper, Azealia Banks. McGregor, who continues to insist he intends to run in the up-and-coming Irish presidential election later this year, also shared a screenshot of an Irish Times story concerning fellow Aras hopeful, Mairead McGuinness. "My brother in Christ, you were just seen cheating on Dee, again. Then being the super creepy pig by sending unsolicited photos of your c***, then proceeded to threaten your victim. Take a f'ing seat," responded one man called Ally. Another man said: "Mate your sending pictures of your Johnson to random people. Give it up with this presidential crap." A third person added: "Conor this is bizarre - why are you behaving like this never happened? It's no wonder most of Ireland can't stand you." However, the reaction wasn't entirely negative. One man tweeted his support of McGregor's bid to become the next President of Ireland. "Mate, u should be the next president of Ireland and put order there. Enough is enough." Last November, a High Court civil jury found McGregor civilly liable for assaulting Nikita Hand. He faced allegations of "brutally raping and battering" Ms Hand at a hotel in south Dublin back in November 2018. McGregor maintained that their sexual interactions at the Beacon Hotel were consensual. The jury sided with her, with €248,603.60 in damages awarded. McGregor has mounted an appeal against the ruling that got underway earlier this month. McGregor has now been absent from the UFC for over four years. His last fight, a second successive defeat to Dustin Poirier in July 2021, saw him break his leg.
