Olivia Munn on Aaron Rodgers family rift: 'It's not my story to tell'

USA Today6 hours ago
Olivia Munn is shedding some light on a stubborn rumor about her romance with NFL player Aaron Rodgers.
Munn, who is now married to comedian John Mulaney, with whom she shares a child, was linked to Rodgers from 2014 to 2017. Now, she's speaking out on fan theories that she was behind a much-discussed rift between the Steelers quarterback and his family.
"There's this whole big narrative that stayed with me for so many years, but there was just this dynamic in the family that had nothing to do with me," Munn, 44, said in a recent appearance on the "Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard" podcast.

"It became this whole big thing, and people were like, 'I can't believe her, she's keeping this family apart,'" she added, explaining that while she had some understanding of the conflict, it was never her story to tell.
"People have speculated for many years what was the rift," she said, "and I know, but I'm not saying because it's not my story to tell." Rodgers, who has since married girlfriend Brittani, with whom his relationship is much more private, has been publicly splintered with his family for years.
That split broke even more into the public fore when, in 2016, Rodgers' younger brother Jordan Rodgers appeared on "The Bachelorette" and spoke publicly about the family's rift. While he stopped short of revealing the source of the conflict, the younger Rodgers, who ultimately got engaged to lead JoJo Fletcher, made the estrangement known.
During the "Hometowns" episode of the show, the elder Rodgers was notably absent, and as Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers were catapulted into fame, the brothers remain at a distance.

Munn, for her part, said the constant speculation – and assumption that she was the root cause – was maddening.
"You've been asking for the longest time. This is the constant conversation. The man himself is saying it. They don't want that answer," she said on the podcast, referencing comments Rodgers himself made to shut down the rumor that Munn was responsible for the rift.
"I was really grateful that he did that," she added. "Even if people didn't want to take hold of that statement, it made me feel good that it was said."

Travis Kelce Reveals the ‘Craziest Part' of Dating Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce Reveals the 'Craziest Part' of Dating Taylor Swift originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is entering his 13th NFL season and his third since he began dating 14-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift. He's already totaled 1,004 receptions for 12,151 receiving yards and 77 touchdowns — and he's not done yet. On the personal side, Kelce's life changed significantly in 2023 when he and Swift made things public. While he was already widely recognized as one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history, his fame skyrocketed to a new level. The three-time Super Bowl champion has been under a microscope in the public eye, much like Swift has been throughout her career. Kelce spoke about that aspect of his relationship on the latest episode of the "Bussin' With The Boys" podcast, calling it the "craziest part." "Yeah, it's just the being, I don't want to say being, it's just the paparazzi that's probably the only thing I didn't really grasp until you're in it, and that's probably the craziest part though. Like I'm just playing golf and all of a sudden in the trees there's a [expletive] guy with a camera and you're just like 'Oh [expletive], like I got to go to the restroom now I can't just go over here,' You know what I mean? Never been ashamed of slamming beers, just don't want my meat on Page Six." Kelce has a point. He's always been outgoing and open, but now he has to be mindful that anything he says or does can be all over the internet within minutes. With Chiefs training camp starting in three weeks, that only means one thing: the public appearances won't stop and TV broadcasts will soon be back to showing Swift in her suite at Kelce's games, supporting him as he looks to win his fourth Super Bowl. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. On Tuesday morning, the New York Giants left the football world stunned with their recent roster move. A little over a year since announcing his retirement, tight end Darren Waller is returning to football and being dealt to the Miami Dolphins. Waller, a sixth-round pick in 2015, developed into one of the NFL's top tight ends just a few years ago. His best individual season came in 2020 with the Las Vegas Raiders. Waller landed the only Pro-Bowl nod of his career after racking up nearly 1,200 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. After establishing himself with the Raiders, the Giants decided to trade for the veteran tight end in March of 2023. They viewed him as someone who could be a focal point in the offense, but things did not pan out that way. Waller ended up playing one full season for the Giants, totaling 552 yards and one touchdown in 12 appearances. Following his first year in New York, he opened up on dealing with various health issues and decided to step away from professional football. They recently had a void to fill at the tight end position after opting to send Jonnu Smith to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Miami will now attempt to replace him with a returning Waller. While things didn't work out for the Giants when they acquired Waller, this deal also benefits them to some degree. Travis Kelce Delivers Verdict on Tom Brady's $375 Million Payday

Travis Kelce Delivers Verdict on Tom Brady's $375 Million Payday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is entering his 13th NFL season after briefly contemplating retirement following the team's Super Bowl LIX loss in February. Advertisement The 35-year-old isn't done yet and hopes to bounce back after posting career lows in receiving yards (823) and touchdowns (three) last season. Despite that, he still earned his 10th Pro Bowl selection. Speaking of retirement, Tom Brady, arguably the greatest NFL player of all time, hung up his cleats after the 2022-23 season. He's still around the game, now starring every Sunday on Fox Sports' NFL broadcast team alongside Kevin Burkhardt and Erin Andrews. Brady's contract with Fox Sports is historic. In May 2022, he signed a 10-year, $375 million deal, the largest ever in sports broadcasting. Kelce appeared on the latest episode of the "Bussin' With The Boys" podcast and made it clear that Brady's deal didn't go unnoticed after admitting he would love to get in the booth, too. Advertisement "I want to see what calling a game feels like," Kelce said. "Oh. Getting in the booth. You saw that Tom Brady paycheck," retired NFL player Taylor Lewan said. "I mean, everyone saw that one, yeah," Kelce added. "Yeah, it was a [expletive] ton of money. No, I've always, I feel like, impersonated guys that call the games and stuff like that growing up. And I don't know, I thought it would always be fun. Just jump in there."
